feline eyes remain fixed on the warlock, following him his every move as they step into the hotel room, taking a seat at the small dinner table. sasha makes it a point not to open his gift, purposely defying his warlock by ignoring his order. “ right, with your ‘pristine’ reputation, we better not risk me doing something to make a wholesome guy like you look bad,” he scoffs, sarcasm dripping from his voice. setting his elbow on the tabletop, sasha rests his chin on his fist, holding dante’s gaze. “ no, i really don’t, actually. i know you’re here for only one reason, you’ve made that perfectly clear,” the cat demon growls, pursing his lips into a thin line. “ how am i paranoid when you told me you’ve killed my… co-conspirator, or whatever you want to refer him as. that asshole.” even though the warlock has yet to make his move, sasha feels like it’s only a matter of time before the older has his revenge.
“ because you wouldn’t give me attention? really? just how far up your own ass are you, dante?” sasha shakes his head. “ you want answers? fine, if you’re too self-absorbed to put two and two together, i will do it for you: i tried to kill you because i wanted to be free from you, and i knew we’d never seperate if you were to be alive. clearly, i was right about that,” he squints his eyes at the other. “ i was tired of being used as a sex toy. you never took me or my feelings seriously. i’m just a prop to you, right? you’ve proven that to me, time and time again, and to add insult to injury, you rubbed your fucking courtship in my face too. speaking of which, shouldn’t you be with her right now? maybe you ought to ask yourself what the hell you are doing here, in a hotel room with me.”
“Oh please,” Dante groans out with a roll of his eyes, resting his ankle against his knee as he leans back in the chair. Comfortable no matter where he is— A habit that probably helped in his attempted undoing. “The old bastard got what he deserved. Honestly I’m surprised you didn’t do the deed yourself when I’d heard that he’d screwed you over in the end. How you didn’t see that coming I’ll never understand.” Apparently all their time together and there were some tricks the cat had yet to pick up.
Dante meets Sasha with a dead stare as the feline demon goes off, emotionless as ever unless sarcasm is involved. It’s why the feline resents him so much. He’s not ignorant— He knows it. And still he doesn’t make an effort. “I never once used you,” the warlock states firmly, drawing that line in the sand immediately. “Everything I gave you wanted. The only time a problem arose was when you expected more. I told you there would be no future between us from the very beginning. There never could be.” Both feet planted on the floor once again, Dante at least has the courtesy to look as though Sasha has his attention. “I hardly think I flaunted her in your face, she did that herself. You expect me to control a woman like that?” A small shrug at her mention. “I was legally dead for awhile. Not the loophole I wanted, but the one I got.”
