What I’ve learned in 2016: 1. Expectations are the biggest double edged swords. We are comforted in the belief that it is the truth, but it holds us back and keeps us from better possibilities. 2. Don’t place all of your happiness in other people. The only person you can completely trust with that is yourself. If you don’t look out for you no one will. 3. Love doesn’t always last, but if you keep your heart open you will always find someone to love again. You can’t find your soulmate with your heart locked away. 4. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We all understand what it means to fall on rough times. Reach out to the people closest to you when you’re in need. 5. Don’t take the people in your life for granted. Sometimes we are so worried about what goes on in our lives that we forget how much our presence means to our loved ones. 6. Make everyday thanksgiving day. Not the food, although it would be amazing, but the way you think about the world. Spend every day realizing just how many great things happen, so that when you’re down on your luck you realize there’s something to smile about. 7. Sometimes you have to let people go. We want to hold on because we think our love and attention can solve everything, but then we have nothing left for ourselves. When someone leaves you feeling drained after talking, or being with them, it’s time to let go. 8. Learn to accept your flaws. If you accept every part of yourself there will be nothing that can take you down. You will be more invincible than Achilles. 9. Accept and acknowledge when you’re wrong. When you take a step down and let go of your pride, and stop pretending to be invincible that’s when people will be most comfortable to approach you. 10. Open up to people. Share your soul with them. If they are really meant to be in your life they will stay and accept that part of you. The things that are really meant to happen, will.

1. Change is necessary. Everything is changing all the time, and if you don’t do the same, you will be left behind. 2. Fear is not bad. Fearing something means that you’re about to do something amazing. 3. Knowing yourself and accepting who you are means more than being accepted by others. 4. Your talent means more than what people say or think. Not everyone will appreciate what you do, and you must learn to accept that. 5. You never stop missing people. You just get used to their absence. 6. Missing someone isn’t wrong. What is wrong is letting it consume your life. 7. People will walk in and out your life. And that’s ok. You can’t make someone stay if they don’t want to. 8. Not all your friends will last a lifetime. 9. Your future will always make you anxious. Focus on the present to make that future come true instead of getting anxious about something that is yet to come. 10. Make time for you. It doesn’t matter how busy you are. You should be your number one priority, and you need time alone and relaxing too.

Well, that was easy.
You just learned 8 Chinese words in the cutest way possible.
When TED speaker ShaoLan Hsueh tried to teach her children Chinese, she realized just how hard it is for new learners to grasp. So she created a series of illustrations to make the beautiful, often complex characters easier to remember. It makes learning Chinese … wait for it … Chineasy.
