Interesting, but … how would it work? Their consciousness in their old bodies, or their current bodies in the past looking at other versions of themselves?

Would it alter their timeline or would it be a new timeline not related to their current selves?

Also, wouldn't Yuuri spending time studying all these things take away from his adventure trips abroad where he's saving people and making diplomatic relations that help Shin Makoku?

Also, if Yuuri learned and followed the 'rules' he would be another racist pompous ruler of the country? Remember that part of the 'taboo' when he gets there is associating with humans. He is human. Shin Makoku changes for the better (in terms of racism, warmongering, education) because it adapts to Yuuri, not the other way around. Actually, that's in novel 1. Yuuri says he "will change this country". He never wanted to adapt. He wants a better country.

And to answer your questions to the best of my abilities=

I guess it would be more of a mix between a time travel and alternate universe/timelines story. They would be seeing their "past" selves.

It would be a whole different timeline that didn't effect(?) The one the future yuu/wolf are from. So essentially not changing their own past but the present of their alternate selves.

I was thinking that where the water spit them out would be at a point time that the "past" yuuri/wolfram were on a journey to make peace with a smaller human country. And while I 100% don't expect the past yuuri to study, I was thinking this "future" yuuri would just info dump onto him about the "absolutely dont fuking do this" things

I was thinking more along lines of future yuuri realized that by trying to totally ignore/change all of the traditions/"rules" of his nation he was accidentally doing one of the thing that he disliked the most about the nation in the first place and had adapted and change his tactics to trying to meld the nation's rules to his values, keep the non racist/warmongering parts(please im sorry im terrible at explaining)

PARENT: I got "rubber duck" for my child's "bath" and she loves it.

AUTISM RESPONSE: Rubber ducks and other rubber bath toys can accumulate mold on the inside because of small holes underneath where moisture becomes trapped. The mold often goes unnoticed because it's not visible from the outside.
