My opinion on the fans who wants Sophie Beckett to be male on the series.

So I was rewatching episode 8 of Bridgerton (as one does), and for the first time I noticed that CVD is credited as the writer.

And I’m no longer surprised by the fact that episode 8 is filled to the brim with clever references to future characters and romances.

Starting from Kathony (ft. Anthony being delusional):

Followed by this clever Sophie reference:

And as we know, there are tons of Philoise foreshadowing throughout the entire episode. Starting from Phillip receiving the most book accurate introduction ever, with an abundance of flowers (I’m patiently waiting for a parallel shot of Eloise arriving at Romney Hall and looking up at Phillip’s ancestral home in a few seasons):

and continuing with Eloise and Phillip wearing the same exact color scheme and basically dancing around each other for the entire episode:

And finally my favorite, because it’s the loudest, piece of philoise foreshadowing:

The Bridgertons are by far the most prolific family in the upper echelons of society. Such industriousness on the part of the viscountess and the late viscount is commendable, although one can find only banality in their choice of names for their children. Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinth — orderliness is, of course, beneficial in all things, but one would think that intelligent parents would be able to keep their children straight without needing to alphabetize their names.
