i hate to say it, but i’m going to be putting a majority of my blogs on an extended hiatus. it’s been a struggle for some time now for me to summon the will and the muse to write for them, and i can’t keep putting myself through this cycle of ‘will i or won’t i’. it hasn’t been good for my mental health, and on top of all the real-world stressors i’m dealing with right now, it’s even worse.
i’m so, so sorry to anyone i’m letting down or anyone who’s been waiting for me to do replies, but i just… i can’t. not right now. i don’t know when i’ll be back, but rest assured i WILL come back - and hopefully i’ll be a lot better when i do.
you might have noticed i only said a majority of my blogs would be put on hiatus. this is because i’m going to try to see if i can keep a few that i’ve wanted to spend more time on and work with open. if i can’t, well… we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. for now, here’s the list of blogs that will be put on hiatus:

so then you run out to the kitchen to start hot-potato-throwing them in there AND YOU’RE SO CLOSE TO BEING DONE but he walks in just before you grab the last box and just starts laughing at you.
There was a brief moment of hesitation, where Link very nearly found himself anxious concerning what he was about to attempt. It was a burst of courage that pushed his forth though, palms cupping cheeks as his mouth slanted over Peatrice’s. The gesture was soft at first, a gentle contact, until the warmth of her lips sent a tingle throughout his being - and suddenly, Link sound himself unable to resist.
Pressing harder, Link couldn’t help but deepen the kiss, the scarred fingertips of one hand moving to thread through blonde strands of hair. As one kiss ended, another seemed to begin, Link’s mouth slanting to capture plump lips a second time. The youth heard himself groan, the thumb that remained against Peatrice’s cheek stroking against her skin even as a shiver ran down his spine. Even when he broke the kiss, Link found that he couldn’t bring himself to pull too far back, the sensation of her breath against his lips too tantalizing.
And though lips parted as if to say something, it appeared as though he were left rather speechless.
Peatrice’s gaze was filled with an almost anxious sort of curiousity as she stared at the green-clad youth standing before her. So far he’d given no verbalized explanation as to why he’d approached her so suddenly, and though she dearly wanted to ask, she was almost afraid to know what it was that he wanted; she could see how he was hesitating, and it was making her nervous.
She inhaled slightly in surprise when the traces of irresolution in his features vanished and his hands rose to gently take hold of her face. She could feel heat blooming in her cheeks, but she barely had time to comprehend what was happening before he leaned in and covered her lips with his.
Her eyes flared at the contact, something akin to disbelief swimming within ultramarine depths. That disbelief was quick to fade though; eyelids slowly drifting shut to obscure blue eye from view. It’s her turn to be hesitant now, her hands drifting as if with a mind of their own to rest lightly upon his chest as she tentatively leaned in to reciprocate the kiss.
It wasn't long after that that Link deepened it; the new pressure behind his lips drawing a sigh from her own as they parted and moved with his. A shiver ran through her when his fingers began to sift through her hair, and she feared for a moment that her knees might actually give way, and she’d be left a trembling heap leaning against him. Lashes fluttered against her cheeks when he kissed her a second time, and somewhere in the back of her mind she admitted to herself that she quite liked how the sensation of the rough pad of his thumb against her skin made her feel.
The groan that escaped him was also most welcome; the sound making her toes curl and a foreign warmth build in her abdomen. Never had she thought she’d enjoy the sound of someone groaning, but now she simply wanted to hear more of it.
When finally he freed her lips, she found that she’d grown surprisingly breathless. Air rushed into her lungs, the quickness of it making her chest heave slightly. Oh, how glad she was when he didn’t pull too far away - she was certain now that if he did she’d fall to the ground. If she’d opened her eyes, she would’ve seen just how mute Link had been rendered; but as it were, she had no desire to open them - or move from his arms - any time soon.
Blow me away. Give my muse a kiss that will make their knees melt, or a kiss that has them gasping for breath. Give my muse a kiss that makes them want more.

Another illness had started to spread around the island community that Fall. While it wasn’t uncommon that such a thing would happen, as when one person got sick many others would follow suit. Usually it wasn’t something to be too concerned about, as they were all usually quick to heal.
This sickness was different, though, in the fact that it killed some of those unfortunate enough to fall ill. It seemed to hit the elderly and the young children the hardest, leaving them almost entirely incapacitated, but those who were healthy and young were not entirely free from its’ threat either.
Peatrice had been unfortunate enough to catch it when she’d been trying to help heal her father. While Peater had shaken it off and was recovering well, the same could not be said for his daughter. Every muscle in her body ached, her lungs burned with every breath. Some days the fever was so bad that she would be stuck in a flurry of hallucinations until the smothering heat lulled her back to sleep. More than once, she’d wondered if she would continue to wake up, or simply fade away as she drifted off.
As her symptoms grew worse, more people became convinced that she wouldn’t make it. Others her age who had been sick had already gotten better - none had taken so worse a turn as she seemed to have been saddled with. It was this fear, that one day she just wouldn’t wake up, that lured Pipit to her house one foggy afternoon.
Half-curled on her side, hazy eyes glanced at her bedroom door as it slowly creaked open and the brunet stepped inside. For a moment, she wondered if she was simply seeing things - it wouldn’t be the first time she’d thought he’d been to see her - but when he neared and his image didn’t shimmer and wave like the fever dreams, her eyes widened; panic flaring hot and painful in her chest as she struggled to sit up.
“P-Pipit, what-... you sh-shouldn’t be here-!”
Words broke off in fragments as a harsh bout of coughing wracked her frame; the sound wet and hoarse and ragged as it tore itself from her throat. She was unable to protest when he rushed towards her, and so overcome by the fit, she barely noticed when his hands found her shoulders and he gently eased her into lying back down.
When the coughing finally stopped, Peatrice slowly turned her head to look at Pipit. She was wheezing still, her chest heaving with the struggle to take each breath, and it was a minute or so before she could muster up the strength to say anything.
“You should go. I-I don’t want to get you sick...”
Her words made his lips curve into a sad sort of smile, and he shook his head rather resolutely. A hand reached out to take one of hers in its grasp, fingers lacing together, and he tried to ignore just how clammy and listless her skin felt against his. “I already had it - there’s no risk of you making me ill, Sweet Pea.”
Relief flooded her at his admission, and it was clear to see that she was rather grateful for that fact. If she were to be truthful, there had been fleeting moments when she really thought that she might die, and one of the more present thoughts that went along with it was that she’d never get to see him again.
That thought was assuaged now, though; and truth be told, she was incredibly grateful that he was there now. As awful as she felt, seeing Pipit - even looking as worried as he was - made her feel marginally better. A tired little smile spread itself across her features, and her hand gave his a weak squeeze before she tugged slightly; a silent request for him to come closer and hold her.
He complied easily enough; his weight on the bed making it dip slightly as he settled next to her and drew her into his arms. When she was situated and comfortable up against him, her head resting in the crook of his arm, she tilted to glance up at him; gaze grateful, but also curious.
“Why’d you come...?”
“I was worried about you, Peatrice. A lot of people are. Some even think-”
He stopped short then, seemingly hesitant to finish what he’d started to say. It wasn’t as if he needed to, though; Peatrice was well aware of what others were probably thinking about her condition.
“That I’m going to die?”
Pipit sighed; a frown overtaking his expression while his arms pulled her closer to him. She could feel how tense he was at the simple mention of what could in fact be a very real possibility, and in an effort to try and ease that tension, she shrugged. “Maybe I will. It happens to everyone at some point, though; so if I don’t get better, then... we’ll know it was just my turn to ‘leave the rotation,’ so to speak.”
Maybe that was the wrong thing to say, because when she finished she only felt his arms tighten around her even more - not uncomfortably so, but a noticeable amount, certainly. A rather awkward silence settled over them after that, and it was several minutes before the brunet spoke again; his voice a hoarse little whisper near her ear.
"The thought of you being removed from the rotation is not funny to me."
A sigh made her shoulders heave, shifting her slightly in his grasp. Worrying away at her lip, Peatrice let her eyes fall shut before turning her face towards his chest and inhaling deeply; his familiar scent tickling at her nose despite the fact that she could hardly smell anything at present. She wanted to apologize; she hadn’t meant to upset him. But saying anything more at the moment felt like the wrong thing to do, so instead she remained quiet.
As the minutes passed, she could feel her body growing heavy with the need to sleep; her breath was already evening out and slowing down in preparation for such. A sleepy yawn escaped her, and as she nuzzled closer into Pipit’s hold, she could feel the tension fading from him as he observed her change in state. His arms shifted, as if he were pulling away, and a sudden fear that he was going to leave made her clutch at him all the more.
“... Stay? Please?”
“... Of course, Sweet Pea. I’m not going anywhere.”
//I actually laughed so hard when I saw this nonnie, so you definitely succeeded at the “for shits and giggles” bit.
Honestly though I don’t really know what a ship with them would be like? I mean... it’d be weird XD when you consider it and everything. But I don’t like to put definite no labels on stuff, y’know? that’s probably the main reason I said neutral, is because i don’t like sticking a limit on things.
It’d be really really interesting to explore, I think? but it’d take a fuck of a lot of work from the both of them, and while I could see Peatrice being mildly fascinated by how Ghirahim looks, I don’t think Peatrice is so remarkable that she’d gain his attentions.

The only reason I didn’t rank it higher is because I don’t have one specific Groose to explore it with yet? So I don’t want to get ahead of myself but at the same time I love it and I’d die happy okay.

Have I ever mentioned that I absolutely adore how you can see their relationship progress in-game throughout the duration of the Peatrice/Peater Gratitude Crystals Side Quest? Honest to god I love how it starts off with her just ignoring him (kind of) like she does everyone else, but then slowly she starts to develop this crush on him until she’s actually head over heels in love. And then at the end how you can actually have Link tell her that he reciprocates her feelings? Like I just- AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH too many feelings NOT ENOUGH WORDS.

<^< it really irritates me how so many people say Link lies to Peatrice if he tells her he loves her too though. like ok cool if you don’t ship it too that’s fine but fi will tell you that you’re in love if you ask her about peatrice. she will tell you. and as much as you might hate to admit it fi is never wrong.
ON A MORE SPECIFIC NOTE, the dynamic between Peatrice and @skyywxrd‘s Link is one of my absolute favourite’s tbh. They’re just so cute like holy shit, and I love how they sort of tip-toe around their feelings for each other? And how so far their relationship has just been this really gradual build up that’s almost unnoticeable but noticeable at the same time, if that makes any sense?
She’s not going to say anything - rather, she’s just going to sit there and smile turn bright red as she thinks about a certain yellow-garbed knight and his freckles.

//SO I actually haven’t put all that much thought into Peatrice’s sexuality and preferences yet, truth be told - typically that’s one of the first few things I try to figure out with my muses when I start them up (though sometimes they cans till surprise me afterwards >v>;). I feel like so far my iteration of Peatrice is heterosexual? Mostly, at the very least - there’s probably a little wiggle room somewhere in there. If I ever got to interact with an SS!Zelda who’d be open to exploring a potential relationship between them, that’d be awesome, and if a ship did start I can see it being really fucking cute, so I think there’s potential? But it’s a very “we’ll see” sort of situation, you know?”
