The easy thing for Alabama Shakes would have been to make another album that sounded similar to its debut. But that’s not what the group wanted.
Watch Alabama Shakes perform songs live from Sound & Color tonight, 10 p.m. ET.

Father John Misty has released the alternate version of his latest album’s title track, “I Love You, Honeybear.” It’s been re-named as “I Loved You, Honeybee” and was released as a heart shaped picture disc on Record Store Day ‘15.
LISTEN HERE.
New vinyl, Smashing Pumpkins, Siamese Dream! This sounds even better on vinyl than I had imagined! Smashing Pumpkins are one of my all time favorite bands, I had Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness on double cassette (and it was played so much the tapes don't play anymore.) but the album that really does it for me is this one...Disarm, Cherub Rock, Rocket, Luna, I love it all!

Kay’s Vinyl Wish List.
With a trip to Toronto and Record Store Day fast approaching I have been giving some serious thought to what albums would make a great addition to the Vinyl Files. Here are a few I have had my eye on for awhile, I mostly like to search for original pressings, but some of these may have to be purchased soon, original or not!
1. Janis Joplin - Pearl
2. Nirvana - Nevermind
3. Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
4. Bukowski - 90 Minutes in Hell (Ace and I saw this one once, we decided against the purchase only to change our minds a few hours later. We raced back to the record shop and it was already gone. Lesson learned, always buy it, always!)
5. The Beatles - Hey Jude LP
Those are the top 5 (that I can think of today!) there are about a million more that I would love to add, but must prioritize!
**Honourable mention goes to Led Zeppelin II & III. I currently have Led Zeppelin I original pressing, great condition. There is also a copy of Led Zeppelin II with no jacket in our collection, the vinyl is not scratched and it is an original press...
Any plans for record store day or is every day possible record store day?!
going through old records in dusty book stores
Wonderful way to pass the time!
Saw Shakey Graves this past weekend, what an amazing performer! Picked up his latest 'And the war came' and a 45 with 'the waters & roll the bones'. Don't ever pass on a chance to catch Shakey Graves live!
Prince and the Revolution. 12'', 45 rpm Maxi single, limited edition purple vinyl.
I've loved this song for as long as I can remember! #1983
Currently spinning.
Buddy Holly/The Crickets 20 golden hits.
This record is pretty old, the jacket is falling apart, it crackles and pops while it plays & it sounds sooo great!

Jeremy Fisher, TheLemon Squeeze. Pink jacket, orange vinyl, fun inside and out! I really love this album, it is a great listen on a rainy day, some songs are fresh and vibrant while others have a more mellow feel. I’ve had the pleasure of catching a live show and it was so much fun, Jeremy Fisher does not disappoint with his vinyl or his live shows!
