Fox Shark

Another thresher themed drawing. Thresher are also known as fox sharks, which is what inspired this drawing. It's a very different style than I normally do, I probably won't be drawing in this style very often.

First Artist of the Month

This is the start of a new series promoting and teaching about artists. This month's artist is Omar Rayyan.

Omar Rayyan is a painter living on Martha's Vineyard Island. He makes paintings largely featuring monsters and fantasy creatures. Rayyan draws inspiration from Northern Renaissance oil painters and 19th century Romantic and Sybolist painters.

In the past, Rayyan has done illustration for young adult's and children's magazines and books. In 2016 he published his own illustrated children's book, "Goblin Market" based on the poem by Christina Rosseti.

Now, Rayyan does personal paintings and commissions.
