You know, I think one reason I like Red Dwarf so much is that it's physically impossible for it to end with everyone in heterosexual marriages and one to three children. they escaped the sitcom curse! Good for them

i think they should be allowed to be happy
a collection of bullshit that gradually gets lazier
i'd never seen red dwarf and knew nothing about it. and then on a whim i read the two grant naylor books. and then something sick and evil happened to me. and now i'm midway through season 4.
(the lack of kryten isn't bc i don't love him, it's bc i didn't get a quick handle on his angles so he never ended up getting doodled while i was watching lol. someday)
watching red dwarf for the first time and i just got to s3, this is my understanding of what’s happened to holly
I can't find find it but like. You know that meme where where bi exes who are now in new relationships pass by one another? That's McGruderxKochanski and ListerxRimmer to me.
also I think they missed a major opportunity in the show for Cat to do the cat thing of just like. sitting down on people's (Lister's) laps the Second they're about to get up, and then being indignant when they have to shove him off
Do you ever think about how every episode of the first season (and s2? Can't remember) Holly sends out an S.O.S distress call? Even after 3 million years in deep space? Do you think he sends one out every day? Do you think he's been sending out a distress call every day for the past 3 million years? Do you think any of them reached anyone at all, but they could do nothing to help because the radiation was too deadly? Do you think they reached no one? Was Holly calling out to the empty void for 3 million years?
You ever think about how in universe, the Red Dwarf itself must have become a piece of folklore, a space-age Mary Celeste. A ship that fell entirely silent one day, where none of it inhabitants ever seen or heard from again, bound to get people's attention. Did anyone try looking for them? Were there lone space explorers who went out hunting, convinced they'd be the ones to fjnd the ship, only to return home empty-handed, or ended up lost themselves? Were there documentaries, songs, poems, and stories written about it? About what might have happened and who was to blame? Did anyone ever get close, or was everyone way off base? Did it become a horror story, a warning? Don't join the JMC, or you'll end up like the guys on the Red Dwarf. Did they get a memorial built somewhere
i'm so obsessed with these photos i found today. s1 lister my babyy😭
(I wish the images were in better quality💔💔)
Chapters: 8/8 Fandom: Red Dwarf (UK TV) Summary:
When you think about the sea, you think of dolphins, sharks and whales. When you think of disasters at sea, you think of the Titanic. And when you think of disasters in space, you think of Red Dwarf.
A hundred years after the mining freighter went missing, it still captures the imagination, conjuring up both horror and awe in equal measure, as laymen and scientists alike attempt to uncover what truly happened to the ship and its crew.
This book will not, miraculously, solve the mystery. But, it’ll do its best.
—
Aka, this is a mock non-fiction in-universe book about the disappearance of Red Dwarf from the POV of a descendant of the original crew. Enjoy?
On that note, I think it'd be so cool to put together like a dracula-style Red Dwarf project using made up newspaper articles, transcripts of documentaries, interviews etc to tell the story of the ship's disappearance from the point of view of the people back home
No, no she doesn’t.
