Logan normally didnât wake up to find himself on a hospital gurney. But some asshole bystander decided that third degree burns from head to toe was worthy of sending the unconscious and seemingly dying mutant to the hospital. Now he had to convince the doctors to let him goâŠ. without using his claws, these were after all innocent people.
âI.. hmng.. told you. Hng Iâm fine. Lemme outta here!â he grunted out as he held back one of the interns with charred bloodied hands. The staff struggled and fought with Logan despite his persistence. Then a female, not a nurse but definitely a higher up, judging by her attire, held an intimidatingly long needle with enough sedatives to knock out an elephant. With and angry no nonsense glare she quickly approached Logan. Loganâs eyes widened and he reeled back. All bets were off now.
âGet that thing away from me, sister. Unless ya wanna eat that hand.â He held up his arms ready to fight, and to tear through any machines or medical equipment that got too close.
âI think you might need a dart gun!âÂ
The deep voice called out loudly over the commotion in the ER. The doctors and nurses alike all peering around briefly before realising who it was and returning to what they were doing. The collective exasperated sigh was audible. Doctor Gregory House, head of diagnostic medicine of Princeton Plainsboro Teaching Hospital stood just outside of the room. Towering over the bustling line of staff that moved around him hurriedly.Â
House smiled while looking directly at the patient. âLet him calm down... those injuries are definitely painful, heâs either too worked up or too stupid to feel it yetâ

East Austin love poems.
Ash wasnât surprised by his actions. Honestly she was more surprised by the fact that he didnât bring up some health tips to annoy the other two people. She patted the empty seat before, placing a hand on his shoulder to stop him from leaving. Â
â You might as well sit down and get used to them. Your appetizer has already been ordered.â Ash told him, with a bright smile. â Plus iâm paying. So free food.â She nodded to the chair. â Now sit and get ready to eat.â
House once again rolled his eyes as he sat down. His right leg outstretched fully under the table to limit his discomfort. His foot brushing against Joannaâs. He didnât move it, instead shooting her a look as though daring her to say something. His left hand reached up to slightly unzip his leather jacket to snake his arm inside, groping around for his bottle of Vicodin before finally wrapping his fingers around the plastic cylinder and extracting it. House kept his eyes on his âdateâ as he popped the top of the bottle off. Lifting it directly to his lips and tipping his head back in order to swallow a number of the small pills.Â
House made a satisfied âAhhhhâ sound once he had finished. Replacing the lid on the container and noisily placing the orange bottle with its label side toward Joanna upon the table in front of him. She looked alarmed to say the least. House pointed at the bottle and gave her a puzzled look.
âWhat? do you want one?â
Ash sighed, reaching up to pinch the bridge of her nose.
â So um-â She said, shaking her head as Ash turned back to the other man. â You were saying something about your work.â
The man turned his gaze back to her, obviously happy with the distraction. â Y-Yeah. Iâm a researcher for a popular website. I mostly see what people do on it, and recommend other apps or games they may enjoy.â
â So youâre basically the guy who tells me that i want to use Blue Time shampoo, even though iâve blocked them?â She asked, raising her brow to look at him.
He chuckled uncomfortably, reaching up to rub the back of his neck. â Yeah, uh- sorry about that.â
â And what do you do?â Joanna asked, turning to stare at House. it was obvious that she was only asking out of habit, and the uneasy smile truly proved it. â I understand that youâre a doctor.âÂ
âWell itâs good that you understand that⊠I would hate to explain what a doctor is to youâ House said lazily, leaning back in his chair to click his fingers noisily at a passing waiter to get their attention. He pointed at his full glass of whiskey and said loudly âgonna need another real soon!â. The waiter seemed taken aback by his rudeness but hastily nodded his head and hurried away to get another glass for House. The doctor returned to his normal seated position and his gaze once again rested upon Joanna. âYes⊠Iâm head of diagnostics at Princeton Plainsboro and you sirâ House turned his attention to Ashâ date. narrowing his eyes slightly. âAre a parasiteâŠâ House reached out to wrap his fingers around the glass in front of him, quickly bringing it to his lips and sculling the lot, grimacing a little as the alcohol burned his throat on the way down. He slammed the glass back down upon the table rather nosily, shaking the plates and glasses that were on it.Â
House then turned his attention to Ash, licking his lips of the whiskey that resided there. His eyes now wide and seeming to glow blue. the edges of his mouth curling upwards slightly into a small smile.Â
âWhere did you find these two Ash? The bus station?â
She was trying not to laugh. trying really hard not to laugh. Her teeth bit into her lip, but at the mention of the Bus stop, she couldnât hold it in anymore. Ash chaffed, reaching up to cover her mouth.Â
But even though Ash found his antics amusing, the other two did not. Joanna stood up her hands slamming down on the table. â I have never been privy to such a rude person!â She grabbed her coat, and purse before hurrying out the door.Â
Ash gave him a pointed look that was slightly defused by the twitching at the corner of her lips. â See what you did?âÂ
House stared back, also unable to hide the subtle but telling tics now presenting themselves upon his facial features that showed that he was truly proud of himself. âWhat?â he asked her sarcastically while shrugging his shoulders slightly. The waiter came back and refilled the doctors glass with whiskey. House immediately grasped the glass firmly in his hand before raising it to toast in Ashâs direction.
âHereâs to you never setting me up with one of your friends ever againâÂ
House closed his mouth abruptly at the girls question and gave her a puzzled look. It lasted just a moment before the brilliant doctor began to speak again.Â
âBelieve it or not, I actually mean serious situation when I say the phrase âserious situationâ⊠what do you mean when you say it?  a non serious situation? a party? a peyote ceremony?â
As she kept her gaze on the doctor, Leah blinked at what he had said to her. Being in the hospital was obviously a serious situation and she did laugh at what he did, but she didnât understand why he felt the need to do this. Hospitals were places in which individuals who were ill, injured, or otherwise in need of medical care temporarily resided. Sure, it was fine to light the tone of a troubling situation, but what?
âAre you saying that you walking in with a boombox playing is a serious situation?â
âPerhaps I am conducting an experiment on the effects of rock music on illnesses?â House shot back sharply. The Boombox on his shoulder still blaring loudly. He reached up with his free hand up turned the volume knob down until the speakers were emitting a sound barely louder than a whisper. House gave a look of relief and swung the audio system off of his shoulder and down onto a counter next to him. Looking back up at the girl after he took his hand off of the handle.
âOr maybe I am just trying to get out of clinic duty... which is a weekly routine for me by the way, I take it you donât come here very oftenâ
The doctor peered blankly at the card that the woman had slid toward his hand. A small smile began to appear on his handsome features as he tilted his head up to gaze once again into the others eyes.Â
âIs that it? your qualification is literally a hand written card with your name and phone number on it⊠thatâs hardly a qualification Miss Rodriguezâ
âDo me a favorâŠâ She leaned forward, pointing to his computer. âLook up the MI6 explosion in 2012.â Alice had a bemused look on her face. She knew that it would blame it on a one Raoul Silva, formerly known as Tiago Rodriguez. âMy qualifications will be among the numerous articles.âÂ
âIâm not typing the word âexplosionâ into google... are you insane? the black hawk helicopters will be landing on the roof within three minutesâ House smirked back. He turned toward his computer and moved the mouse to bring his internet browser up. The doctor then looked up at the woman before turning the monitor around to face her.Â
âYou do it...â He said slowly. Pushing his keyboard and mouse over the smooth wooden surface toward the blonde female. âAnd no torrenting... my boss is already highly suspicious of the 56 Gigs of downloads that I manage to accumulate dailyâ
"SLAP" ( because why not?)
House lifted a hand to cup the cheek that Ash had just struck. Slowly turning his head back toward his patient to face her head on. The flesh stung fiercely under his palm. No doubt turning pink and raw from the impact. The doctor stared at Ash through wide-open eyes. His mouth slightly open in a twisted look of utter surprise.
âWhat the hell?â House said softly. The woman having knocked his equilibrium off enough that, for the first time ever. House had little to say.

She was almost shaking with anger, her eyes dark. â Do you really think that was appropriate behavior?â Ash smacked his arm. â Honestly, I canât believe you. I asked you for a favor! âDonât be an ass to my dad while youâre pretending to be my boyfriend!â The only thing iâve asked you for-â She sighed. â Do you know what-â Ash let out a deep breathe, glaring at him.
House glared right back, taking his hand away from his cheek slowly to reveal the reddened and slightly swollen flesh. âYou ask me for a lot, and I do itâ House began angrily, his voice rising with each word that he spoke. âYour problem, it would seem⊠is that I do it on MY own terms and do not stick to yoursâ
House took a step toward Ash, his cane clicking loudly on the polished floor. Practically nose to nose with his friend. âMy issue is, you know how I am, you donât expect anything else from me and yet this is how you react⊠why?â
â Because maybe i thought that for once,â She told him, not backing down from from him. Ash poked her finger into his chest, letting out more anger than was probably necessary. â For once you could keep that big fucking mouth shut about how we met? That you wouldnât let out that i was domestically abused for a long ass time! i never told him! I didnât want him to know! Now he wnts to stay, and thatâs the last thing i want!âÂ
apparently someone had told Wilson about their bickering. Or heâd simply heard them through the door, because the man in question stuck his head around the door. â As much as i enjoy hearing you two bicker about your latest date. There are patients here that need rest. So if you would be so kind as to take this outside?â
House turned his head slightly toward Wilson and raised an eyebrow at him. âAs you are an oncologist, I assure you that most of your patients will be getting a lot of rest and quite soon James...â
House did not wait for a reply from his friend. Instead he turned on his heel and began limping toward the hospital exit, not particularly fussed as to whether Ash followed him or not at this point. House fumed about what she had said to him. Blaming him for her father wanting to stay. If her father was such an undesirable person then why was she even associating with him? The endless questions bounced around inside his head as he reached the glass door. Ready to push it open to head outside.

âIâm not sure⊠can you?â House said arrogantly, lifting his cane up to slam it down noisily on the desk in front of him. The noise echoed loudly in the room, more than likely causing the woman a bit of a shock.
Houseâs eyes widened as he continued to stare at the female, his piercing blue hues boring straight into her. He leaned over the desk, both hands now gripping onto the edge.
âTell me, if I were to have a patient in my care that seemed to be extra special⊠would that interest you or not?â
âWell I wonât if you keep that attitude up, Sir. But congratulations on acting like a high school English teacher.â A sigh passed quietly from Bobbiâs lips as she stared at the man, trying to figure out what the purpose of the manâs comment was exactly. Sheâd had her fair share of people that tried patiences, and her mood wasnât ready to deal with another.
She didnât react as he leaned closer, continuing to stare with an almost bored expression on her face. At least the events would be a small story to tell over beer and dinner, but those thoughts quickly ended as he spoke again.
âDepends on what type of special weâre talking about there, Sir. A certain type of special does interest me, but I do need to ask- since when did Doctors share the personal information of patients?â
âI can assure you, I am much more qualified than any high school teacher... probably better looking tooâ Â House replied smugly, he then darted his eyes around suspiciously as though making sure that nobody else was around. It was obviously just for dramatic effect, a joke if you will. House rarely took anything seriously. the doctor stopped moving his eyes about after a few seconds and leaned even closer toward the woman.
âWell... Iâm not a very good doctorâ
Thank you all once again for your patience with me. I solemnly promise I will have every draft done by this friday night.
MYDRIASIS // Molly & House
âYou need to calm downâŠâ House said slowly. âSo no to the injection⊠although I would imagine that a small prick in your arm pales in comparison to have an ice-pick hammered through your eye socket, but I doubt you remember any of thatâŠâ House smiled briefly before opening his mouth to sigh loudly.
âEver had Vicodin?â
She eyed him sceptically for a few seconds. âVicodinâ âŠThe word didnt correlate with anything in her memory. Maybe it was testament to the strength of Mollyâs will that she retained her drive even after her mind had been shatteredâŠSo she compromised.
âSo, You give me the âŠVicodin, and then youâll help me find Grace?â She posed the question cautiously.
House pursed his lips and darted his eyes to the side before saying in a somewhat over-enthusiastic tone, âSure!â. A wide smile now over his features as he limped over to the girl. Allowing his cane to fall with a loud clatter to the floor just behind him. The doctor was in no rush, the cane simply got in the way of him rifling through each one of the pockets of his jacket to search for his own personal supply of the narcotic drug. Finally locating and extracting the small bottle, he clenched the vessel in one hand and unscrewed the lid with the other before pouring a small amount of pills into his palm.
âHow... many would you like?âÂ
Knowing full well that a reasonable response from Babydoll was doubtful at best. He still wanted to feel as though she was been given an option, and therefore some control.
Wow anon get a life. They play a fantastic House..
Aw thank you sweetheart :)
You suck at playing House. Give up.
âRoman Polanskiâs house?â
What sort of name is House? are you a building?
âWhat kind of question is this? are you a moron?â
do you know what an artist and a sniper have in common? Details. Like when a touch of color is out of place. When a shadow does not match with its surroundings. Or when a shape is not where it is suppose to be in. The only difference is the stakes. Mine are higher.
âI would say there is a great deal of difference between the two occupations... although you could be a sniper who may consider themselves some kind of expressionist artist of sorts...â
MYDRIASIS // Molly & House
âWhoa nowâ House said calmly. He placed a hand on the girls shoulder and pushed her gently back onto the bed. He made sure to do it in a non threatening manner. He had noticed the sudden panic that had filled her eyes at the mention of bringing in another doctor. A sedative was an option, but he was unsure of how to administer it without putting her into a full blown psychotic episode. House thought hard for a moment. He did not want to make her unable to move yet still have the capacity to know everything that was going on. An opiate of some kind would be perfect. But which one?Â
âBabyâŠâ House said. shivering a little at saying her name. It seemed wrong to say it to an underage girl. He was glad that he was alone in the room. âAre you okay with an injection⊠do you know what an injection is?â
âŠInjectionâŠBabyâs face went blank for a few moments as the word rang around her shattered state of consciousness, searching for meaning. Finally, she seemed to acquire some, and eyed him with apprehension.
âInjection? Clozaril? Zyprexa? Risperdal? Ativan? Valium?â The list rattled off her lips - it was actually only a fraction of a longer list that she had compiled from her time in the hospital, and she knew effects of them all. She shook her head. âNo! IâŠI needâŠâ She struggled to explain. She sighed with frustration before looking up at him hard. ââŠYou cant take away, my thoughts, IâŠI need to be able to think! I need to find Grace!â
âYou need to calm down...â House said slowly. âSo no to the injection... although I would imagine that a small prick in your arm pales in comparison to have an ice-pick hammered through your eye socket, but I doubt you remember any of that...â House smiled briefly before opening his mouth to sigh loudly.
âEver had Vicodin?â
Roxxan wasnât phased by the man. She actually took a few moments to even acknowledge him. She finally looked up at him a small smile on her face. âTheyâve warned me about you and honestly im not scared. Iâll be here until its Cuddy has me leaveâ
âI didnât expect you to be frightened⊠I am after all crippled or did you fail to notice?â House shot back sarcastically. He leaned forward to reach his small hi-fi system that he kept on his desk, pressing the power button on top. Classical music began to play quietly out of the speakers. House shifted his hand to reach the volume knob and began to turn it up steadily until the piano began blaring throughout the office. House looked back up at the woman and retracted his hand before smiling.
âI need music to think⊠hope you donât mind!â
Roxxan just smirked. âNot at allâ She said softly pulling out some paperwork. She looked downs not seeming phased  by anything.  She took a drink of her coffee and started working. This wasnât going to be easy for him. She wasnât one to back down or get annoyed. So this was going to be fun
House cursed under his breath while rolling his eyes. The nerve of this woman. The Doctor then quickly leaned over his desk and moved the mouse to his computer. The screen coming on within a few seconds from its standby mode and flickering to life. He brought up his iTunes menu and began to scroll down through the thousands of artists that he had stored on the hard-drive. Finally settling on âMetallicaâ>âOneâÂ
Smirking. House then leaned back in his chair with his arms behind his head. Closing his eyes he listened to the legendary guitar riff. Knowing what was to come.Â
Meanwhile, outside his office. Patients and staff alike were becoming disturbed by the sheer volume of the music emitting from behind the glass doors.Â
