Happy 18th to one of my best friends, Amy! I’ve known this amazing friend for over seven years now and honestly she’s one of the best people I know. She always knows how to make me laugh and smile and supports through thick and thin. I’m so so so lucky to have her in my life let alone as my bestie and I’ll never stop trying to prove to her how incredible she is since she has a hard time believing it. I made her a Dino themed white and milk chocolate chip vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and sugar cookie decorations to celebrate her birthday! I hope you can all join me in wishing her all the best xx

Sorry it’s been so so so long! A Levels are honestly the most time consuming and hardest thing... But anyway! I hope you Cherries are all happy and healthy! Today I made a Vanilla chocolate chip muffin cake with chocolate buttercream icing for my brother’s girlfriend’s birthday! The decoration on it has become quite a staple birthday cake design for me and, although simple, I it hope looks elegant! See you guys soon xx

Heya my cherries! Sorry for the lack of posting recently I’ve been so so so busy studying for exams and hope to be back to posting once a week soon! A few days ago I made a Lemon Curd Cake with Vanilla Buttercream for one of my best friends’ birthday! She is honestly the most amazing person and I admire her so much and love her so much; she’s basically my older sister. I don’t know how she manages to put up with me on a daily basis but I’m so so so lucky that she does! I can’t believe she’s 18 and that I’ve known her for about seven years now. Here’s to all those years and to many many more to come! Love you so much acca! Xx

Heya my lovely Cherries!!! I hope you’re all doing fantastically and are looking forward to Christmas! I’m so sorry I haven’t been very active recently, I’ve been studying a lot for some exams that I’ve got after the holidays so I haven’t really had much time to bake sadly 😓 But today I managed to make Chocolate, Walnut and Coffee Liqueur Marble Muffins for my Dad’s birthday! I want to wish him the best birthday ever and thank him for everything he’s ever done for me 💜 He is the best dad in the world and I’m so lucky to be his daughter; I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for him. He always supports me no matter what and is always there for me whether I need him not; he always has my back. I love him so so so much and I’m so proud of who he is! I’d love it if you guys could join me in wishing the best man in the world a happy birthday xx

Haha good question! I actually find baking really therapeutic and relaxing so everything I make is always from scratch 😊 The only time I’ll ever use anything pre-made (which I very seldom do) is when I’m very very very pushed for time and it’s only ever icing. But everything on my blog is made by me from scratch! xx

Well my family have a special recipe of our own! But I have used the BBC recipe before and it’s really quite good! If you don’t have a griddle I’m pretty sure a frying pan could work but you’d just have to watch the heat just to make sure they don’t burn xx

Currants are a PitA to get ahold of around here, but the cakes sound delicious.

You can use raisins or sultanas as a replacement if they’re easier to find! xx

Are welsh cakes the same as pancakes?

No they’re not actually! Welsh cakes are made from flour, butter, currants, eggs, milk and spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg and are served hot or cold dusted with sugar. The cakes are also known as Griddle Cakes or Bake stones within Wales because they are traditionally cooked on a bake stone or a cast-iron griddle which is rubbed with butter and then placed on the fire or cooker. They have a texture of somewhere between a cake and a scone, and like a scone instead of a batter are made from a dough! Such a good question though xx

Two posts in one day?! I just got back from visiting my family in Wales over the weekend and today I made Bake Stones (what we call Welsh Cakes) with my Nana! In my family the second you make them, they disappear that same second! 😂 As I was plating them my Grancha kept sneaking over and taking four at a time! I had such a lovely time and although my Nana hadn’t baked in over thirty to forty years, she remembered how to do every step; as soon as I showed her, it all came flooding back! xx

Heya my cherries! I hope you’ve all had a lovely week! On Friday I made Chocolate Chip Orange muffins for my Dad, Cousins, Uncle and Aunt! They seemed to go really well even though they’re really quite simple to make; but that doesn’t stop them from being a lot of fun! Sometimes less is more xx

Heya my cherries! I just wanted to wish one of my best friends, Zoe, the happiest 19th birthday ever! I want to thank her for always being there for me no matter what and for sticking by me at my best and worst! I hope she has the most amazing day, especially when eating the Chocolate chip, cookies and cream, vanilla cake (Yes, another catchier title is needed😂) I made for her. Decorated with: Chocolate fingers, Digestive nibbles and chocolate buttercream icing. I love you so much Zoe and I can’t wait to see you soon xx
