"You and Ryul were inseparable. Late nights together talking shits about the show you're watching, those drunk nights where he would take care of you, or the extra time you'd spent together after practice. But one misunderstanding and an argument ruined it all." ✧Inspired by "Never Let Go - LGNSHOT"✧

You didn't know what went wrong.
Ryul is more distant toward you, his eyes don't meet yours whenever you talk, and he seems to be avoiding you if you're in the same room with him.
No more spending time together from 2 am til morning, no more going to the cafe near the studio after practice. It feels like he's going farther away from you intentionally.
It was another usual evening at the dorm, everyone had just come back from the studio. You immediately went to the kitchen looking for anything to drink in the fridge. It was an intense practice, and your throat felt like it was about to collapse if you didn't hydrate it right away.
Everyone pretty much just went to their own rooms, probably going straight to sleep. Usually, you'd come home late after practice with Ryul, bringing home coffee or any drink from a cafe near the studio for the others. But these days, you've been coming home on time.
You took a can of soda from the fridge and went to sit at the countertops with your feet dangling. You were lost in your own thoughts, trying to reminisce and find out why Ryul was acting like this with you, but you couldn't remember any bad interactions with him. Being with him was always pleasant, comforting even.
"You okay there?"
You looked up to see Woojin making his way to the fridge to get himself a drink. The light from the fridge made you realize that you were sitting in the dark the whole time. Woojin turned on the lights and stood beside you, drinking his own can of soda.
"Why are you in the dark alone? That's creepy." He teases.
"I like the dark...?" You hesitantly answered.
You don't want anyone to know that you have your mind on Ryul and how bothered you are with it these past days.
Woojin chuckled beside you, probably thinking you sounded stupid with that sentence.
"What's up with you and Ryul? You know I've been waiting for a coffee from you guys."
You were surprised that he noticed, well, maybe it was easy to spot because you're usually glued to Ryul. It wasn't surprising at all.
"Huh, what? Of course we're okay. We were just... too tired from practice and didn't have time to grab some coffee on the way home." You explained, trying to assure him that everything is fine between you and Ryul.
"Yeah, right. Don't bullshit me Y/n, you think we didn't notice the way you two suffocate each time you're in the same room? Or the silence between ya'll? It was pretty obvious." Woojin countered.
Well, maybe you could ask him to help you. You were confused as to why Ryul is acting this way, and it's pretty agonizing on your side to ignore each other.
"Yeaaah... Here's the thing Woo, I don't know what's up with him. He has been avoiding me these past, like, what? a week? And I couldn't remember if I did anything wrong..."
You were actually feeling bad because you thought maybe you did something that upsets Ryul, but you didn't memorize it.
Woojin squints his eyes at you, probably trying to figure out Ryul too.
"Hmmm... What's the date today?" Woojin suddenly asked, taking you off guard with that question.
You sniffled a laugh while looking at the date on your phone.
"It's May 16th." You showed your screen at Woojin.
He nods his head knowingly. You thought he figured something out, a way to help you, or what's wrong with Ryul, maybe? But why does he need to know about the date?
"He's on his period." Woojin said that flatly, it took you a second to register what he had just said before laughing, hitting his shoulder playfully.
That's when both of you hear the cracking sound of a door opening. It was Ryul, he didn't even acknowledge the both of you and went straight to the bathroom without a single glance.
Your laughter silenced, and so is Woojin's. He glances at you, you are still looking in the direction where Ryul was, your face flat, even after the laugh. Woojin immediately catches what's going on.
"Ooh, that's sharp..." Woojin grimaces. He put his hand on your shoulder, then looks at you in the eyes. "I think you should talk to him first, even when he doesn't want to. Take some time together, the two of you." He suggested.
You were contemplating it, you were scared even. What if Ryul doesn't want to talk to you? What if it turns into a fight?
But for now, you can only nod at Woojin's suggestion. He gives you a reassuring nod and a tight smile.

It was another day of filming for LNGSHOT. Today, all of you are going to do some challenges for a Youtube video.
At one point, the producer asks them to split into two teams. Usually, you'll pick Ryul as one of your team members, but you were so scared that he would deny it. You're not risking it and getting yourself embarrassed in front of the camera, so you went straight to Louis.
The filming process went as usual, laughing everywhere, Woojin's cheating, and Louis being the groups baby.
But one thing is 4sho, Ryul is not being chaotic as usual, he's just kinda... there. He would crack a joke here and there, but that's about it. At this point, the staff members probably notices the huge transparent gap between you and Ryul.
"Okay we will do the 'how well do you know each others' challenge." The producer announced. "Y/n and Ryul is up first."
Your heart stopped beating for a second too long, you can already feel the awkwardness creeping up your spine. But you make your way in front of the camera anyway, without looking at Ryul of course.
You could hear his boots thumping closer, you finally turn your head toward him, still avoiding eye contact. You were looking everywhere but his eyes. His shoulder, the button on his shirt, or the blonde tips of his hair. Ryul, on the other side, looked you in the eyes without a single flinch.
The challenge began, you two answered each question the PD threw at you, and all of them were correct answers. Of course, since you two are the grand duo of LNGSHOT, you would know each other's habits or favorite foods obviously.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
You all went straight home after the filming. You were not letting Ryul avoid you anymore. You had planned to talk to him no matter what, you'll follow him anywhere he goes if you need to, and that's exactly what you're doing right now.
You want to talk to him, but you couldn't build up the courage to say a word. So here you are now standing behind the couch in the living room while Ryul sits there watching a random drama.
"Stop being a creep Y/n."
Finally, a single sentence from Ryul to you after some days. He probably wants you to leave him alone based on that sentence, but you're not giving up.
You make your way to stand in front of him, blocking his view from the TV.
"I need to talk to you." You sternly said.
He looks up at you, looking unbothered as ever, sipping his drink that he has been holding.
"Did I do something that upsets you?" You asked almost pleadingly.
Ryul looked at you, not saying a single word for a concerning second.
"What are you talking about?" He questions you back.
You were confused. He says that as if he didn't ignore her the whole week.
"Hey, now. Don't act like you didn't actually treat me as if I'm nonexistent these past few days." You snapped. You were annoyed. You didn't get it. What does he want? You look at him with literal fury in your eyes.
Ryul stared at you for a second too long after you said that. There was a hint of anger in his eyes as he tried to hold back. "You really want to know?" He quietly say.
"I'm sick of you Y/n. I'm sick of you clinging to me 24/7. You're annoying, loud. I can't stand being with you anymore."
That was the harshest thing you've ever told your whole life about yourself. You were… speechless, your mouth opening and closing, but nothing is coming out of it.
You couldn't believe what he just said to you, your heart is broken into a thousand pieces, and you could feel it continuously breaking apart as your eyes let out a single tear, hardly noticed due to the dim light.
Ryul was also speechless, not moving a single inch at all. He tried to process it, the things he said about you. He regrets it. It feels like a blur, he couldn’t control his mouth. Why did he say that you?
He was about to say something, but you were already running away to your room, slamming the door and locking it behind you.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
Ryul never meant to say all of that shit. The truth is, he is silently suffering too.
You and he are undeniably close, the other members know that, the staff knows that. Heck, even the fans labeled you two as the grand duo of the group.
The thing is, Ryul likes you, he has this growing feeling towards you. He was in denial at first, he's also super confused about why he has this feeling for you, and he is scared that he will ruin the friendship between the two of you just because he has feelings for you. That would be dumb.
But you know what's dumber? He ruined his friendship by saying stupid shit and hurting your feelings.
He was too scared. What if you notice? What if you don't like him that way? That's why he decided that it's probably best to keep some distance from you.
Until he heard you laughing your heart out with Woojin in the kitchen after practice.
He doesn't know why, but Woojin making you laugh made him feel this rage, some sort of jealousy.
He pressed his ears against the door, listening quietly as you laugh with Woojin in the kitchen. His heart was thumping hard in his chest, trying to break free. He hated how it felt, he hated that your laughs weren't because of his jokes, he hated how you sounded so happy and carefree with Woojin and not him.
He then opened his door, announcing his presence to you and Woojin. The laughs immediately died down, which hurts him even more. Thinking that you probably hated seeing him.
He went to the bathroom, he didn't know why he went there, and he didn't even need to use the bathroom. It was just the closest room he could hide in. He looks at his reflection in the mirror, gripping the sink tightly, trying to control his emotions. He could see anger in his eyes, jealousy, and sadness.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
It was another day for you all. Today you will be working on a new song, making the lyrics and all those things.
Ryul was sitting on the couch they have at the studio, trying to figure out the lyrics for his rap line. But he couldn't focus, his mind just kept getting back at you, at how your face distorted from anger to sadness in just seconds. And you make it even harder by just existing in the same room as him.
Ohyul notices how bothered he is. The members knew about their fight in the living room, well... it's your own faults for arguing too loudly while the others were trying to sleep.
"Did you mean what you said?" Ohyul flopped himself on the couch, startling Ryul with his question.
"I said what exactly?" Ryul tried to act dumb in front of Ohyul, hoping he wouldn't bring up the argument.
"Oh, please. When you said she's annoying and loud, and... all of that talk about you being sick of her." Ohyul whispered with a deadpan.
Ryul looks at him, his face is flat, Ohyul couldn't figure out if he was mad, sad, or annoyed. But Ryul just sighs and goes back to scribbling lyrics on the paper.
"Dude. You can't be like this forever with her, you have to do something. We're literally a group Ryul. We solve our problem, don't just wait until it dies down. Besides, I know you don't feel that way about her, I know you love her man. Just... you know, don't give up with your own feelings." Ohyul said, slapping Ryul's shoulder as he got up, then leaving Ryul with his own mind.
Ohyul was right, he shouldn't just run away from his problem, and besides that, he couldn't keep being like this with you. It breaks him in ways he never imagined before.
Later that night, when everyone is asleep, Ryul is sitting on his desk with a pen clutched in between his fingers. He kept thinking about you, about those things he said to you, and how sorry he feels. And apparently, it gives him ideas for his line in the new song, he was too scared to directly apologize to you. Coward.
So he will be rapping the apology to you.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
It's finally the day to record the new song, ‘Never Let Go’.
Everyone has gathered in the studio, evaluating their own lyrics and warming up their vocal cords.
You were standing, pacing back and forth trying to memorize your line. But you were distracted, Ryul has been staring at you, sometimes making some awkward eye contact.
You were still mad at him, the things he said just couldn't be erased from your mind. The way he looked so unbothered while saying all that made you positive that he truly hates you.
So you have been avoiding him too. That's what he wants, isn't it? But why does he keep invading your space today?
It's finally time to record your own lines. You and the other finished yours, then it's time for Ryul to record his.
You watch him as he makes his way inside the recording room, his eyes glued to the paper he has been clutching. He looks nervous for some reason, and you don't know why, he wasn't usually like this. Is it because of you watching? Is it that awkward if you watch him or something?
He clears his throat, getting ready to sing his part, waiting for the music to start.
"Let's start." He told the producer.
The music starts, his head bobbing to the beat of the music, his eyes closed, fully invested in focusing.
"Yeah, I wanna get a chance,"
He starts singing. You can't help it, but you were watching him intensely. You miss his voice, when he talks to you, when he makes jokes about your hair in the morning, his laughter, everything.
"넌 내게 항상 priceless." (You're always priceless to me)
He looks at you, meeting your eyes with such passion as he sings deeply from his heart.
"값을 매길 수가 없지, don't get away, 영원하길 바라, 나 timeless " (There's no way to put a price on you, don't get away, I hope this lasts forever, I'm timeless)
Those lyrics make you realize that he is talking to you. Through the melody, the way his eyes lock on you, like you could disappear if he blinks, the way he sways with the melody.
"Never let go, never let go, I never. 멈출 수 없어, 나는 근데 이미 알아 답을" (Never let go, never let go, I never. I can't stop, but I already know the answer)
He stretches his arm in your direction, as if trying to reach you and hold you tightly in his arms, never letting go.
"Take me by my hand, baby, stay right by my side. I know you hate me, but I always try."
He ended his rap with desperation in his voice.
You were mesmerized, you didn't even realize that you had been locking eyes this whole time. And it feels unreal for once.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
That night after the recording, Ryul immediately walks up to you asking for your time.
Ohyul immediately realizes what's going on, he wants to give you two some time together to talk it all out, so he takes Louis and Woojin out for a shopping spree at the night market.
You agreed to talk to Ryul. You two were in the kitchen, Ryul had quietly made you a cup of hot chocolate and give it to you as you sat on the countertop. He stood in front of you, holding his own cup of hot chocolate.
He seems hesitant, but he tries his hardest to keep his eyes on you, building up the courage to say a single word.
"So?" You flatly say.
He opens his mouth, then closes it, then opens it again. But his voice just wouldn't come out. But his head is full of words, apologies, explanations, and confessions. His heart is thumping so hard that it physically hurts.
He puts his cup down on the counter beside you. Then slowly... he moved closer to you, standing in between your legs as he embraces you into a hug. You were surprised, you did not see this coming.
Ryul snuggled into the crook of your neck, your smell physically calms him down like magic. You could feel his warm breath blowing slowly on the side of your neck.
"I'm sorry..." He breathed out. "I didn't mean all of it... I was stupid Y/n. I'm sorry. I was so scared of you not liking me back, so I pushed you away... I was jealous. I don't know why I'm jealous, but hearing you laugh with someone other than me? It kills me." He explains.
His voice is so quiet, like he's scared to startle you if he talks too loud. His hold on you feels tight, clutching you like it hurts to let go.
"I... I love you. I know it's stupid, but I can't help it. When you're around, everything seems to have brighter colors, your voice somehow soothes me down, and your touch is just... irresistible." He rambled.
You put your cup aside, then embrace him in a tighter hug.
"Idiot."
You said that as if it's nothing. You could feel him clutching on to your shirt as he snuck his face deeper into your neck, rambling I'm sorries.
You reach for his cheeks, making him look at you. You stare at him for a second before slowly leaning in, closing the gap between the two of you.
It was a soft kiss at first, you two were just feeling each other. Then he started moving his lips, pulling you deeper into the kiss as he held the back of your neck.
Seconds later, it's becoming a more sloppy kiss. You reach for his hair, grabbing a handful of it, feeling the moment. He pushed you until your back hits the wall, deepening the kiss. His hands found their way inside your shirt, exploring the warm skin on your back before slowly pulling away.
The two of you were out of breath, looking deeply into each other's eyes. You hold his face in your hands as you softly smile at his cute face and messy hair.
"You're an idiot if you don't realize that I love you too." You confessed. He smiles widely, then rushly kissing you again.
Let's just say that the members went home with a disgusted face after finding you two kissing in the kitchen.
OMG, thank you so much for letting me know! I'm very glad you enjoyed it. I was hesitant to post it because im afraid its going to be cringe or something, and also its my first time writing too.

"I was the only survivor that night."
Under the fluorescent moonlight, illuminating the dark room just at the right angle from the window. Intense scribbling sounds coming from a pen brushing against paper are the only thing that can be heard inside the dim room.
The frigid air should make anyone inside that room shiver. Yet there he is, sitting at the desk right beside the window, his right hand clutching a pen fully invested in writing every single detail about the tragedy that happened to him full in the silence and darkness. It has been a few months since it took place.
However, he could still feel the tension, the thrill from the tragedy.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
"I can still feel the shiver down my spine til today. The thrill, the screams."
A group of nine friends had planned to go on a staycation. They have rented a cabin in the woods to enjoy their time together. Once they've arrived at the grand rusty property in the middle of basically nowhere, they immediately went completely to party mode.It was already dark when they arrived.
Sitting on a log near the campfire is Ahn Y/N, who was watching everyone have fun while she sought comfort and warmth from the fire. Wooyoung was already opening the beer cans and chugging almost half of their stockpile, choking from drinking too fast. Y/N giggled at his antics. She sometimes feels that the boys are just like toddlers, and she is the babysitter for all of them.
She was enjoying her time, staring at the dark sky filled with stars. She always loved the sky, especially midnight skies. She found solace in them, she often found herself deep in her own thoughts, leaving all of her problems in the real world as she descended to her own world. She was exactly doing it right now, fully in her own world as the voices of her friends blurred in the background.
"BOO!"
She jolted from the sudden loud voice right beside her ear. It was Yunho, he's always so playful, he plays too much sometimes.
"God, Yunho! You think you're bigfoot or something?! Stop it." Yes, Yunho is indeed a bigfoot, or perhaps, a longfoot to be exact.
Yunho laughed, he always finds her expressions cute. And that's probably the reason why he often plays with her too much.
"Sorry. Want some smores?" Yunho chimed as he sat beside her and handed her a stick. She gladly accepted it, she was pretty hungry from the long drive to this cabin. Now that she thinks about it, the road to get to this cabin was dark and empty. The cabin also felt creepy, especially when they're surrounded by huge trees and minimal light. But that's why it's called a cabin in the woods, that's probably what people seek when they rent this cabin.
She's going to admit that she's scared, the vibe of the cabin screams horror. But she's not going to ruin the fun by being a scaredy cat.
After some time, the other joined Yunho and Y/N at the campfire. Hongjoong had brought his guitar, and all of them were singing together. Under direct moonlight, they laugh and chat with each other. It was supposed to be a cold night, but being with each other gave them warmth in their hearts, and that's enough for them to bear the physical cold.
Right beside her sat Mingi, another giant of the group. He's one of her closest friends, they hang out a lot, going to karaoke, on shopping dates, and doing random things together. She also feels that Mingi is the one who truly understands her. A single touch of his can instantly calm her, his voice would soothe her to sleep.
Mingi's hand silently held hers, seeking extra warmth from it. This action feels familiar for both of them already, the others are used to it by now, and they know something is going on between the two of them.
"I could still feel her warmth. I want... to hold her, forever."
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
The loud sound of thunder shakes the cabin, waking up Y/N in the middle of the night. It was raining heavily outside, she tried to get back to sleep, but the dark, cold room made her feel conscious and aware of everything around her, the sound of heavy rain made her feel uneasy. She couldn't get back to sleep, and being alone might kill her from anxiety.
"She was delicate, fragile..."
So she hurriedly came out of her room and went to the living room, hoping anyone is still there. Once she gets there, it is dark, and the only source of light is coming from the TV playing a random variety show. She could faintly see someone's hair, probably sleeping on the couch. She tiptoed closer to the couch and found Seonghwa, Yeosang, and Jongho huddled together on the couch, sleeping.
She didn't want to wake them up, but she was scared, she needed company. So she quietly sat on the carpet in front of the couch, trying to distract herself by watching the random shows on TV.
"Hey, why are you awake at this hour?" A hoarse voice asked from behind her.
Jongho had probably woken up due to her movements, she was moving silently, but Jongho could sense anything near him literally.
"Hey. Sorry, did I wake you up?" She asked, genuinely feeling bad for waking him up. "I got woken up by the storm." She explain sheepishly, rubbing the back of her neck.
"Oh its raining?" Jongho asked, looking around the cabin for clues about the rain.
Beside him, Seonghwa moved to stretch, he had also woken up.
"You could sleep here with us Y/N." He said scooching a little bit to make room for her.
Seonghwa wasn't even sleeping. Well, he was trying to, but sleep couldn't just consume him that easily. He knew Y/N could get scared easily. Sometimes, in the middle of the night when she couldn't sleep, she would go to his dorm room, and because Seonghwa is a light sleeper, he was almost always there when Y/N needed him.
"She made you want to hold her tightly, protect her from the evil world."
Y/N sat in the space Seonghwa gave her, immediately feeling calm already. On her other side, Yeosang is sleeping soundly with his head hanging. Y/N is afraid that he would have a sore neck in the morning, so she slowly moves his head and rests it on her shoulder, so he wouldn't have a sore neck tomorrow.
Jongho had already gone back to sleep, cuddling a pillow on the far end of the couch. Seonghwa also goes back to trying to sleep next to her.
Their company eases her a lot. She can already feel sleepiness trying to take her to the dreamland. She was tired from the long drive, and the immediate chaotic party once they arrived. So she let the sleep consume her entirely.
"She was what everyone would've wished for."
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
Not too long after everyone on the couch fell asleep, Mingi came out of his room to grab some water from the fridge. On the way to the kitchen, He passed the living room, noticing Y/N sleeping comfortably surrounded by the others.
He went to grab a blanket that was somehow on the table and covered her body with it, making sure she was tucked and warm. He admired her face, his fingers gently tucked some strands of hair that covered her face behind her ear.
Then he went back to his mission to the kitchen, then back to his room, probably.
"Her face, a face of an angel. She was perfect."
Jongho was once again woken up, Mingi's movements pulled him back from slumber. He was actually pretty annoyed because it was the second time he got woken up, he could already feel the ache in the back of his head.
The rain is still going at it, but the storm has stopped. The cold air made Jongho need to use the toilet, so he went for it. The hallways are dark, a gust of wind blew straight at him. Apparently, one of the windows is open, making the hallway super cold, so he went to close it.
Suddenly, he sensed something or someone. He thought it was Seonghwa or Y/N, but when he peeked and looked into the living room, both of them were sound asleep.
"Umm, okay..." He whispered to himself.
Not gonna lie, He felt creeped out by it, but decided to brush it off, thinking it was just the wind or something.
He hurriedly went to the bathroom to finish his business.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
The sound of birds chirping at each other woke Y/N up. It's morning already, she looked around her to find Yeosang in a questionable position, sleeping on the floor. How did he even get in that position? Seonghwa is also still sleeping in the same spot from last night. She also noticed the blanket on top of her thighs. She knew very well who placed it there.
However, she didn't see Jongho anywhere in the living room, she thought maybe he had just gone to his room to sleep, so she brush it off.
She went to the kitchen to drink some water, the cold environment made her throat dry. That's when Wooyoung came out of his room, hair tousled with a puffy face, he had just woken up.
"Morning Woo." Y/N greeted him with a hoarse voice, earning another morning greeting from him.
He joined her, grabbing some water for himself.
"Gosh, it's so cold in here. Why are they scattered there?" He asked, pointing to Yeosang and Seonghwa, who were indeed scattered in the living room.
Y/N chuckled. "Jongho and I slept there too last night, they were probably too tired to even move to any bedroom." She explained.
Another sound of feet came to the kitchen, this time, it was Mingi. He looked super tired for some reason, like he didn't get any sleep last night. He immediately notices Y/N and Wooyoung talking in the kitchen.
"Wow, Dude. We're on a vacation, not a business trip. Did you even sleep?"
Wooyoung's sarcastic question pissed Mingi off for some reason, he brushed Wooyoung off with a middle finger and went to grab a Coca-Cola from the fridge.
"Hey, who drinks a Coca-Cola straight after waking up, that's not very healthy." Y/N joined.
She immediately grabbed another glass of water and shoved it into his hands, forcing him to drink it.
"It's his version of water, I guess. Imma use the bathroom." Wooyoung stated, already making his way to the bathroom down the hallway.
"Hey. That one's door is jammed. I tried, but it wouldn't open. Use the one upstairs."
Mingi choked from drinking too quickly, but he still managed to inform Wooyoung about the bathroom being jammed.
Wooyoung let out a groan out of frustration. Walking up the stairs is a hassle, especially when the stairs are rusty, it might break down anytime soon. That's why they all stayed on the first floor.
When Wooyoung disappeared to go to the bathroom, Y/N asked Mingi about something she has been wondering.
"Did you place that blanket?" It was a straightforward question.
Mingi looked at her, ears visibly red, and his face looked like someone had been caught killing a person. He was dumbfounded.
"Um, I don't know, maybe?" He teased, trying not to show how flustered he was. His eyes found their way to the can of soda in his hand, finding it suddenly interesting for some reason.
Y/N chuckled at his reaction. She didn't know why Mingi was always flustered about things like this, they literally more than friends already.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
"I can still smell the iron of the bloods,"
It was evening already. The group had made a plan to play a board game together in the living room. Everyone was ready, the board game had already been set up.
In the back of Y/N's mind, something felt off, missing.
When everyone gathered, she realized that Jongho was nowhere, she also hadn't seen him since last night. She felt something was very wrong, she could sense it.
"Wait where is Jongho?" She finally asked, concern visible on her face.
Everyone finally realized that they also hadn't seen him at all that day. That made everyone on alert and search for him everywhere in the cabin, some of them searched outside the cabin, afraid he might've got lost in the forest.
They all yelled his name, hoping to get a reply immediately. But it has been hours, and there is not a single clue about Jongho they could find.
Y/N was restless, she was very concerned. He thought about the worst possible thing that could happen to Jongho, then she realized, they hadn't checked the bathroom down the hallway. She ran down the hallway to try and pry the door open.
Mingi saw her, he hurriedly made his way to join her down the hallway.
"What are you doing, Y/N? It's jammed." He stated the obvious.
She knew it was jammed, but she felt the need to make sure, she needed to open it and hopefully find nothing there. There was a dreading feeling down her spine.
She kicked the door multiple time, giving all of her energy to open the door. Then she looked at Mingi, who was just staring at the door, then at her. Not doing anything to even help her.
"Are you going to help or not? I know it's jammed, so help me out now." She sternly said.
Mingi hesitantly helped her, kicking the door with his strength, which is double of Y/N's strength.
After some time, the door finally gave up, it cracked open. Y/N was hesitant to look inside, it felt like something was waiting inside there.
Neither of them moved. Mingi stared at Y/N, trying to figure out her next move. Y/N, on the other hand, is building the courage to go inside and check. The air surrounding them felt thick, and the silent make it even more dreading.
Mingi made the first move, he nudged the door a little bit with his toe. It was dark, suffocating. Y/N scanned the room from outside, trying to figure out anything inside.
That's when she saw it, something dangling from the bathtub. A hand.
She felt chill throughout her skin, and her face visibly became pale.
Noticing her silence, Mingi looked at her, her eyes were wide with horror, her whole body shaking. He followed her gaze, that's when he saw it too.
Immediately, he went inside to turn on the lights. He found an unmoving Jongho in the bathtub filled with red liquid, blood.
Mingi went quiet, he looked scared. He looked at Y/N, who was still in the same position. She was shaking, she couldn't breathe. Mingi panicked, he immediately went to her, holding her body helping her to sit down on the floor.
"Hey, hey, hey! Breathe Y/N! fuck. GUYS!"
She feels every breath in her lungs being vacuumed fast, she couldn't pry her eyes off the scene in front of her. The image of Jongho lying there motionless, drenched in red, was being permanently printed in her memory. She lost her ability to move every part of her body, to hear, and her muscles were tense, it's almost painful.
When Mingi blocked the scene from her eyes by pressing her head to his chest, she was finally able to gasp for some air into her lungs, his heartbeat guiding her breathing pattern. She also finally could hear the commotion of the others, they had seen it too.
Everyone is panicking. Someone cursed, trying to call the police or ambulance, anything. But no one picked up, in fact, there was no available network in this area. They have no car, they were being dropped here, and is going to be picked up tomorrow. There is no way to reach anyone.
"Fuck, what do we fucking do?!" San screamed in frustrations.
Hongjoong is pacing in the living room, trying to think of something, a way out of this mess.
Mingi had carried Y/N onto the couch, she was still in a daze.
Then came Yeosang, who had checked for any pulse in Jongho's body, searching for any life left in him. "He... I didn't feel any pulse... His body is cold... I-" Yeosang stuttered, his eyes were void and distant.
"Everyone, don't panic. Gather up and help me think of a fucking plan!"
Hongjoong was visibly stressed, he tried thinking of every possible thing they could do, he knew someone may have sneaked inside the cabin and killed Jongho.
"Someone has sneaked inside. I need you all to help me look for any sign of force in this cabin. And be careful, they might've still be nearby." Hongjoong initiates.
Everyone immediately paired up to check around the cabin. Wooyoung with san goes upstairs, Yunho and Mingi went outside and propped themselves with kitchen knives, Y/N, Yeosang, and Hongjoong on the first floor.
Yeosang was checking the windows for any signs of force, and Hongjoong was checking the back door. While Y/N checks inside the cabin.
Her mind was hazy, and her movements felt robotic. Wet streak can be seen on her cheek from crying. Yet, she was very determined to search the house and think of a plan.
She rummaged through everything, she moved the sofa, the paintings, everything.
Until suddenly the lights went off, Everyone immediately went back to the living room. Except for Mingi and Yunho, they were still outside, not knowing the situation inside.
"This is some horror movie type shit.." Wooyoung exclaimed, it might've sounded like he was trying to joke, but he actually feels terrified that he couldn't filter his words.
Then suddenly Mingi barged into the cabin, startling everyone.
"The way everyone died, one by one."
"Y-Yunho is missing." He hesitanly said, he was sweating, perhaps from running into the cabin.
A collective of curses was heard from most of the people in the room. There's literally nothing they could do in the dark, no network and everything, and a possible killer is out there, probably hunting every one of them.
That's when Y/N saw a tiny door under the sofa, which was very easy to miss since it was covered in the same color as the floor.
"There..." She pointed to the door, everyone looked in the direction she was pointing.
Hongjoong bravely went to it and opened it. There was a ladder going down into the dark. A basement. Maybe a place for them to hide.
"Someone come with me."
Hongjoong looks around the room. "San, Mingi, and Seonghwa. C'mon." He calmly ordered. The four of them go down with a kitchen knife and a phone's flashlight.
leaving Y/N, Wooyoung, and Yeosang in the cabin.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
Down in the basement, Hongjoong led the team. Lighting the basement with a phone while the other trailed behind him. The basement was huge and dusty, filled with every kind of storage.
They were exploring, turning to every corner, making sure it was a safe place to hide before the killer found them.
They turned into another corner, and this time, they were greeted with a narrow path leading to who knew what. As they followed the pathway, they heard shuffling from behind them. San looked first, only to find Mingi's disappearance.
"Mingi?" He called. The other two in front of him pointed their flashlight at San.
"The darkness was too powerful. It had consumed everyone."
Mingi had gone, no trace.
Then they heard something, someone muffling. They searched for the source of the voice, which led them to a door.
"Mhlp.." The voice continued.
They opened the door and carefully went inside. The wooden floor creaked underneath their feet.
On the far end of the room, a figure is visible, who was tied to a pipe, mouth covered with tape.
"Yunho!" Hongjoong yelled, immediately running to him.
But Yunho's eyes widen, he looked behind their backs, eyes filled with fear. "MMNGH!" He tried to scream, shaking his head. It sounded like he's trying to tell them something.
Hongjoong ripped the tape off his mouth. Yunho immediately screamed.
"SAN BEHIND YOU!"
San ducked while shielding his head with his arms. A mask is visible from his peripheral view, and something shiny.
Hongjoong and Seonghwa saw it, a man with a creepy mask they couldn't make out the design, holding a butcher knife in his hand.
Honjoong moved fast. He tried to untie Yunho, but the butcher man is faster. San and Seonghwa had managed to run out of panic and left Hongjoong and Yunho with the killer. A butcher knife was the last thing they saw before pain and darkness consume them completely.
"The stains never came off..."
San had run back, trying to find the ladder leading upstairs, but it was dark, and he was suffocating due to the lack of oxygen down there.
He didn't see any sign of the killer following him, so he tried to calm down and focus on finding the way back up. He turned every corner he could remember, but it feels like forever already, and he couldn't find the ladder. He's lost.
Then he heard something.
An agonizing scream, a very familiar scream.
Seonghwa, he's near. That means the killer is near too.
He hurriedly looked for a place to hide.
"I remember their faces as they face their deaths,"

Thump...
Thump...
Thump...
"I know you're in there... San."
Holding a butcher knife, face hidden under the bloodstained mask. Mingi made his way with an agonizingly slow pace toward a cupboard.
He knew San was in there, hiding from him. He knew that San knew it was him, betraying all of them and ending their lives one by one.
He knocked on the door, a mocking gesture to scare anyone inside it. Scratching his knife on the metal surface, toying with his prey.
"I miss the thrill."
Mingi laughed. He had thought of a new plan.
────── ✧˚ ༘⋆。Arc𓂃˖₊⊹ ──────
Upstairs, Wooyoung was pacing nonstop, Yeosang was out of the world, his mind full of every possible outcomes.
While Y/N, she was restless. Constantly checking the doors and windows, making sure they're secured. There was no sign of a killer near them. Yet.
"Why are they taking so long down there?" She asked, running her hand through her hair out of stress.
"Should we go after them?" Wooyoung genuinely asked. He hates not doing anything in these kinds of situations. And the fact that Hongjoong and the others are taking forever down there is making him think of the worst-case scenario.
"I don't think that's a great idea. What if the killer locks us in there?" Yeosang reasoned. He's right, if they all got locked down there, there is no more hope of being alive. Either the killer kills them, or they rot down there waiting to be saved.
Then suddenly the front door opened.
"Mingi?" Y/N made her way toward him. He was covered in blood, eyes distant staring at her.
Yeosang and Wooyoung tensed, eyeing Mingi suspiciously.
"Wh- What happened?! Are you hurt?" Y/N went to check his body for any wound. But Mingi stopped her, he grabs her shoulder and looked at her straight in the eyes.
"We have to run. The killer is down there..." Mingi said, voice lacking emotions.
For the first time, Y/N felt uncomfortable near him, he acted off.
"We can't just leave them down there?!" Wooyoung was furious when Mingi told them to go without the others.
"Y/N GET AWAY FROM HIM!" From the basement door, San screamed. "HE KILLED EVERYONE!"
Everyone immediately went to alert.
Y/N, on the other hand, couldn't process what was happening. All she could comprehend was how twisted Mingi's smile was after San told her to get away from him.
Her feet moved back on their own will. Her eyes cautiously glaring at the man she thought she loved.
"I'll do anything... to see that expression of her again."
Mingi tilted his head. "Why? Are you scared of me Y/N?" He asked in a sickenly sweet voice.
Then suddenly he strikes, grabbing Y/N and holding a knife to her throat, threatening the other in the room.
"She's coming with me! And you guys can rot in the fucking hell!" Mingi sounded like a maniac, while slowly backing away to the door.
Thats when Y/N smell the gasoline, he was planning to burn the cabin down with everyone inside.
"GUYS RUN! HE'S BURNING THE CA-" Mingi cut her off mid sentence, covering her mouth and putting more pressure on the knife.
"Shh, you shouldn't shout, sweetie..." He whispered into her ear, dangerously close, while throwing something with his free hand to the ground.
Inside the cabin Wooyoung and Yeosang tried to pry the back door open, but it was made out of the heaviest wood you could find, and its not budging, they were about to try the window.
But it was too late, fire had quickly spread everywhere.
"NO!" Y/N screamed her lungs out, hey eyes reflected the way the fire spread around the cabin.
She felt numb, she couldn't sob, but tears kept streaming down her cheeks. The realization hit her, everyone is not going to survive. Her eyes couldn't stop looking at the scene. She had found herself back in the condition when she found Jongho.
Right.. Jongho. She couldn't hear him scolding her anymore. No more chaos caused by Wooyoung and San. No more scolding from Hongjoong and Seonghwa. No more drunk nights with Yeosang and Yunho.
Everything felt like a slow motion. She was no longer in Mingi's hold, but she couldn't find a reason to run, she'd be better off dead with them inside.
Her feet dragging on the ground as she made her way closer to the chaos. The fire feels so inviting to her, it tempts her to throw herself in there and end it all.
On the other hand, Mingi watched her. Letting her be close enough to the fire, Chuckling as he watched her tears fall down like rain.
He was amused and angry at the same time. He has always been jealous of the others, they were being too close to his Y/N. All this time, he has been holding back his emotions, his temptations to end everyone who's being too close to her. And he finally did.
But why is Y/N not happy? She wanted to go with them and burn to die? Rather than going with him?
Shame.
He makes his way quickly to her, dragging her away from the graveyard. She will go with him whether she likes it or not.

"I we were the only survivors that night. I made sure of it."
Mingi finishes his journal with a period, smiling with content. He closed the window and looks at the corner of his room.
Y/N.
His possession, his prize. All for him.
Nobody knew that she was alive, living far away from any contact with the world, forever with him.
"Till death do us part." Mingi said sweetly as he caressed her cheeks.
Summary: "Trapped in a forced arranged marriage to your dangerous, blackmailing cousin Seojun, you strike an alliance with his bitter rivals, the Hala Clan, led by the captivating captain Hongjoong. Instead of becoming their hostage, you agree to act as their inside spy to take Seojun down."

"You don't get to tell me what to do."
You blatantly said, glaring at the man seated beside you, driving. The fluorescent lights of the city emphasize the wrath you have in your eyes. That man gripped the steering wheel like it personally offended him, trying to maintain his fury against you. He changed his focus from the road ahead of him to you, imitating the same wrath in your eyes.
"You will listen to me. I have the authority to. And you do know what happens when you don't listen to my words."
Kang Seojun, the man sitting in the driver's seat, who is also your soon-to-be husband, stated. You scowl at his words, you know what he means by it.
Your father is one of the deadliest mortals living in the city right now. Your relationship with him actually feels like a boss and his right hand, you work for him, you obey his commands, and you train hard so you can fulfill his expectations, and that relationship is the reason behind your marriage with Seojun. You can't disobey him, or he will punish you, just like how he punished the others who work for him.
Your father has this obsession with keeping the family's bloodline pure, so he forced you to marry your own cousin, Seojun, a cocky and controlling bastard. You knew life with him meant being his slave for eternity. You made it clear that you did not like him at the first meeting.
Seojun is way ahead of himself after being told that he will marry you. He knew he would have authority over your father's businesses, but he also knew damn well that you despise him, so he made ways to keep you running away from him, he threatened you, taking your love for your mother as an advantage. If you run, he will do unimaginable things to your beloved mother, and sadly, your father seems careless about it.
"You know life with me wouldn't be paradise, and I'll make sure of it." You scowled.
You won't let him lay a finger on your mother, but you also won't let him step all over you.

In a dark room full of men in expensive suits, sharp and undeniably charming faces, a projector is showing information about their next prey, someone who will make them wealthier, heck, maybe rank their gang up.
"Ahn Y/N, our treasure."
Standing in front of the humongous table is Kim Hongjoong, captain of the Hala Clan, stating their next mission. He has been told that Seojun will be marrying you, the precious daughter of the Ahn Clan. Hala and Seojun have a bad history.
A few years ago, Hongjoong and Seojun were actually allies. Their clans worked together on a major operation that could have made both organizations extremely powerful. Hongjoong trusted Seojun completely and even considered him a friend.
During the operation, however, Seojun secretly sold information to a rival organization. When everything went wrong, Hongjoong's men were ambushed.
The worst part? Hongjoong's older brother was killed because of the information leak.
Seojun escaped unharmed because he was the one who orchestrated it. Everyone believed the rival organization was responsible, but Hongjoong eventually discovered the truth.
Since then, revenge has become personal.
His plan is simple. Track Y/N's routine, kidnap her at the right designated time, hold her hostage for some countable days, just enough time to make Seojun realize her disappearance, make some calls and threats, lure Seojun into his trap, get his revenge, and maybe steal from him. Easy work, or so he thought.
.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖
The day of your marriage is near, you could count the days. Each day passes, and you've been stressed, locking yourself in your room, trying to figure out how to get out of this shitty condition of yours.
You don't live with your family, you have a penthouse on the outskirts of Seoul, living by yourself. Being in the same ground with your father made you feel like trash, sure, you obey him and all, but that doesn't mean you like him.
You just finished your shower, and your white robe tightly wraps your body as you make your way to the balcony. Cigarette in between your lips as smoke flies away with the wind of the night. You were deep in your own thoughts, completely dissociating from the world. You think about your mother, about the things Seojun will do to her. Just thinking about it made your blood boil, you truly despise that man.
The door leading to your bedroom is widely open behind you, the white dress they have prepared for you can be seen from your peripheral view, and you're sick of it. Sometimes you just want to burn it and throw the ashes at Seojun, or throw it from the balcony and have someone pick it up or something, so you wouldn’t have to be reminded of the marriage every time you see it.
You were about to take another cigarette from the pack until you heard something from outside your room. It's not something loud, it's something that an untrained ear would miss. Your instinct immediately kicked in telling you that there is someone in the house, you carefully went back to the bathroom to wear something, then swiftly grabbing a gun and a knife underneath the sink, you strapped the knife to you thighs and covered it with your clothes.
You make your way silently to the door, your ear pressed to the wood to listen for something, anything.
You open the door after hearing nothing, carefully twisting the knob, revealing the dark hallway leading to the center of the penthouse. The only source of light is from the moon, illuminating the hallway, making it unnecessarily creepy. You're moving like a feather, no sound can be heard each time you step on the ceramic floor. As you reached the living room, you were once again greeted by the dark.
"Fuck why did I leave every light off?" You curse under your breath.
You had left your phone somewhere in the bedroom, and you're not risking your life by turning on the lights. So when you feel like there's no one in the living room, you silently make your way back to the bedroom with your gun steady in your hand, pointing to every corner in the house. Once you get there, you close the door and lock it. You immediately went to search for your phone somewhere in the mess of your bed.
"shit, where is it?!" You curse as you silently and carefully dive into the mess, looking for your phone.
You were fully invested in looking for your phone to realize that the door to the balcony was widely open, the wind blowing from outside made you shiver, making you hyper aware of the balcony. And that's when you heard it, something, or rather someone, landed on the balcony. It was too dark to see, only a silhouette could be seen standing under the moonlight, his clothes swaying from the winds blowing. You immediately pointed your gun at the silhouette of someone standing tall on the balcony. The moon behind him made him look eerie.
That silhouette make his way slowly to you.
"Don't move," you command. But he doesn’t listen and keeps moving carefully towards you.
You don’t want to shoot anyone, so you quickly make your way out of the bedroom. Your instinct told you that he is not alone, someone else is in the house.
You went to another room that is connected to another balcony. Your initial plan is to jump and land on top of a roof or something, then make your escape. But once you open the door leading to the balcony, no roofs are in sight, you immediately go back inside and go to another room.
You open the door quietly, once again meeting with the dark, praying nobody is in this room. You enter the room carefully, listening for any movements of breathing, until something cold touches your temple. You know very well what it is, you didn’t dare to make a move.
"Don’t move. Put your gun down." A heavy voice said.
You did what he told you to, you carefully put your gun down on the floor, and put your hands up. That man grabbed the back of your clothes and led you forcefully to the living room, where three other men were waiting. This time you could see them clearly, they were wearing black suits and shining silver watches, looks expensive.
They eyed you up and down, like some wolves eyeing their prey.
"What do you want from me?" You asked, eyes glaring at them, trying not to show any weakness. They didn’t answer you, they only keep glaring at you as if you’re going to jump at them out of nowhere.
One of the men comes up to you with a rope in his hand to tie your hands. But they didn’t know a knife was still strapped securely on your thighs, hidden by your oversized tee.
Just before he could tie your hand, you grabbed the gun pointed at you and kicked the man in front of you, immediately catching him off guard and fell down. With super speed, you pinned his hands with your feet, making a cringe crunch sound. You then grabbed the man beside you and pointed your knife dangerously close to his throat as your other hand pointed the gun at the other two.
"Answer me, what do you want from me?!" You repeated. As you press your knife to the man’s throat, resulting in some blood drips down from his neck to your hand.
You could see the panic on the other two faces, trying to figure out what to do, and it seems like they didn’t expect you to fight back, they were super wrong.
"Fuck. Okay, calm down." One of them said, trying to make up some words, or ways to tackle you down, probably.
You eyed them one by one, trying to figure out who they are, and who they work for. You scanned their suits, carefully searching for something, a clue perhaps, to whoever they are. Until something small and shiny caught your attention, a pin on their collar, with an ‘A’ logo, that's when you realize they are the Hala.
"Hala… I see what you’re trying to do."
You knew the history between Seojun and Hala, and you figured that they are here to kidnap you and lure Seojun to give him their revenge. And for once you thought maybe being kidnapped is actually not bad, considering Seojun will have a hard time.
But your thought immediately drifted to your mother, if you played along and let them kidnap you, you couldn’t imagine the things Seojun would do to her.
You were deep in thought while still keeping your eyes on them, but you didn’t realize that the man you’re pinning with your feet right now is making a move, biting your calf. You jolted at the sudden pain and lost balance, which made the man you’re holding take advantage of it and turn the tables. You are now the one with a knife to your throat. You gripped his arms tightly, trying to break free, but he was too strong. The other men also regained their composure. The gun you dropped is now theirs again. You have to figure out something smart and quick, that's when a plan comes up in your mind.
"Okay, listen, I know your plan is to take revenge on Seojun. Look, I hate him too, even more than you guys do." You said steadily, eyes scanning for their reaction.
"What if we work together? I can help you guys get your revenge, or even better, kill him. I’ll even pay you guys as much as you want to get rid of that bastard." You try to persuade.
They look at one another, probably considering your offer.
"Well, we still have to take you to our captain, try to persuade him with your offer when we get there," the one holding you said. He dragged your body and make their way out to the car. At this point, you’re giving up on trying to break free already, due to their strong grip.
"Could you at least be less forceful or something? I’m literally coming with you guys of my own will." You protest.
"Shut up and get in already." He said as he shoved you inside the car.
.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖
The drive to their base was long, of course, since you lived on the outskirts of town. You also had learned their names as they were yelling and blaming each other while you tried to have a peaceful drive. Mingi, the one who eerily walks to you from your balcony, and the one who is driving right now. San, the one you kicked and bit your calf. Wooyoung and Yeosang, who basically did nothing. Your hands are tied now since they don't trust you
After some time, the car stopped in front of a gigantic rusty gate. A security guard comes up to the driver's window to check the car, and once he sees Mingi, he immediately opens the gate to let the car through. After the gate is a humongous mansion looking deliberately haunted for some reason, but actually, you're not that surprised, the mansion totally screams Hala for sure. Once Mingi stopped the car right in front of the entrance, Wooyoung grabbed you and pulled you out of the car.
"Dude, you need to chill. I'm not going anywhere. Geez." You once again protest. The way they keep pushing and pulling you really piss you off, you're literally coming either way.
They all led you through the hallway, making turns until you spot a big wooden door, perhaps the captain's room, you thought. Once you get inside, you are greeted with four other people, and one of them has this vibe that screams leader; his hair is slicked back, shoulder broad, and his suit is spotless. The way he stands is just very intimidating, and the smile on his face seems smug.
He makes his way to you, striding graciously toward you. You're not going to lie, he is one of the best sights you've ever seen, and you couldn't help but stare at him.
"Ah, Miss Y/N?" He purred, his voice sounded like the sweetest honey that can kill you slowly.
You were too mesmerized to even form a word and reply to him. Your eyes are stripping him slowly, taking every detail of him into your memory.
He chuckled, sounding majestic for some reason, it hypnotized you further away from reality. As he comes even closer to you, you can feel your heart beating hard under your skin, trying to escape your body and jump right into his hands.
"I have been informed that you have a great deal to give me. Could you emphasize?" He asked, as he stopped right in front of you, eyes searching yours, eager for an answer.
The proximity made you realize the situation you're in right now. You immediately regained your composure and cleared your throat, opening and closing your mouth, trying to find the right word.
"I know your history. You're trying to take revenge on Seojun, Right? And I'm sure my role here is as a trap, luring him into your cage." You explain, voice trying to sound steady and confident.
"So I have an offer. We work together, you hate him, and so do I. I don't want to be married to a cocky prick and trapped with him my whole life, I'd rather die."You continued.
"Hmm... I see. But aside from getting my revenge on him, what do I get? You get to be free from him and all, but me? Only a revenge wouldn't be fair, isn't it?" He emitted.
"I'll pay you as much as you want. I want him erased from this world if you will." You added.
His expression shows that he is intrigued by your offer, and your hope increases as you search his eyes looking for answers.
"Okay, can you fight?" He asked, tilting his head like a puppy's first time hearing foreign sounds. Gosh, how is this man the captain of Hala? You thought it was going to be someone super big and scary-looking. But instead, you are met with a charming and super handsome looking man.
"I... Know how to throw punches?" You mumbled.
He laughed at your reply. " Yeah, no. I want you to participate in taking him down, and throwing punches won't help, darling. You'll need some more training." He beamed.
"We need to take him down fast! He's going to hurt my mother, and the wedding is in literally less than two weeks." You fumed.
"Oh, don't worry. I guarantee your mother's safety. My men will take care of her. While we get ready to take that son of a bitch down." He smiled, the way he said we feels like he's flirting with you, especially with that face of him.
He later introduced his name as you guys make plans to take down Seojun. Kim Hongjoong, his name matches him really well. He took you all into a meeting room, getting straight to making plans.
Hongjoong doesn't play around when it comes to Seojun. In fact, he does not play around with anything. You've learned that he takes everything seriously, and he probably has anger issues or something, because throughout the meeting, he would yell at his men, mostly Wooyoung, because he plays too much. But one thing is for sure, he's undeniably scary when he's angry, and somehow, you found it super hot.
After some time discussing the best plan, you all finally agreed on this plan
You will not be held hostage by him, which is a great thing because being hostage is not fun at all. You will be his eyes, since you get to be around Seojun a lot, and then give important information to Hongjoong so he can tell the others about their parts. Some of them will keep an eye on your mother, ensuring her safety. And the rest, will back you and Hongjoong up when taking him down.
The plan is that you will be acting like nothing happened and bear being with Seojun until the day of the wedding, and at the ceremony, Hongjoong, and all of the rest will move and execute. It needs to be silent, and you will be acting shocked when Seojun gets shot. And just in case things go south, you will be joining the battlefield. Hongjoong had given you a super thin knife that can be hidden in your dress, and you will fight using that.

It has been almost a week since you got 'kidnapped' by them, and since that day, you have been closer to basically everyone in the mansion.
There's Hongjoong, Captain of Hala. He carried himself like a king who had built his throne from blood and ambition. He wasn't the tallest man in the room, nor the most physically intimidating, yet every head turned when he entered. His sharp eyes seemed capable of dissecting a person within seconds, always calculating, always planning. Neatly styled hair framed a face that was unfairly handsome for someone so dangerous.
There was elegance in everything he did, from the way he adjusted his cufflinks to the way he delivered threats with a smile.
Most people feared his anger. You feared how calm he became when he was angry.
Seonghwa, Hongjoong's right hand. Seonghwa looked more like a luxury magazine model than a criminal. His appearance was always immaculate; not a single wrinkle dared touch his suit, and his dark hair remained perfectly styled no matter the situation.
His gentle smile often fooled strangers into believing he was harmless. They usually learned otherwise.
While Hongjoong was the storm, Seonghwa was the silence before it. His voice rarely rose above a calm tone, but when it did, even seasoned members straightened immediately.
Yunho, the trainer. He was impossible to miss. Towering over nearly everyone, his broad shoulders and long limbs made him look intimidating from afar. Yet the moment he smiled, every ounce of danger disappeared.
His laughter came easily, loud and genuine, often filling entire hallways. You quickly learned that beneath his friendly personality was a terrifying fighter capable of dropping a man twice his size without breaking a sweat.
Yunho was proof that kindness and strength could exist in the same person. You would come over a lot, for training or to evaluate plans, and sometimes you would help with some errands. It feels like you're one of them already.
Yeosang, the Sniper. He had the unsettling habit of appearing out of nowhere. One moment a room would be empty. The next, he'd be standing in the corner silently observing.
His sharp features and calm demeanor made him seem almost detached from the world around him. He spoke only when necessary, and every word felt deliberate.
Unlike the others, Yeosang never wasted energy. Never wasted movement. Never wasted bullets. His unreadable expression often made people uncomfortable. Which he secretly enjoyed.
San, the Enforcer. He looked dangerous. There was no better way to describe him.
Everything about him radiated intensity—from the sharpness of his gaze to the way his jaw clenched whenever he was annoyed. His emotions sat close to the surface, making him explosive and unpredictable. Despite his reputation as Hala's attack dog, those closest to him knew his anger stemmed from fierce loyalty. If San cared about someone, he would walk through hell for them.
If he hated someone, he'd happily drag them there himself.
Mingi, the Driver and Weapons expert. He was chaos disguised as a human being.Tall and impossibly energetic, he moved through life as if consequences simply didn't apply to him. His loud voice echoed through every room he entered, usually followed by someone yelling at him to shut up.
His playful nature made him seem careless. That assumption usually lasted until people saw him behind the wheel.Or holding a gun. Then they understood why he was one of Hala's most trusted members.
Wooyoung, the Infiltration Specialist. He was trouble. The kind of trouble that smiled beautifully before ruining your entire day.
He possessed an almost supernatural ability to get under people's skin within minutes of meeting them. Charming, flirtatious, and endlessly dramatic, he thrived on creating chaos for his own entertainment.
Nobody could ever tell when he was joking. Sometimes not even Wooyoung himself. Behind the constant teasing, however, was someone exceptionally observant.
He noticed everything. And forgot nothing.
And there's Jongho, the Medic. Jongho was perhaps the most terrifying member of Hala.
Not because he was loud. Not because he was aggressive. But because he wasn't. His quiet demeanor often made people underestimate him.
A mistake.
Beneath his calm exterior hid strength that bordered on ridiculous. You once watched him lift a grown man as if he weighed nothing. Jongho preferred actions over words. If he cared about you, he'd patch your wounds, bring you food, and make sure you survived.
If he didn't... You'd know.
Today, you came by the base because Yunho told you to come train and box with him. As you make your way down the training ground, you can hear someone punching the punching bag. You thought it was Yunho, after all, he is the one who asked you to come. But once you make it there, you are met with Hongjoong instead.
Sweat runs down from his temple to his chin as he keeps punching the bag. The black tank top he wears reveals his big, sturdy biceps glistening with sweat. His hair is tousled from running his hand through it. It was truly a sight.
You didn't realize that you're literally frozen in place, eyes obviously striping the man in front of you, until his voice disturbs your day dreaming.
"You like what you see?" He chimed as he made his way to you, running his hand through his hair with a smirk plastered smugly on his face.
"Huh, no. Where's Yunho?" You tried to change the topic, trying to hide how flustered you are by averting your eyes, searching for the said man that is nowhere to be found in the training ground.
"He's not here. I've sent him to do some errands, important ones. So you'll be training with me today." He cheered. You couldn't help but think he purposely sent Yunho out so he could train with you.
"Hmm, that's suspicious, but I'll let it slide." you replied as you stretched, getting ready to train for today.
The two of you walk into the ring, preparing to fight each other.
You strike first, throwing a fake punch to his head, and then kick the side of his body. You thought you could trick him, but he is way faster than you thought. He immediately grabs your foot and pulls it, making you lose your balance and fall on your back.
"Fuck, that hurts." You agonized, rubbing the back of your head as you tried getting up. Hongjoong only chuckled and repositioned his body. You did the same thing. This time, you wait for him to strike first, trying to read his movement.
He raised his foot to kick you, but you thought it was a fake one, so you shielded your head instead. But Hongjoong is way ahead of you, it was actually not a fake. He actually kicked you, sending you to the side of the ring. Oh, you are fuming, and he could see it.
"C'mon, is that all you got Y/N?" He trilled.
That question made you rage. You got up and immediately launched at him, straddling him down. Just as you were about to throw a fist at his face, he pulled you and changed position. He is now on top of you, and both of your hands are locked above your head.
You groaned in annoyance. Hongjoong, on the other hand, seems to enjoy this, he is grinning like he got the best reward ever.
Once you realize the position you're in right now is very questionable, if someone suddenly walks in on you guys. You got flustered when realizing that your face is inches away from his. Upon realizing you're flustered, Hongjoong leans even closer, and your noses are touching already. You were frozen, too afraid to breathe and move at all.
"You need more training darling." Hongjoong whispered, and you could feel his breath brushing your face. Then he got up, grabbing his towel to wipe away the sweat like nothing had happened. While you lay motionless on the ground, heart beating too fast, mind hazy. You could still feel his touch lingering on your skin.

Seojun was not a man who ignored details. In his line of work, overlooking the smallest inconsistency often meant a bullet between the eyes. It was why your recent behavior bothered him more than he cared to admit.
A week ago, you had looked like a trapped animal whenever he was around, tense shoulders, sharp tongue, eyes filled with nothing but resentment. Yet lately, something had changed.
You were still rude. Still stubborn. Still looked at him as if you wanted to shove him off a cliff.
But there was something different beneath it all.
Hope.
It was subtle enough that nobody else would notice. A slight ease in your posture. The way your gaze no longer seemed permanently exhausted. The way you occasionally disappeared into your own thoughts and returned with the faintest hint of satisfaction hidden behind your expression.
Seojun noticed. And Seojun hated things he couldn't explain. The first report landed on his desk three days later.
"Miss Ahn has been leaving her penthouse more frequently." Seojun skimmed the paper without much interest.
"So?"The man standing before him shifted nervously.
"She visits the western district several times a week." That made Seojun pause. The western district.
Hala territory.
His fingers stopped tapping against the desk. "Continue."
"We followed her as far as we could, sir, but she kept disappearing. We couldn't determine who she was meeting." Silence settled across the office. The man lowered his head, awaiting punishment for the incomplete report.
Instead, Seojun leaned back in his chair.
Interesting. Very interesting.
The following week, more reports arrived. You were spending less time at your penthouse. Your schedule had become unpredictable. You often turned off your phone for hours at a time. And every trail somehow led back toward territory controlled by Hala.
Coincidences existed. Seojun simply didn't believe in them. That evening, he watched you from across the dinner table. You sat comfortably in your chair, scrolling through your phone while pretending not to acknowledge his presence.
For a brief moment, the corner of your lips twitched upward.
A smile. Small. Gone within seconds. But he saw it.
His gaze darkened.
"Something amusing?" Your head immediately snapped up.
"What?" You questioned.
"You seem happier lately." He stated.
Your smile vanished. A flicker of alarm crossed your face before you recovered. "No idea what you're talking about."
Seojun hummed thoughtfully. Maybe you truly believed you were hiding it well. Maybe you thought he wasn't paying attention. The realization almost made him laugh.
You had spent so many years around criminals that you should have known better.
Everyone lied. Everyone betrayed. Everyone hid secrets. And Seojun had built his entire life around finding them.
As you returned your attention to your phone, unaware of the eyes studying your every movement, he silently made a decision.
Double the surveillance. Track every route. Monitor every contact. Because one thing was becoming painfully clear. You were hiding something.
And Seojun intended to find out exactly what it was.

As the wedding day approached, everything seemed to be falling perfectly into place, almost too perfectly. The morning of the ceremony, Hongjoong received an urgent report from Yeosang.
Something felt off. There were more guards than expected, unfamiliar faces lingering around the venue, and security routes that had been changed without explanation. Trusting his instincts, Hongjoong stepped away to investigate, leaving the others to proceed as planned.
What was supposed to be a quick check turned into a chilling realization, Seojun wasn't walking into their trap. He had already discovered it. By the time Hongjoong rushed back toward the ceremony, his heart pounding with dread, it was already too late.
On the other hand, Mingi notices another sniper aiming at him. If he shoots first, He dies. The mission collapses.
He hesitates for one second. And that's all Seojun needs.
.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖
You were walking down the aisle, your mind drifting somewhere in your own world, when you suddenly heard a gunshot. You look at Seojun, who is standing in front of you, he is holding a gun, pointing it at you. That's when you feel it, something warm oozing from your abdomen, your white dress is stained with red. Seojun had shot you.
The air in your lungs emptied suddenly, and the striking pain from your abdomen made it worse. You fell down, clutching your abdomen, trying to grasp oxygen to your lungs, and you can see black dots in your eyes. You're slowly fading away.
"Did you really think I wouldn't notice?" Seojun said. He has kneeled down to talk to you, tracing your face with his fingers. Silently mocking you with his smug and cocky face.
That's when you realize, he knew all this time. Of course, he knew, how could you be so stupid? Why did you underestimate him?
Your mind was scrambled, you thought about Hongjoong, where is he? Has Mingi been caught? Why didn't he snipe Seojun?. Did your mother see you get shot? Is she safe? You question everything, you didn't even care about that prick kneeling over you, saying bullshit, you don't even care.
Your ears are ringing, the sound of your surrounding slowing fading away, replaced by the intense ringing. And all you can see is Seojun's face, mumbling words you can't make out anymore. At this point, you've given up, thinking this is probably your shitty fate, dying in the hands of the most notorious prick ever lived.
That's when you saw a ginger haired angel, standing behind Satan himself. Hongjoong swifly slits his throat, finishing him thoroughly. It is the end for Seojun, and perhaps, for you too. Your consciousness is fading away.
You feel Hongjoong lift you up, holding you like you might break if he moves erratically. You can see the tears and panic in his eyes, his mouth moving like he's trying to say something to you as he runs as fast and gently as he can.
Then you hear him, faintly. His voice sounded sad, broken.
"Stay with me Y/N, please. keep your eyes open for me, darling. I've got you." He pleaded.
He took you in a car, and everyone is there. You can see Mingi's hair on the driver's seat. He's driving us somewhere. Then you feel Jongho's warm hand on your stomach, putting some pressure on it, probably to stop the bleeding. It hurts like hell, but you're too tired to even react. It feels like you're losing the ability to move your body.
Then, the dark finally consumes you. You couldn't hear Hongjoong's voice, no more pain in your abdomen. Nothing.
.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖.✦ ݁˖
The first thing you heard was the steady beeping beside your bed. Then came the ache.
A dull, burning pain spread across your abdomen, making you wince before your eyes had even opened. Your body felt heavy, like someone had poured concrete into your veins.
You slowly blinked against the bright hospital lights. The room was quiet. Too quiet.
Your gaze wandered around until it landed on a figure slumped beside your bed.
Hongjoong.
His head rested on folded arms near your hand, his ginger hair messier than you had ever seen it. Dark circles sat beneath his eyes. His suit jacket had long been discarded, his shirt wrinkled and sleeves rolled up carelessly.
For a moment, you simply stared. The mighty captain of Hala looked exhausted. Broken, almost.
You shifted slightly. The movement was enough. Hongjoong's head immediately shot up. For a second, he simply stared at you like he wasn't sure if you were real.
Then his chair screeched against the floor.
"Doctor!" he shouted, standing so quickly he nearly knocked it over. "Get the doctor-"
"Joong." Your voice came out weak, raspy. But it stopped him instantly.
His entire body froze. Slowly, he turned back around. The look in his eyes made your chest tighten.
Relief. Disbelief. Fear. All mixed together.
"You're awake," he whispered.
You offered a small smile. "That's usually how surviving works."
The joke was terrible. Yet Hongjoong let out something between a laugh and a sob. He sat back down immediately, reaching for your hand as if afraid you would disappear again.
His grip was warm. Tight and desperate.
You frowned. "How long?"
"Four days."
Your eyes widened. "Four-"
"You weren't waking up." His voice cracked. The words hit harder than they should have.
You stared at him. Really stared. The man before you looked like he hadn't slept properly in days. His eyes were bloodshot. His hair was a mess. Even his hands trembled. Hongjoong was trembling.
"I thought..." He swallowed hard. "I thought I lost you."
Silence settled between you. Heavy. Painful. You squeezed his hand. His jaw tightened immediately.
"I should've known," he continued quietly. "The extra guards. The changes in security. The missing routes. The signs were there."
"Joong-"
"I was arrogant."
His eyes finally met yours. For the first time since meeting him, he looked completely vulnerable.
"I thought I was smarter than him." The confession sounded bitter. Like poison.
"I brought you into this."
"You didn't force me."
"I should've protected you."
"You did."
His head shook immediately. "No." His voice cracked again.
"I promised you."
The room fell silent. Hongjoong lowered his head, staring at your joined hands.
"I heard your heartbeat stop." The words barely rose above a whisper. Yet they shattered something inside you.
"I heard the machine go flat for three seconds." His fingers tightened around yours.
"I've been shot before." A bitter laugh escaped him. "I've been stabbed." Another. "I've had guns pointed at my head more times than I can count." He finally looked up.
"But those three seconds were the most terrified I've ever been in my entire life."
Your breath caught. Because he wasn't speaking like a captain. Or a leader. Or a man seeking revenge. He was speaking like someone in love.
You reached up slowly. The movement hurt, but it was worth it. Your fingers brushed through his hair.
Immediately, his eyes closed, leaning into your touch. Seeking comfort.
"I'm here." His shoulders trembled. "I'm here, Joong." A tear escaped before he could stop it. Then another.
You had never seen him cry. Never. Not once. Yet now, with your hand in his hair and your thumb brushing his cheek, he looked utterly defenseless.
"I love you." The confession slipped out before he could stop it. Raw. Honest. Terrified. As if he had spent four days holding those words hostage.
Your heart squeezed painfully. You smiled softly. "I know."
Hongjoong huffed out a laugh. "That wasn't the response I was hoping for."
You rolled your eyes. Even that small movement hurt. Then you tugged weakly on his sleeve. He leaned closer immediately. Closer, until your foreheads touched.
"I love you too, idiot."
For the first time in days, Hongjoong smiled. A real smile. Not the captain's smile. Not the manipulator's smile. Just Hongjoong.
And as he pressed a gentle kiss against your forehead, you realized something. For the first time in your life, you weren't fighting alone anymore.
The moment Hongjoong finally calmed down, the room felt strangely still—like the world outside had stopped existing entirely. The only sound left was the steady beeping of the monitor and his quiet breathing as he refused to let go of your hand.
Then, the door slammed open.
“Y/N!” Wooyoung was the first to burst in, loud enough to make the nurse outside immediately shush him. He froze halfway into the room when he saw you awake, eyes widening before his face twisted into relief.
“OH MY GOD, she’s alive.” Behind him, Mingi shoved his way in. “Move, you idiot.” He stopped mid-sentence, staring at you like he couldn’t process it properly. Then his shoulders dropped, and he let out a breath that sounded too shaky for someone who usually never stopped talking.
San followed next, quieter than usual, but his eyes immediately locked onto you like he was confirming you were really there. His jaw tightened, and he looked away almost instantly as if he hated the fact that he had been worried.
“Don’t do that again,” he muttered, voice rough.
Yeosang stepped in after him, silent as ever. He didn’t speak at first, just stood by the doorway, watching you carefully. Then, after a long pause, he gave a small nod.
“Good,” he said simply. One word. But it carried more relief than anything else.
Jongho came last, pushing past the others with a medical bag already in hand out of habit. He scanned you quickly, eyes sharp and focused, before letting out a small exhale.
“Vitals are stable,” he confirmed, as if he hadn’t been worried at all. But the way his fingers tightened around his strap gave him away.
Seonghwa appeared behind them, composed as always, but his expression softened the moment he saw you awake. He didn’t rush in like the others. Instead, he stepped closer slowly, like he needed to make sure the sight was real.
“You caused quite a mess,” he said gently. But his voice wasn’t annoyed, it was relieved.
For a moment, the room was chaos. Wooyoung talking too loudly, Mingi pacing, San pretending he wasn’t shaken, Jongho checking monitors unnecessarily, Yeosang watching quietly, Seonghwa trying to restore order.
And Hongjoong, he still hadn’t let go of your hand. You looked around at all of them. At the noise. At the concern. At the way none of them had actually left your side. And something in your chest shifted.
Because this wasn’t just protection. It wasn’t just a mission anymore. This was family. Messy, loud, dangerous.
But real.
Wooyoung suddenly pointed at you. “I swear, if you scare us like that again, I’m personally-”
“Shut up,” San snapped immediately.
“Make me!”
“Both of you, quiet,” Seonghwa sighed.
You let out a weak laugh before you could stop yourself. The room went silent. All eyes turned to you. Even Hongjoong froze slightly, glancing at you like he was memorizing the sound.
And for the first time, You didn’t feel like you were surrounded by criminals.
