Airthorns, a swarm type enemy that only appears in the Dark Transit Station. This small machine travels in packs and is normally unscannable due to Samus being in morph ball form at the time. In addition, unused log book entries imply that the Airthorns were a surveillance type drone. It is not known if they traveled in swarms before going rouge, though, considering their purpose, it would seem unlikely.

The recently ripped texture files of Samus' Unused Suit from Metroid Prime. The textures for this suit show that some of the suit's qualities match up with the Gravity Suit, and others match up with the Phazon Suit's, but some are entirely unique. It's overall coloration is similar to the Gravity Suit's, but the Visor is much more similar to the Phazon Suit, and the Suit itself is filled with neon blue lines that are very similar to the corrupted PED Suit in Metroid Prime 3 Corruption. The blue lines most likley were supposed to represent Phazon corruption, as they can be located on Samus' helmet, feet legs, arms, and hands, and since the lines are not present on any other suit in those particular areas, except for the PED Suit, it is possible that this suit was the early idea of Samus becoming corrupted, and that this suit is just a corrupted version of the Gravity Suit, before it became the more original ideas for the Phazon Suit.

A short video from the E3 2003 demo. It shows Samus in a room of Agon Wastes, shortly before being ambushed by a cloaked Space Pirate. It is also notable that it is the regular Space Pirate that was cloaked who attacked Samus, where in the final version, only the Dark Pirate Commandos can cloak. Another difference is that Agon Wastes seems to have some form of substance floating around its atmosphere.

It is slightly notable that the storyboard does mention that Dark Samus should "dissapears as becoming transparent while hovering backwards. (Is is possible?)". Which may mean that Dark Samus may have originally appeared in these forms when moving around, and possibly when defeated. Although, she does get a very similar ability in the second and final fights.

Dark Samus. Dark Samus, along with various other creatures in the game, went through multiple changes. In the fourth image, Dark Samus is shown to be very wispy and loosely connected. If Dark Samus was first created around the time of Metroid 1.5, it would most likely have been a hallucination at this stage. The fifth image shows Dark Samus very similar to the final version, only with the Arm Cannon on her left, and being slightly more organic overall. The sixth image shows a more heavily armored Dark Samus. It is possible that Dark Samus could have gained more upgrades over the course of the game, and may have even been able to steal upgrades from Samus, which may have been possible at one point, since the other Hunters in Metroid Prime Hunters can steal Samus' Octoliths, although, considering how they were made by different companies, it's very unlikely, and more of a coincidence. The seveanth image shows an early version of the final Dark Samus battle. in which Dark Samus transforms into a gigantic cybernetic monstrosity. The eighth and final image at the bottom shows concept of a cutscene that didn't make it into the final version of the game. If Samus was killed by Dark Samus in the final fight, instead of being killed by the planet exploding, Dark Samus would absorb the Light Suit, and all of Samus other upgrades and equipment, including the Light of Aether and the Energy Transfer Module. With all of these upgrades, the power hungry Dark Samus would return to the world of Aether and absorb all of the Light of Aether for itself. The player would then be treated to a short cinematic of Dark Samus, with Samus' equipment, leaving a collapsing Aether.

The Amorbis may have gone through some possible redesigns of its own. As shown in the concept art the Armor of Amorbis, Amorbis' armor sticks out more so then in the actual game. In addition, the design notes say "Samus Balls", which would indicate that the armor of Amorbis would have been removed with the Morph Ball somehow, meaning that it would have kept its armor on while fighting, or that the fight was going to be much longer then it was in the game. If this is true, then it would most likely make the Amorbis a later boss in the game, or the later bosses fought after the Amorbis even stronger then they were in the final version.

The Dark suit. The Dark Suit went through many changes of it's own. The earliest version seemed to be a fusion of the Varia Suit with Amorbis' DNA structure, sharing many organic traits that Dark Samus and the Fusion Suit have. The more visible of these differences would be the different beam shape Samus has on the concept's Dark Suit, becoming more pincer like, the shoulder pads from the Varia Suit becoming smaller, more compact, and baring the same symbols as the symbols on the side of Amorbis' armor. In addition, the chest plate of the concept Dark Suit has the Armorbis' eyes on the front, and in a far more life like manner, then in the back. In addition, the neck also has an extended armor on the sides.

The later Dark Suit concept is very similar to the final version, with very minor changes. Mostly associated with the beam being a different color then in the final version.

The Light Beam went through the exact same phases of it's life cycle as the Dark Beam did. The top image shows the Light Beam in the early beta, without it's symbols and markings, in addition to not having a rainbow effect in the core of the beam.. The second image shows the Light Beam in the late beta and demo, with the symbols and markings, but lacking the light blue color. The third image at the bottom has the final version of the Light Beam.

The evolution of the Dark Beam, going from the ealiest version of Metroid Prime 2, in addition to the change of other things. In the first image, the Dark Beam started out with only the change in the core of the Arm Cannon, and was really only a really only a re-texture of the Ice Beam. In the second image, the Dark Beam's core texture started to shift textures, thus changing it slightly from the Ice Beam, but it's freezing effect still gave the enemies a Ice casing, instead of a dark casing. It also gained it's symbols in the second beta build, although they were a similar color to the Arm Cannon at the time. In the third beta build, the Entangler now uses matter instead of tentacles. The Dark Beam's markings and symbols are also a few shades darker in this build then they were in the second build. The fourth image is of the final version's Dark Beam.

A few early beta screenshots of Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. All three of them shows Samus' beta HUD, and the early Visor and Beam Icons. The first two images also show Samus' beta lock on mode. The Energy Tanks were also changed drastically from Metroid Prime to the beta of Metroid Prime 2. Going by the look of the Energy Tanks in the second, third, and fourth images shows that the energy tanks would have emptied out as the energy went down, and eventually would be moved to the back of the line once their energy ran out. In addition to other things, a closer look at Samus' Beam arm shows she would have worn the Gravity Suit. It's possible that the Gravity Suit was once planned to be worn by Samus until she lost it to the Ing, or possibly not lose the Gravity Suit at all. It is very possible that the Gravity Suit was scrapped once the Gravity Boost was made, or that having the Gravity Suit with her from the beginning would have made the Torvus Bog area too easy, or simply not hard enough. The second image also shows the beta version of the Dark Beam's Entangler attacking the Space Pirate. These vines or tentacles may be the reason behind the name of the Entangler, which is why it seems somewhat odd that a mass of Dark Energy would be called the Entangler, when it surrounds it's target(s). The Power Beam's icon is a light red as opposed to the dark orange it is in the final version. The Dark Beam's icon is green and has more of it's parts splitting from the center, as opposed to jointed together. The Light Beam's icon has the largest difference of all when compared to the final version's icon. In the beta version, the Light Beam's icon is a blue sphere with a curved line above it. In the final version, the Light Beam's icon is a light blue circle with light shining off of it. The beta Combat Visor is red, whereas the final version's slightly translucent white with a very hollow black Combat Visor symbol in the middle. The beta version of the Scan Visor is dark blue with a slightly wider symbol. The Dark Visor is a bright yellow and has two of it's sides sticking out. The final version has a similar structure, but without the yellow color, and has four of it's sides sticking out, two on the top half, and two on the bottom half, with the bottom two being larger, and having indentation on their tops. The Echo Visor has a light green color to it, which is the only real difference it has from the final version's. In addition, the Dark Beam does not have it's markings or symbols in either the second or third images. The Light Beam also lacks it's markings and symbols. In addition, the fourth image seems to have a beta version of the Portal Site room, with a rising slope on the ground level of the room, making it possible for Samus to leave the room without having to kill the Jump Guardian.

A trailer video of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The video has a small number of beta things in it. The first one is when Samus hits the Space Pirate with the Dark Beam, which causes it to have the Ice Beam effect from Metroid Prime, but be the scattered varieant from Echoes, as opposed to full body freezing. In addition, when the Space Pirate dies, there are purple tentacles or vines left sticking out of the ground, which shows the Dark Beam was nearly complete, with only the Ice textures needing to be changed. On the side note of textures, the Dark Beam lacks the purple textures on it's symbols and markings. It is also a already established fact that the Dark Beam is a heavily re-modified Ice Beam. The Space Pirate's Shrike Class Assault Skiff also has completely darkened textures, in addition to a slightly different body shape. The Ing make their first appearance when possessing the Space Pirates in the Mining Station A room. After that is the Dark Visor, which is mostly the same as the final version's, with the exception of the HUD. After that is the rather infamous Dark Luminoth, who was really just an early Luminoth texture. After that is the other infamous shot of Samus' Gravity Suit hand. While she's fighting the Warrior Ing in a later part of the same scene, she switches to the Light Beam, which also lacks it's light blue textures on it's symbols and markings. After that is the unused multiplayer Lava Room. The final part of the video shows Samus obtaining a Visor of some kind. Although, it does not look to be in the room Chykka was in, the Dark Torbus Temple, or the room where the Echo Visor was in, the Aerie. This may mean that there was an different placement for these items in the beta version, or that the rooms looked very different in the beta version. More likely the Dark Visor, as Chykka was most likly intended to be a light world boss that got possessed into Dark Chykka. Whether the fight would have been the same or not is not known.

A texture that compares Samus' Arm Cannon's Demo texture, which is the top image, and final version's texture, the bottom image. The top image most noticeable feature is the colored texture on the arm cannon's control panel. On the final version's texture, the control panel is not colored. It can be assumed that the colored texture may have acted as an illumination for the texture beneath, as the colored texture beneath it shows the colored version seen in game. Another, much less noticeable detail is Samus' Arm Cannon itself. In the demo version, the texture is much more simple. In the final version, however, the tip of the Arm Cannon is lined with two rings.

As the images go on, Samus begins to go through the gate, changing back to the Power Beam. The X Ray Visor can only be used in the first room of the demo at the moment due to forcing the game to stay in the X Ray Visor Mode.
