ACTIONS
SPEAK
FOR THEMSELVES.
We are all so desperate for verbalization, to hear the “truth” out loud so that the mistreatment and carelessness is solidified in the universe for “closure”. But rather than demanding these empty words from the people we thought once loved us, wouldn’t it be so graceful to interpret actions as if they were as concrete as words? To walk away and choose ourselves without chasing, begging for someone who should never have needed any convincing to stay in the first place. You can’t win a battle when there is nothing to fight for. You can feel it in your gut; You can sense when things feel unaligned, when humans start to disconnect, disengage, retreat. You won’t want to admit that it’s beginning to unravel, but you will be aware of this truth. You can sense when the inherently selfish begin to surrender to their own desires again, and any slight inconvenience becomes the enemy. You can’t fix these people, they are not your problem, and they weren’t willing to make you theirs. Please, as soon as you recognize this in your heart, choose yourself. Choose yourself over apathy. Choose yourself over laziness. Choose yourself because the kind of love you give so willingly to others is the kind of love you should never stop seeking. That is what you should be fighting for.

“Meeting your soul mate is like walking into a house you’ve been in before - you will recognize the furniture, the pictures on the wall, the books on the shelves, the contents of drawers: You could find your way around in the dark if you had to.”
