hello :) I am very impressed by your fish bag. did you use a premade pattern for it or did you design the pattern yourself? I don't really know why I'm asking as I don't have the sewing skills to make one like it but I still want to know. and also is anything else about the project that you'd like to share?
Hi! Thank you so much!! I drew out my own pattern, but was very heavily inspired by this video!
I took some liberties like making the bag overall bigger, using fusible applique instead of buttons for the eyes, and a single drawstring opening instead of two to more resemble a fish on the line (and also installed the lining completely different from the video WHOOPS lol). But this is where I recommend starting if you want to make one as well! There's also lots of written patterns and tutorials if you search "drawstring fish bag pattern", but the video does a good job illustrating how things go together.
But the fish bag was assembled mostly out of quilting scraps from my giant scrap bin so I could get a sample into the storefront for class advertising; I didn't expect all the love it's getting here!! I have been riding the high and cut like. 12 more LMAO, whether I assemble them or make them blind bags for class will depend on how I'm feeling 😂 thank you again for the ask!!!
