     As Jeremy spoke, Parker rested his head on his knuckle, watching the other man curiously. It was true his opinions weren’t revolutionary, and they conflicted somewhat with Parker’s, but they made the other man interesting enough to not completely dismiss him. And, of course, there was the matter of Jeremy’s powers which were more than a little beneficial.

     “What if I’m not interested in change?” He asked, his tone casual and genuinely curious, “What if I like being the villain?”

      Jeremy can tell he’s got Parker interested, so at least there’s that. It’s a start and hopefully he can keep the momentum.

      “You can enjoy what you do and want to change some things at the same time,” he said. “Otherwise, you’re just being complacent and stagnating. And if you’re content with stagnation, I’ve pegged you wrong.” He shrugged. “But to answer your question: what do you mean when you describe yourself as the villain?”

     “Yeah, I’m fine,” He responded, despite it being an obvious lie, “Just coming down from our… discussion. I always sort of crash after getting riled up. Probably an adrenaline thing. Nothing to worry about.”

      Jeremy tilted his head, curious because of how clear it was that Billy was lying, but couldn’t really pry without drawing suspicion to himself. “Alright. Sorry for getting you riled up. I can come off as kinda intense, I guess.”

    “Oh, right,” He gave his address before settling in a bit more, his arm resting across his chest, lightly clinging to his side.

      Jeremy watched Billy as they drove, curious. After a while, he broke the silence to ask, “You doing okay? You seem... tense.”

     “Yeah, it’s this hot new trend called not being a greedy bastard,” Parker snorted, leaning back in his chair, and crossing his arms, “That didn’t answer my question, though. Not shit you don’t want to work alone if you’re asking to join a gang. What’s your goal? Why would a disillusioned Avenger Jr. want to join my gang?”

     He looked Jeremy over for a moment, pursing his lips slightly, “And, if you’re from the Avenger’s school I’m thinking of the last time I had anything to do with one of you brats I got the shit kicked out of me in my own home. Unprovoked.”

      “Because I want to change how things are done. ‘Heroes’ and ‘villains’--” air quotes on both words “--have made a mess of things. And I can’t do that on my own, I tried. And I’ve tried the Avengers’ way and their way doesn’t work. Grudge matches and attacking people with no provocation isn’t the way to go.

      “--and I’m aware that’s not exactly the most revolutionary hot take.” He shrugged. “My point is, I like your way of doing things. And I think you have the potential to change things.”

Jeremy is not a good cook, but he makes up for it with his powers. He can make food good with those, even though he can’t actually cook the traditional way.
