I know i am actually the least active person ever on my blog but-- BROTHER. I cannot tell you how many times I've reread the scene where leonidas gets struck by lightning. I wish we had gotten more of stan and leonidas traveling together.

ALSO I haven't read the books in a while but like he really threw himself into becoming a better person. There was an insane amount of devotion there to not only leave the weird freaking cult but then also track down the president of the "enemy" nation in order to help him, all while the president himself wants to kill him

Something about the way leonidas so completely wants to become better that he is willing to let stan hurt him to prove it,, makes me crazy

Oh my god I've been reading this and it's been giving me thoughts so. Hope this sounds coherent. It's 8.00am right now so it probably won't be.

Firstly, you are so right. If there's one thing I absolutely LOVE about Leonidas it's how hard he works to be a better person. I feel like in a lot of media there's a lot of emphasis on the good guys convincing the bad guys to be good again (undertale comes to mind when I say this), but what I love about Leonidas is that he decides on his own accord that he's going to leave the alliance and join the good guys side. Like no one ever tells him to leave or gives him a reason to join the good guys side. He just does. And honestly, the will that man has to leave a toxic cult like organisation like the Noctem Alliance is crazy especially when you think their leader is herobrine aka most powerful being in Minecraft.

Side note but I'm also really thinking about when Leonidas just attempts to sacrifice himself to save a villager's life. Like dude that is very admirable if not slightly concerning at how willing he is to just. Die to save someone else.

Also never apologise for ever typing random stuff in my inbox. If there's one thing I love more than rambling about EC it's other people rambling to me about EC.

Holy shit I read this and it does not deserve to be stuck in tags. Oh my fucking god yeah literally this.

Yeah if there's one thing I've noticed about Leonidas (and a few other characters to an extent) is how passively suicidal he is. Like throughout book 3 every time he's faced with a near death experience he just. Accepts it? Like near the end of book 3 when he thinks he's about to die he just accepts it like it's inevitable and he's happy because he did the right thing and it's like. I can't really word it but it's like he thinks that now he's done the right thing his life immediately has no purpose. It's like he only thinks he's existing so he can do the right thing and help people and not to be like. Happy. ( I also think in book 3 part 1 there's a moment where Leonidas considers just letting himself die because of how tired and fed up he is but I'd have to double check it because it feels like something I've imagined)

Side note but now I'm thinking about it the only person who actively tries to convince a bad guy to go to the good side is Leonidas when he tries to convince Spyro to stop fighting at the end of book 3. I'm not having coherent thoughts but Something something Leonidas was part of the alliance so he's obviously seen a different side to them than the good guys see and so doesn't see them as all inherently evil. Just a thought idk.

Honestly the ending is one of the most powerful parts of the series and the fact that Stan can look past everything bad the Noctems have done and give them another chance is incredibly strong of him. I dunno I love the ending of EC I'm just insane about it

imo it's not even giving comically bad it's just giving. average movie. which is very very bad when it comes to a literal Minecraft movie. average with creepy animals is not. you don't want that when you're making something highly anticipated

^^ honestly fair take. personally i do not have high hopes because of how badly they fucked up the opening perspective shot. i cannot fathom why they went with a live action movie instead of animated with how stylized minecraft is and i think that’s what really fucks it up for most of us. the cast looks stacked but other than that. feel like this one’s a flopper

Absolutely! My local comic book shop has a TON of Minecraft comic books. I haven’t read any of them but they all look pretty solid.

There’s also Elementia Chronicles (cough my whole blog is dedicated to that series cough) it was my “book i read in middle school that i will always obsess over.” the first book is kind of slow to start but once things start happening they REALLY START TO HAPPEN there’s like murder and death (usually also murder) and classism somehow and the author (was a teen when he wrote this so it gets extra points and also) believes in trans Herobrine and yes Herobrine is in this series plus a bunch of other cyptids someone PLEASE ask me more about Elementia Chronicles I NEED to rant about it more

I also have read the series The Diamond Sword (I don’t remember liking it oops) and I also read the first book in the GameKnight999 series which, like the Minecraft Movie, is an isekai story and I don’t really remember much but somehow I feel like the book was probably 2-5x better than the movie will be
