In my previous post, I’ve shared some tips about transportation, expenses and things you may do on your first day.
Just to add more sample activities you may alternatively do if you are afraid of swimming or surfing because the waves are too strong and surfing might not be possible. I find ELYU as an artsy place. From colorful wall arts, industrial interiors to boho exterior designs of hostels and bars.
It’s a perfect place to take as many photos as you can post to your instagram or facebook or both.
Whenever we go back to ELYU, it’ll never be complete without spending a night of party at Flotsam & Jetsam Artist Beach Hostel.
We was never able to book a room at Flotsam & Jetsam because whenever my friends and I check its availability online, it is always not surprisingly fully booked, most especially during peak season (from March to May), still we’re trying to take our chances.

We have a friend who suggested Surfer’s Villa that is located few meters away from Flotsam & Jotsam and Costa Villa. I am so grateful to the management of Surfer’s Villa for always accommodating us whenever we needed a room to stay in ELYU. I will be discussing more about Surfer’s Villa on a separate post.
Since Surfer’s Villa is just few walks away to the beach and from Flotsam & Jetsam, we always have enough time to rest whenever we want to without worrying about not catching the sunset or the night full of party.
Talking about party, this is the real laban guys!
But before the party that normally starts at 8PM, you still have time for other things.
On a regular basis, we will set a time to drink a couple of bottle of our favorite #SanMiguelPalePilsen beer by the beach at 3PM or 4PM, to catch the sunset until it’s dark enough to transfer to another venue like Flotsam & Jetsam.
However, in my case, I get easily bored so I wont stay as early as 8PM in Flotsam & Jetsam because hype goes up around 11PM only. So, I would normally go to Camp Avenue alone or with my friends.
Camp Avenue organizes party with professional DJs every weekend and they have a golden rule that “What happens in Camp Avenue, stays in Camp Avenue!”. They also offer accommodation from their own design of Balinese inspired huts to tent pinching.

Alternatively, you may want to walk along the highway of San Juan to find a hang out place because there’s a lot! I’ll name a few below:
Mad Monkeys – acoustic night
Surf Shack – acoustic night
I will normally go back to Flotsam & Jetsam around 11PM to continue the partying however, if you are a person who’s not into crowded and loud places, it is much advisable to stay wherever you are.
After the night of partying, you will definitely try to ask yourself what happened last night. LOL! A delightful breakfast with ice cold water would help you remember.
There’s Bed and Breakfast few walks away from Surfer’s Villa called Dal-luyon Cafe Gallery. I always order Vigan Longganisa that comes with a free brewed coffee.
Good food. Good conversation. Fun day! This is before we prepare for our trip back to Manila.
My friends will always ask me how can they go back to Manila. There’s no need to go to San Fernando to book a trip back to Manila.
All you have to do is wait along the highway of San Juan because buses coming from the North like Ilocos are passing through San Juan La Union.
