Time to check on the shrew!

I've painted it in nail polish and am waiting for the outside and inside to dry before I continue, but when I checked on it I saw this???

Maybe it's because I had used some extra nail polish and I left it upside down to dry??

Oh my sweet sweet universe, my cat just came into my room chasing a shrew.

It hid in and so, naturally, I did the only thing I could think of. I moved shit and assisted him.

3/5 stars, could use some more improvement, cat got easily distracted from the hunt.

Actually, on second thought, this is gonna take a Lot longer to finish. I have a lot of mod podge, I have soaked paper, and I have a lot of white glue. This box is probably gonna take 2 days to dry at least. If I'm lucky, maybe only a day to paint it.

For this being the first time I'm really trying something like this, I think I'm making pretty good time with all things considered.

But it isn't fast ENOUGH. I assume it'll take another day or two, and ideally it was supposed to be done for tomarrow.

I'm gonna have to find another place to keep the skull till the box is done.

Box Progress 1

This, the picture above, is the lid. I had a circular cut of cardboard, a smaller cut clued atop, then I took strips sketchbook paper and dampened them, wrapping them and sequring/coating them with joy's white glue. For the very last covering, where I was done wrapping, I added a small amount of glue and used water to dilute it, spreading it across.

This is the box. I am following a certain pattern in how I add to it, though that's easier to see from the bottom of the box. I had used a toilet paper roll, where it is I think is clear. I'm using mod podge and cardboard for the box, and once I have all the strips of cardboard I want I'll likely do to It as I've done to the lid.

In the end, I plan to use black or gold string to add texture and appeal, and I want to use a red paint for the whole thing.

I might try to include beads, but that's for future me to figure out

I'm in the process of making the box!

Im using cardboard and mod podge to make it. I might use some paper too??? It depends how the cardboard goes, and if i want to smooth it out or make it easier to paint.

I was thinking about what i could use to cushion it, and I've come up with three things I might want to use. 1, moss. 2, sand. 3, both moss and sand.

My cat has started to bring things to the house, these things being shrews he killed.

I adore my cat and I am proud of everything he does, so naturally I want one of the shrews skull, since it's something he's killed, but especially since it's the first things he started hunting successfully.

If he starts bringing other things, I'll likely want one of each.

Right now however, I am extremely pleased since I've been given permission to get and keep one of the skulls.
