i got the feeling that they were scrambling to get a lot in because of a fear of not being able to make a sequel, but i *really* wish they had just taken a step back and given us more time to get to know the characters. Because the depth of characterization was absolutely the movie’s strong suit but they kind of got drowned out by the sheer PLOT of it all
