feelings of the heart
It’s when that fear goes away that you know you’ve found the right person to risk everything for.
Catherine Bybee, Not Quite Mine (via simply-quotes)
I spend the rest of the afternoon trying to explain to her one of the very saddest notions in love and life: sometimes the timing is wrong—and sometimes you realize the heart of the matter way too late in the game.
Emily Giffin (via drapetomania)
The enemy’s favorite weapons are guilt and shame. As marketplace and ministry leaders, we cannot allow the devil a stronghold to use these against us. The entrapment of allowing our hearts to receive, and even embrace the guilt and shame Satan sends our way, will completely undermine and diminish our leadership credibility. As James wrote in James 4:7, “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Receive and embrace the message from Isaiah 43:1 that God intended for you as a daughter of the King, “I have redeemed you and summoned you by name. You are mine” and, therefore, you are always enough.

Wow. it's been so long since I blogged on tumblr. But ya. It's tuesday and the second day of the first week of school and i'm loving this time alone. Nice, lovely breakkie with Arjun and then chatting in the lounge with the light leaking through the high glass ceilings, and just getting my life in order, I feel so blessed and happy. :)
"The reason that marriage is so painful and yet wonderful is because it is a reflection of the Gospel, which is painful and wonderful at once. The Gospel is—we are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared to believe, and at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope. This is the only kind of relationship that will really transform us. Love without truth is sentimentality; it supports and affirms us but keeps us in denial about our flaws. Truth without love is harshness; it gives us information but in such a way that we cannot really hear it. God’s saving love in Christ, however, is marked by both radical truthfulness about who we are and yet also radical, unconditional commitment to us. The merciful commitment strengthens us to see the truth about ourselves and repent. The conviction and repentance moves us to cling to and rest in God’s mercy and grace."
Timothy Keller
A lot of times we try to grow to be more and more like Christ. But we also need to treat others like they are Christ. And when we begin to see and value others the same way we value Christ, we will honour and love them like Jesus.

What stirs your heart, what moves you. What image or vision inspires you to dream, to work towards, to sacrifice for. What could possibly capture your soul so much, that you’ll die for it, and even, live for it. Why do you wake up? Why are you alive? What is it that your heart desires? What are you chasing after? Who are you?
Find the answer, and do it.
In the book of James, the Bible tells us that we should wait for God’s promises like a farmer waits for his harvest. Now, I’ve never seen a farmer plant a crop and then worry night and day about whether or not it’s going to come up. He doesn’t lose sleep thinking, “Oh, I hope that my corn is going to take root. Please, God, let my corn bring a harvest.” No, he waits with confidence, knowing that the harvest will come. He does his part, and he knows that seed will produce a good crop.
In the same way, we should wait confidently for the promises of God. We have to stand firm on His Word. It’s not enough to just hope that your situation is going to turn around. Instead of the attitude, “I hope I get well,” have the attitude of confidence and say, “Thank You, Lord, that I am getting well.” Start waiting like the farmer. Wait with a knowing. Wait with confidence. Be sure that as you put God’s Word into practice, just like the farmer, you will see that harvest of blessing in your own life in return.

Don’t let our public christianity becomes bigger than our private relationship with God. We do not want to be Christian in public who never prays in private.
How do we spend our time when no one is watching? Do we spend enough time with God, reading His word, so we can be shaped to be more like Him? Or do we always find reasons to not spend time with God because we say that we are too busy? What is our priority?
