“When you’re twenty-three you think it’s too late to do anything. Not until your forties do you realise that you still have time—not to do everything, perhaps, but at least everything that matters.”
— Eva Baltasar, Permafrost (via exhaled-spirals)
i think the weirdest thing is having left over information about someone. like i still know someone’s favorite girl name. or their favorite season. or someone’s address. i remember someone’s favorite ice cream flavors. and someone’s favorite childhood book. and the mental disorder their uncle has. i remember the ages and birthdays of their siblings. i remember the song they said they’d sing to their spouse. where do i put this down? where do i learn to forget?

I want a charm necklace that has little solid gold vegetables (garlic onion tomato potato kale) all around it
also the more lived experiences you have the more interesting and hopefully kinder and more compassionate and well-informed a person you’ll be. i hope everyone i love gets to age and age and age until we’re all grey and wrinkled and full of love & stories & laughter & the knowledge that all the moments of grief and sorrow were worth it
“If I had words to speak such a thing, I would have. But there were none that seemed big enough for it, to hold that swelling truth.”
— Madeline Miller, The Song of Achilles

“I’ve found that growing up means being honest. About what I want. What I need. What I feel. Who I am.”
— Epiphany
Escape screen time, rearrange furniture, open all the windows even if it’s cold, drop the baggage, drop the stuff piled up in the closet, drop the clothes I haven’t worn since 2019, go outside every day, breathe fresh air, stay out until it gets dark, feel the sun on my face
“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.””
— John Burroughs (via thegardennymph)
