Turnips on Tumblr

Hello everyone.

Sorry it has been a while since we last posted. It’s amazing that we have so many followers on here - well over 500! We are grateful for your support.  Unfortunately, there aren’t as many spikes on tumblr as there used to be. The tags are filled up with people searching for spikes rather than actual spikes. We don’t get submissions anymore. It’s sad because me and Amber have worked so hard on this blog to try and post spikes for everyone so that everyone can earn lots of bells to make ACNL more enjoyable. 

However, recently, we discovered that on another website, there is a spike everyday! It is on a reddit sub forum (http://www.reddit.com/r/acturnips) so please check out there! We will try to keep posting, but like I said spikes are uncommon on here nowadays.

Once again, thank you for your support! Still submit if you have a spike!

Turnip posting rules!

Hello animal crossers!

I think it’s about time that some ‘rules’ were created for posting in the turnip tags. After a recent message received on this blog concerning dates&times not mentioned on turnip spike posts, I think some changes should be made. I know this all sounds super serious (I’m not trying to be!) but it would make all of our lives easier. So these are the rules I am suggesting:

- Having a date, time and time zone on turnip spike posts.Ok so this is the big one. Firstly, other people have no idea when the spike you post is, adding the date/time can reduce the amount of asks you get saying ‘Have you still got a spike?’. Also, people on mobile phones can’t see when you’ve posted.

- Not posting in the tags when you are searching for a spike. This one isn’t as important, but it can be annoying when people post that they need a spike. It makes it harder for blogs like this to go through those tags and find spikes to reblog as we have to scroll through those posts. 

- Having set tags. Having set tags is the least of my concerns, as I track most of them. But it would be easier for all of us if there were less tags only for turnip spikes. I think the most popular are; #stalk market, #turnip spike, #turnipspike and #acnl turnips. If we can stick to those for now that would be so useful!

On a lighter note, we have finally got 300 followers! Thank you all so much for supporting our blog!!!! :D

Im bringing this around again because honestly, more than half the tag is just people searching for spikes. If you just keep an eye on the tag, someone will have a spike. I highly doubt someone will message you saying "hi I have a spike" so please be patient. I know Im putting this in said tags, but thats so people putting stuff in the tags will see.

Please co-operate with this as it will make life easier for those searching for spikes

Is it okay to ask for tips when letting people sell turnips?

Of course! Its your town so its okay to ask for tips, as long as you dont go about it aggressively or anything. If you simply put "tips appreciated :)" Im sure people wont mind, Ive gotten tips when I havent even asked for them before. Just dont expect everyone to, the AC fanbase is friendly, but some people dont always like to leave tips (for example, I currently have no bells so I wuold leave a smaller tip than usual)

You can shop at the T&Y Emporium and if you don’t have any turnips Joan is around in Altaira (my cyling town) you can buy turnips there. Just let me know if you wan to do so.

UPDATE: I will be later than I hoped and I’m really sorry for that. This has been a very busy day for me. Since that will happen I will keep the spike for tomorrow. That means I will have the spike on the 16th January and will end then. I will probably be around in 4h that I wrote this post but I’m not sure. Again I’m really sorry but I hope I can make up for it when I’m back for good.
