awildecard:
She’s mindlessly swiping through her instagram feed as she waits (impatiently) for Marley to just come out of the change room already and it’s not until she finally does that Kitty realizes just how little attention she’s been paying to the faces on her screen. Or how little she really cares about their lives or throwing some subtle shade when her focus is on Marley, but she’s def not dealing with that right now because –
“No way,” Kitty insists, her hands falling easily to the taller woman’s waist from behind – using her grip to encourage Marley to turn this way and that until she settles on the perfect angle in front of the mirror. “You’re a babe, Marls. The color def suits you.” She squeezes her friend’s hips as she props herself up just enough to look at their reflection from over the brunette’s shoulder and tries not to think about how the dress bring out the color of her eyes.
“You have to buy it.”
A chill shoots up Marley’s spine at the delicate touch from Kitty-- not so long ago, Marley was convinced that all the blonde wanted to do was punch her in the face-- and she tries not to think about the fact that the last time she was in a dressing room, she was reduced to tears. “You really think so?” Marley pipes out, before she can stop herself. Kitty isn’t the kind of girl who will dole out an unwarranted compliment, and Marley is trying to remind herself of that. Marley also doesn’t want to make it seem like she’s fishing... even though she might be. “I did just get paid... but it’s so close to the holiday. I don’t know if I can swing it right now.” She turns to the side and bites down on her lower lip. “Could you unzip me?”
