Why can’t Lotor be trusted?

He is the prince of the Galra, the son of Emperor Zarkon. Even if he gave up everything he has to live a secluded life on some planet somewhere never to touch the stars again, I still wouldn’t trust him to hand me a glass of water.

His blood has nothing to do with him as an individual. Isn't that why so many galra join the blade of marmora- to fight against their and the universes oppressors or why Keith was the head of Voltron and can still pilot black.

Lotor's mission is to take the name of the galra and create harmony with it. To right to the wrongs of centuries. And he is doing this along with Voltron and the coalition. We shouldn't have distrust in the coalition and we shouldn't wish heads powerful areas of it "gave up everything he has to live a secluded on some planet somewhere never to touch the stars again" just because of their ancestors they have publicly disapproved of.

You misunderstand me. It is not his blood that makes him untrustworthy, it is his station. He has grown into maturity as a prince, with privilege and power freely given to him. He never toiled, never worked for any of it.

The work he has only just begun means less than nothing to me. I could never put my trust someone like that.

Even whilst his privilege may be true he's still not in control of the position he was dealt just as you and I are not. He has, if in infancy, used said dealt privilege, name and platform to create change for the better. And that is his own decision for which his character should be judged.

He may never understand the work others who are not of his royal standing do just to live but that does not mean he is un-reasonable, reliable or trustworthy. Or that his actions and cause are any less just.
