@ronan-is-thee has requested for me to make a post that goes into more detail about what I have previously said. People often times want to only look at the positive and completely disregard the negative aspects of a topic that they are interested in, but that leads to stagnant ignorance. Whenever I scroll through my Instagram, I see a multitude of ‘ship’ pages that use same-sex relationships as a novelty item and for their own personal gain. We don’t know if an idol is straight, lesbian, bisexual, gay, and/or anything to that nature and it is not okay to assume such things. It’s like going up to Holland and shipping him romantically with all of these different females even though he is gay. It’s better to not assume about people because we do not know what we could get wrong. I identify as asexual and I would find it very uncomfortable if people were pushing me into a sexual relationship that they think would be “so cute.” Members of the k-pop community praise fan-service and genuine friendships as romantic signs and will post all about their fantasy of a relationship but will be completely silent when there are people committing suicide for the same things they are praising. You cannot have the positive without addressing the negative. Just because the LGBTQ+ is rightfully gathering the attention of global media, doesn’t mean that people who identify as such are not humans who deserve privacy and respect. I guess what I am just saying is that I often times see hardcore shippers of same-sex relationships make a fantasy land about things they have not experienced or become educated on and just use it for their pleasure when there are people who suffer for being apart of same-sex relationships and when people introduce a straight ship or call them out, they stick by their ship without knowing who the idols are as people. Get a life and stop viewing the LGBTQ+ community as pawns in your own imagination.++++the same things could be said for straight ships
