Working with Github Pull Requests and Private Repos Between Organizations
I recently ran into a subtle roadblock when dealing with Pull Requests from a forked private git version control repository between two organizations (not individuals) on github.com. The oddity was that I could see the git diff details for the Pull Request, but the commits themselves were not accessible, in fact, github.com displayed a 404 error in place of indicating that the repository was private; security measure possibly...?
After some testing, I realized: to allow my personal account to work with the Pull Request, my personal account had to be added to the requesting organization as a "member" of an organization's team. Once that was done, I could review and administrate the Pull Request; included in which, was to add the remote to my local git repository.
For those of you that may experience this issue, here is your answer. I hope it helped.

White Snake - Beautiful But Flat
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival's world premier of White Snake was a GOOD production. As always, the production value of the show was unmatched. The authentic kimonos ( probably 20 or more), show length video projections, puppets and live orchestration made White Snake another shining example of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival's multimillion dollar budget. Performances were the real challenge. Even though there was plenty of humor the performances lacked depth. "Greenie" was obviously the comedic touchstone, but as a character, started the way she finished - intense. She was not the only one. I was disappointed that each performer simply fit a cliche stereotype and lacked depth. Instead of finding moments of humanity, they played to the comedy and allowed the superficial quality of the situation to override any "truth" that may sit deep beneath the text. I've always felt that truth lies within what we don't see. They never explored that. Over all the show was good, but don't expect anything more then a visually appealing show with a few laughs.

Restoring the Holly Theater in Medford Oregon
Raise your hand if you would love to see Medford go from empty furniture buildings and old department stores to a glorious thriving artistic metropolis! I mean who wouldn't want to see this town brought back from a blatant reflection of a struggling economy?! I don't think that Mayor Gary Wheeler, the City Council or any business person who relies on this town for his/her livelihood would do ANYTHING but what's in the best interests of the community. I applaud their effort to rally behind such a cause, because its our duty as community members to support the organizations that have brought such wonderful art and culture to our struggle valley! So, explain something to me. Why? Why would the Mail Tribune, Gary Wheeler and the JPR Foundation work so hard to sweep under the rug everything that the Craterian Ginger Rogers Theater has done? If 250 seats are preventing larger acts from visiting our valley, then why hasn't that stopped Peter Frampton, Bryan Adams, Manhattan Transfer, Bruce Hornsby, Judy Collins, Lewis Black, Bill Cosby, Bernadette Peters, Whoopi Goldberg, Indigo Girls, Los Lonely Boys, Queen Latifah, Mercy Me, Ani Difranco, David Crosby, Art Garfunkel, Randy Newman, Craig Ferguson from playing at the Craterian? Most of them appeared this year or within the last few. I mean, unless you see Art Garfunkel and Manhattan Transfer as small time traveling artists. Or, if you think Lewis Black and Bill Cosby are just washed up comedians. Let me be clear: I love EVERYTHING the valley has done, to this point. I support the Craterian 100% because they have always brought quality to this valley - even when the valley (you and me) may never have supported them. When ticket sales have had record declines, they continued to push the envelope and bring art to the valley. We talk about a marque and lighted sign as being something to rally behind - like that's the start of something new; like no one else has been able to do it. Unless you've walked into the Craterian, bought tickets, supported the arts in Medford, and seen the effort their staff and board has put into maintaining the caliber of entertainment that can only be found 100's of miles away (other than Britt and OSF), then you can't rally so easily behind another theater without seeing what it's going to do. Did you know the Craterian has been around since the 20s, renovated in the 90s and a fully functional venue since then? And to top it off, they have a lighted sign. Let's get real. If you think that adding a theater only BLOCKS from the Craterian won't kill them, you're kidding yourself. If you think that somehow ticket sales within Medford will skyrocket because of 1,000 more seat to fill, you're kidding yourself. And lastly, if you think that the Holly Theater is the only opportunity to bring the caliber they speak of to our valley, then you're... (fill in the blank). If the Craterian was bursting at it's seams and was simply not capable, then I would agree that we need something else. But, they aren't and we don't. For all of you who do support the arts and think the Holly Theater is needed, then I whole heartedly applaud your effort to see it through. I applaud your willingness to help our community and bring more to our valley - I really do. But if you haven't spent money, attended performances at the Craterian and read all the materials, then I implore you to do so this year; form a strong educated opinion and prove me wrong - I have no problem with that. My intent is not to incite controversy, but to speak my mind as a very concerned patron. Lift the vale of enthusiasm and look in the eyes of the problem.

Defining Moments
We all see life as either a hope for the future or in comparison to the past. The take we have on life is rarely based on what is at this instance in time; as a result, we miss out on many subtle moments that make our future more obtainable or the past more residual.
Like a sculpture itself, are lives are formed by small intentional (or accidental) strokes, strikes or bumps. These actions that take their indefinite hold on the future whether the intent is realized or not. Our lives are a culmination of defining moments, not broad major brush strokes. Its easy to put more weight on relationships, a career, life and death because they carry with them more emotional baggage. In truth, these life events are a summation of smaller more "trivial" defining moments. We judge life by it's "quality" not its existence; "he lived a good life" or "he went before his time" are all summary statements of what actions he/she took to have a "good life". There's not much to say about life itself, "Yep, he lived".
Like the sculptor, you cannot change the past, we can only redefine the result. Picasso never made a symmetrical shape in his career, but his work was considered a masterpiece; so can you live your life. The key is to acknowledge those defining moments for what they are and allow your life to be what it is and move on to the greater achievements of the future.
