*Dusts off Tumblr dashboard*
Hello!
My inability to keep multiple socials up to date is shining through as I update my Tumblr for the first time in 2 months. In case you don't use Twitter the last couple of months have been incredibly productive! I started a team to begin early development on a game called Fragments just in time for a festival based in Nottingham called GameCity where I exhibited and heard nothing but fantastic feedback from developers and others alike. I made a prototype game in a day which I'm hoping to further polish and maybe release sometime in the next few months (more on that in a tick), and I'm currently preparing to head off to Launch Conference next week in Birmingham to further promote Fragments!
While Fragments is in a bit of a lull where I'm recreating my old notes in a more presentable (and readable) format, I started working on a smaller project a couple weeks back.
NOTDOBA (don't ask) is a local 2 player game where you face off against another player in a corridor of bullet-time ballet and strategic timing. It's a turn based game where the aim of the game is to score points by hitting your opponent with your "bullet". Bullets travel every 2 spaces while players travel 1, players can dive for 2 spaces dodging any incoming projectiles and either player can begin a new turn leaving the other with 1 second to respond. With it being somewhat a whitebox prototype it doesn't represent final gameplay or appearances so keep that in mind. Feel free to give it a go! Be sure to let me know what you think and give me a shout if you come across anything out of the ordinary!
Known bugs:
- Sometimes at the beginning of a round 1 player may start their turn 1 space ahead of their opponent (reset after this).
- If a player occupies the middle space in the grid, bullets don't work.
- If a player doesn't move at the end of a turn, they will move forward automatically no matter which layer they're on.
Windows 7 only (8 wouldn't work but this was in 1 case).
Thank you for reading!
Adam.
Edit: I should say, the download link is in the title!
