I was in PLANET OF THE APES Heaven tonight listening to the film’s Art Director William J Creber talk about designing the Ape City and especially filming the Statue of Liberty finale. Been slowly getting back into writing after a tough few months. Finding a workable method to get around this “block” and get words on to paper. So I have a legal pad with me at most times (the one with the most lines) and pencils and sharpener. I hand wrote five pages the other day of what will either be a short story, eventual novella, screenplay, or all of the above. Then I transcribe a page at a time, revise, expand, delete, etc. So the typed page automatically becomes a second draft. I’d love to achieve Stephen King’s 7-page per day writing diet, but I’m happy with 1-2 for now. #babysteps #writing #whateverworks #slowmotionisbetterthannomotion (at Los Angeles, California)

Went to buy SAVING PRIVATE RYAN on 4K at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. I asked the clerk if the steelbook included the blu-ray (it isn’t listed on the package). The blu includes all the special features while the 4K disc is “movie only”. They looked on the BB site and it said “yes, blu-ray included”. Went up to the counter and doublechecked with the cashier. She looked it up and also told me “yes”. I bought it and opened it in front of her and sure enough: no blu-ray. The store manager ended up swapping it out with the 4K/blu-ray combo...and also gave me the steelbook packaging for my troubles. Yesterday was awesome running into dear friend and fellow Cinema 140 alumni Kim Boutin! Dad had a good day and appreciated her visit ☺️ (at St. Luke's Hospital (New Bedford, Massachusetts))

Dad is still in the ICU fighting respiratory failure brought on by Parkinson’s and COPD. But today (Day 12) we were happy to see him awake and more alert. Turned out to be a pretty good day overall...Spent some one-on one time with my sister Liz. Got the chance to see one of my favorite films of last year, LOVING VINCENT at one of my favorite places, Sue and Charles Hauck’s Gallery X. Added bonus: Mom and me meeting local artist Kat Knutsen who painted 100 of the 65,000 oil paintings for the Oscar-nominated film! Ended my day with a Facetime chat with my Jeana. Then I finally sit down for another ICU sleepover with Dad and the time reads 11:11 (of course). Dad just had an ultrasound and I saw his heart beating away. Told the nurses “That’s a big heart right there” Feeling blessed for the love and care he’s getting here.
