"Adapt Or Die" Oil, graphite on canvas 48×60 inches, 2017 The darker line represents an entity that continues on indefinitely because it's able to adapt. The two lighter lines change course a bit, but not enough, so they die. . . #adamreidfox
Believe it or not, I picked up the canvas I was working on before the coffee touched it! .... (Things they don't teach you in art school.) #catlikereflexes
All my work is very personal to me. One of my goals as a human, is to continually make myself vulnerable- and as an artist, through the work, almost as if each piece is a page from my diary. However, this piece is special to me, it's my largest work to date, it took me nearly 3 months to complete. But more importantly, it tells the story of a quite long and dark season of depression. From a distance, you may only see 7 dark colomns, these symbolize time. Specifically, hard times, seasons of difficulty. When you get closer, details are revealed. Namely even darker horizontal lines drawn firmly and determined, representing a life, passing through these dark seasons. But each time they pass through, the line moves up one level. It's during times of struggle that we grow the most, and if we can manage to make it through, we emerge stronger than before. So, the piece is not mainly about depression or hard times, but hope, and the strength we gain from walking through and overcoming them. The title is "Will To Survive". . . Swipe to see a detail shot. . . #adamreidfox @adamreidfox
Short interview I did a couple months back is live. Check it out and tell me what you think! 🖤 (Link is in the bio!)
{Sound on} Working on a third piece of a series of 5. ✍️✍️✍️ . #adamreidfox
New work in progress. 🖤
"Bridges" Oil, graphite, colored pencil on canvas 24 x 24 x 1.5 inches, 2018 I'm finally calling this one finished. It was inspired by one of the goals listed in the mission statement of the Lepsien Art Foundation: . "Build bridges between different cultures and nationalities for more acceptance and mutual respect." . I'm honored that it will very soon be entering the Lepsien Art Foundation Collection in Dusseldorf, Germany. #adamreidfox
Coffee break cuddles with Cooper. 🖤
What do you see?
Plans for the next piece. I'm excited about this one.
"Strange Bedfellows" Oil and graphite on canvas 24 x 24 x 1.5 inches, 2018 #adamreidfox
"Isolation (Perceived)" Oil, graphite on canvas 22x28 inches, 2018 . . Perceived isolation refers to a completely subjective feeling of loneliness, lack of social support from friends and family, or disconnectedness from society at large. . . #adamreidfox
Night is so quiet and peaceful. Everything feels balanced. Even my dog is quiet and restful. I've found I am able to focus/reflect more intensely at night. Anyone else?
Future lines... Aren't they cute?
Finished this one up. Last coat is drying now! "Compromise" Oil, graphite, colored pencils 22 x 28 inches, 2018 😊 . . @adamreidfox, #adamreidfox
