No matter how much I want hormones and top surgery and to be read as male I sometimes wonder if Iām trans enough. I donāt get terrible dysphoria. Iāve always been a tomboy and I wanted to be a boy when I was a kid but Iām in my mid-twenties and I only just started to think about being trans and transitioning and the idea makes so much sense to me and itās exciting but Iāve never been depressed about my gender or seen a stranger when I look in the mirror. Are there other transmen who can relate?
I can relate; I ended up asking a question similar to this on Yahoo! Answers a while back lol! And the few replies I got all suggested I see a Sex Therapist or attend my local LGBT+ group for answers since that would be best to seek a proper answer.
But Iām too much of a chicken shit to go, Iām too scared Iād be told to leave and told that Iām not transgendered, just like to cross-dress, etc. because I donāt really suffer any dysphoria or see a stranger when I look into the mirror - well I mean I do since Iāve changed my appearance lol, but I look at my breasts and think,Ā āWell, you two are gonna be gone soon (dunno how soon is soon) so you better have fun while it lasts.ā and go on my merry way to shower or dress >_>;;
honestly, with the way iāve been dressing and all this other shit under the sun, i feel like my family thinks iām lesbian?? lmao
and itās just... iām not? i think i identify most as being pandemisexual now, which is weird to say that; i just donāt care if youāre boy or girl or whatever.
i donāt really care about sexuality, and i donāt really bring it up, and nor do they unless itās a current event that we see on the news.
and iāve talked multiple times about liking chris evans, but thatās more because of his fantastic dorito shaped body that i really like *_* but family is just ??? about me and the way i dress.
itās a lot harder coming out as trans than it would be coming out as a lesbian i guess. my family is pretty open minded, but i still donāt know how they would feel about being me being ftm. it also doesnāt help that i still live at home... i donāt even have a job to support myself right now either. it kinda sucks since i want to be more independent but i canāt since... this whole ftm thing and depressing episodes that i have constantly holds me back from a lot of things...
Sorry for my bad photos.. didnāt think my front camera would wash me out so much! And cat fur, Oh Lord, the cat fur, itās like glitter, youāll never get rid of it... Ah... yes... remember to put deodorant on after you put binder on... I was in a rush when that happened lol. When that happens, I use Zote,Ā which is freaking amazing since it gets out difficult stains like deodorant, sweat stains, and even food stains - which my sister uses often to get out of her chefās uniform white jacket!
Here... We... GO!
Last week my GC2B BinderĀ 2XL came in! And Iāve been wearing it for almost a week now to see how things go before I typed up a proper review. I very rarely see plus size FTM in the tags, especially when it comes to looking up GC2B reviews and photos. I hope this review helps other plus size FTM in their decision in buying from GC2B :)
I had an Underworks Full Binder, which was a huge mistake even though it gives me great stomach control, but since itās about 100°F+ seven months out of the year, it was a bad purchase on my part and I rarely wore it because I sweated, a lot. I opted for high impact sports bras in the mean time since I didnāt have money for a GC2B Binder earlier in the year.
GC2B Binder was very easy for me to put on. Inhale putting on and taking off (doing the X motion when pulling shirts off) while slowly exhaling makes this easier than my Underworks did, which was a huge work out in itself.
I have a 44D Bust and 42in Hip Size (if you guys need to know), and this flattens me perfectly from the side! From the front, it takes a bit of finagling to properly position my breasts without pushing them upwards and make it look like Iām wearing a sports bra or push up bra. Wearing body fitting shirts still makes it look like I still have breasts (you canāt get rid of breast fat with the binder...) but wearing loose fitting shirts gets rid of it with the illusion of wrinkles and folds.
Iāve been wearing this binder without a tank top underneath simply because itās winter and I donāt need it. When summer rolls around though, I will be wearing a camisole under the binder since they are thinner and breath more where my body type is concerned. The only thing that itches is the tag on the binder if I donāt lie it flat haha! Iāve worn it in public a few times, and it doesnāt ride up, or bunch up anywhere. Sometimes I do have to reposition my breasts since they do like to move together to form the infamousĀ āuniboobā, and for me that gets uncomfortable. However, a quick run to the restroom to fix it, fixes it.
It pulls taught around the breast area and is not uncomfortable at all! And itās SO soft... I honestly want a pillow made of this material so I can sleep for days...
My only complaint: Excess fabric by the armpit area, which I circled in red on the 4th picture. This is usually caused by pushing the breasts close to the chest (if youāre unfamiliar of the struggle with large breasts), itās theĀ āboob fatā that we so lovingly call it. This is easily fixable by sewing a small mid-armhole dart here:
BUT I am not sure how this will impact the comfort and I havenāt done it quite yet.... but just pulling that small excess of material down on mine makes the binder more fitting for a larger bust size (and contains all that breast fat).
Unfortunately, if youāre wearing a form fitting shirt this bit of the binder does sorta kinda stick out on me, I cannot speak for everyone since everyone is built differently. But I wear a tank top underneath my shirts which helps lay this bit of fabric down. And itās winter. So Iām wearing sweaters/jackets so no one can really notice it except lilā olā me.
Other than that, I give GC2B Binders an A+ for this awesome plus size binder and highly recommend anyone who had their doubts to give it a shot!
my internal monologue while walking around anywhere public: [IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL IāM NOT A GIRL]
I was looking at AZ events to see if any Autumn Events were picking up, and noticed AZ Pride was coming up in October. Iāve never been to a Pride Parade before because Iāve seen and heard so many bad things that is mostly from the attendees. I also donāt want to go with personal friends or even family because I donāt want them to know anything about me.
I donāt want to check it out by myself because Iād feel like a loser and wonāt have anyone to talk to that I know personally. But I wish I had someone to go with at the same time lol, I hate that feeling so much!
I wish I had more confidence in myself to attend that support group though... but Iām still nervous and scared of it all. I feel like I wonāt be accepted because I still look, sound, and act like a girl (I just turn girl mode on when I get super nervous and anxious, like a self defense mechanism).
I havenāt even met anyone around my age who is in the same boat as I am. And I have NO idea where to look! I just feel defeated right now.
5454)Ā Sometimes I wish I would get breast cancer, only to have a "legitimate" reason to remove my breasts and not have anyone questioning my reasons for not wanting them...
Fashion, like any industry, has its share of quackery, and no one gets treated to more "miracle products" or "life-changing purchases" (Spanx for men anyone
5208)Ā I think I'm too late. I finally reached a place where I'm comfortable with my identity, and physically I'd like to transition, but I'm almost thirty and I have a career and I feel like changing my name and transitioning socially would be almost impossible. I wish I didn't care.
5057)Ā I feel defeated. A character in an anime I've been told is trans turns out to be that way because of supernatural reasons, "their should switched places". Just, is it too much to ask for a single actual trans man in anime? That wasn't cis first then became trans because magic or science or whatever. A single one? I've probably cried more about this than I should, but I just feel so robbed of the possibility of a show I've dreamed of. It hurts to never see representation ever, it hurts and I cry
I'm sorry you feel that way, but in Japan LGBT+ issues are still a touchy subject. Even Yurikuma Arashi had to mask their lesbian title to get made, but the storyline was about discrimination in Japan about LGBT+.
Kotaku had a good article about it:Ā http://kotaku.com/yurikuma-arashi-tackles-the-subject-of-homosexuality-in-1701428985
I wouldnāt dismiss this article just because the show is about lesbians, but it's a very good read to know where Japan stands.
It would be nice to see a transgender character, and you might see them more in shounen animeās instead (usually a villain...) but we would probably see a transgender character in American cartoons (or comic books) before we see it in anime.
I hope in the future weāll get an anime like this, but youāll have to find a manga that features a transgender character as a protagonist, and it has to be hella good to catch the attention of animator companies.
Or we could luck out since a lot of animators are breaking away from their stuffy company counterparts and holding KickStarter campaigns to make their own animeās. That is a great way to get transgender characters into anime too.
So donāt give up hope :) There are still a lot of anime and undrawn manga still out there, waiting to be animated and storylines to be told (that isnāt yaoi or yuri)!
Thank you!! I did not know these type of clothes existed! Iāve always avoided the pool because I didnāt like the idea of wearing a bathing suit... and I also burn easily, but Iām trying to lose weight and swimming is one of the easiest options I have during summer without dying in our sun and heat!
