pouting up at her brother, she slapped his arm playfully. “you’re so mean. i’m actually so embarrassed right now.” addison huffed. “i knew i shouldn’t have listened to mom. who goes to a party as minnie mouse ??”

nala couldn’t help but laugh, even her naive sense was amusing and adorable at the same time. “yes baby it is a costume party, but not that kind of costume.”
“not this kind of costume ?? --what do you mean ?? i thought you’d be allowed to wear whatever costume you wanted to.” addison spoke with a frown, looking around. “oh my god, people are staring at me. sos, call 911 !! help me, nala. i need to get out of this costume right now.”
“what do you mean, ‘this isn’t a costume party’ ?? i didn’t come dressed as minnie mouse for nothing.”

grabbing a drink, sam STROLLED through the crowd until he spotted a familiar person and made his way over. “ the party has officially arrived. ” he mused flashing a BRIGHT smile at the other. “ now where’s my gift ? — kidding, however i’m not kidding about shots and you better be up for some. ”
now let’s be real-- the only reason addison stepped foot into the frat house, was to see sam. it was his birthday and that was something she definitely didn’t wanna miss. “hey !!” she giggled as he appeared, giving him a quick hug before nodding. “i did get you something. hold up.” she laughed, beginning to search in her bag. eventually, she pulled out a hideous sweater with a hedgehog printed on it. “i hope you like it !!” the brunette smiled brightly, linking her arm with his. “i don’t drink, sam. you keep forgetting that.”

addison gasped as the person in front of her made his confession, holding up her hand. “high five !! we’re twinsies. i felt so lonely, being the only sober one in here.” she giggled.

❛ you know, i always loved the great gatsby. i read it 25 consecutive times in fifth grade, because i really wanted to be nick carraway. i don’t know why. not sure i imagined by childhood obsession accompanied by alcohol & a flapper dress i borrowed from my sister to make a lasting impression, but, y’know. ❜ he grinned shamelessly.

“do you think Gatsby really threw parties like this?” Bodhi asked while looking around the room at the decor and the people who were drinking, though he thought it was a bit extra he was here to celebrate sam’s birthday and drink some booze. looking over at the person beside him, bodhi couldn’t help but smirk. “do you think you can keep up? i can get a little wild.”
“no, he didn’t. this horrible party should have a different name. great gatsby is disrespected.” addison huffed, crossing her arms. “pretty sure i can keep up with you, bodhi. let’s be real now-- i always take care of drunk ricky. it can’t get worse than that.”

“what kind of party would it be without me?” nathaniel laughed while adjusting his suit and tie, looking at the others around him dancing while the sounds of chatter and music boomed from the room, “i’m not much of a dancer, but after a few shots who knows what’ll happen. wanna get a drink?”
“i dunno. possibly even more horrible than it already is.” addi joked, sipping from her soda. “if you dance, i’m not dancing with you. i look like an idiot whenever i try to.” she chuckled softly, getting up. “i guess i could use another soda.”

The brunette needed no form of liquor courage to have fun, but after four shots and several beers, a rhythm ran through her ( much alike the intoxication ) pulsing in her veins as she took a second to walk a wavy line through the sea of people, cash splashed and shots decorating a tray, “have fun with me,” she hollered in delight, moving over to a table, draining one into her system as she moved. “need some liquor courage?” she questioned with a smirk, ducking behind them as a figure passed, “I may or may not have ticked someone off, hide me?” she laughed, shocked how her night had turned out like this already.
“oh my god.” addison whispered to herself as what it felt like the hundredth drunk person walked up to her that night. this was why she didn’t drink-- she’d get even more annoying than she already was when sober. “let’s.. hide you.” she replied, grabbing her gently and leading her to the other side of the table where she couldn’t be seen by others. “want some water ??”

Queenie wandered around the party, third or fourth glass of champagne in her hand. The band was loud and playing jazz and swing music, which made her sway happily to the music. “What’s a girl gotta do to get you to dance with her?” she asked, once she approached the other. “C’mon, you’ve got about three more glasses of champagne or a few shots before I’m gonna be tempted to dance on tables, so make the best out of tipsy Queenie while you can!”
as she awkwardly moved to the music, addison tried to understand what queenie was yelling over the loud music. “uh..” she murmured, rubbing the back of her neck. “is having you dancing on tables what we really want here ?? don’t overdrink.”

“nala !!” addison barged into the house without even caring to knock on it or ring the doorbell. why would she, when she was visiting someone who was like the sister she never had ?? however, as she searched around the obvious parts of the house, she couldn’t find her. making her way upstairs, she heard some singing come from the closed bathroom door, making addi giggle. “oh my god..” she whispered to herself, walking up to it and taking out her phone to record it and imessage it to her friend who could listen to it after she got out of the shower. “get out of the shower, shakira !!”
