who we are | addison & aiden
Suburban life was exactly what Aiden expected it to be: boring as shit. Of course he was regretting agreeing to this entire move - well, it wasnât so much of a move as it was a move in. Despite the fact that they settled in a little over a month ago, the eldest Kennedy still wasnât used to his new surroundings; honestly, he wasnât used to having a real place to call home. But Zaire seemed happy, as did Arielle, which was all that mattered. They had friends here and even relationships.
Aside from his screwed up relationship with Joss Bennet and Nikki Monroe, Aidenâs greatest relationship was currently with Randy, the man at the liquor store closest to his apartment. The hunter made his way through the aisles of the store, eyeing the wide variety of chips. It was going to be a slow nightâŠagain. As he reached for a bag of doritos, the hunter froze in his spot. That voice. He knew that voice.
He practically ducked as he crept closer to the front of the store, hiding behind a magazine stand. The woman at the counter had her back towards him, so Aiden couldnât see her face. He was silent as he tried to listen to her make small talk with the cashier and - no, it couldnât be. He had lost contact with Addison but he had known her for years, regardless if he had never actually seen her face.
âCrap,â he muttered to himself, watching her walk out of the store. He wasnât sure how to go about something like this. So instead of mustering up the courage to introduce himself, Aiden decided to follow her. He tossed three dollars on the counter before making his way out of the store with nothing in his hands.
He kept his distance as he followed her, the entire time wondering why the hell he was doing this. What exactly was he going to do once he caught up to her? What if she was going home? Or maybe with a significant other? What if it wasnât even her? âShit,â the words escaped the hunters lips when he suddenly found himself being pushed up against the side of the building, the womanâs elbow at his throat.
Well, that took care of breaking the ice.
âAlright, alright, I know this looks a bit suspicious, but I can explain,â he quickly began, his voice surprisingly at ease for such a compromising position. But instead of explaining, Aiden just fell silent - holy shit, she was beautiful. He wondered if she would be able to recognize him by voice alone, just like he had done with her.
Tonight had started out normally enough for Addison, sheâd gotten off work at about 6:30 and after changing from her uniform to her regular clothes, Addison had left work to her usual liquor store. As always, Addison had a date lined up for her Friday night... with a six pack and Netflix.Â
Her super important Friday night plans seemed to be getting an unusual disruption as she paid for her liquor and exited the store, only to hear someone follow her. For the first few seconds, she ignored the footsteps behind her. But when they didnât turn to the personâs car on the other side of the parking lot or somewhere, Addison got a little suspicious. A few moments later as she approached her own car and the footsteps hadnât altered their path, she went on high-alert. She knew it was a man, a little over 6 ft. tall, but she was certain she could take care of him.Â
In a flash of movement, Addison whirled around and before the guy knew what had hit him, she had him shoved up against the wall, ready to threaten to arrest him. But just as she was about to do so, the man spoke and Addison gasped.Â
"Aiden?â she asked uncertainly, her head cocking to the side a bit and her brows furrowing as she concentrated, forgetting she still had her elbow jammed into his throat. Sheâd immediately recognized his voice, but what were the odds that sheâd actually run into the man sheâd fallen for over the airwaves all those years ago??Â
Even over 2 years later, this song makes me ridiculously happy.

Without even taking his eyes off of the approaching brunette, Teddy began to snap his fingers at his only other employee to signal that he should get up off his ass and start making the lady a sandwich.
Which would have been weird if he hadnât already secretly changed the name of his BLTs to the Officer Mac Special. The kid knew the drill by this point â whenever the hot cop came around he had to get up and start cooking while Teddy flirted away. Technically, he did owe him at this point â Teddy let him pretend that he owned the food truck to impress a bunch of teenage girls last weekend. Oh to be young and in love, right? âUh, flattery gets you everywhere, Officer Mackenzie,â he jested, smirk still in place. âHow else do you explain me getting out of that ticket? You were pretty keen on writing me up, I had to flirt my way out of it with your partner.â Which, okay, if he hadnât been lucky with Addison, it might have been his next logical step. Teddy took a look behind him to make sure his compadre was going at it, making his favorite customer a sandwich before he turned back to her with a small, dopey smile. âHow about I turn over the old tip jar and see about takinâ you out to a restaurant that isnât on wheels?â he offered up in perhaps the most shit-eating sincerity he could muster while still sounding totally kidding just in case he misread the situation and she decided to chomp down on his heart just like a BLT special. âIâll even wear a shirt without grease stains on it. You can stay in uniform, if you want. Easy access to a taser is totally understandable.â
She couldnât help the grin that came to her lips when he called her 'Officer Mackenzieâ, though she bit her bottom lip to try and hide just how ridiculous she was being. âYouâre just lucky Officer Kovac loves hearing how great he is.â she quipped, though Teddy getting out of his ticket had very little, if anything to do with her partner. Sheâd merely looked into his gorgeous eyes and Addison had been ready to tear the offending ticket up right then and there.
When he turned around, she took advantage of the moment and glanced at the window beside him where she could see her reflection. Noticing, with horror, that a flyaway strand of hair was sticking up and extremely out of place, Addison quickly made to push it back in place, just as Teddy turned back towards her.
The brunette immediately dropped her hands to her sides, hoping the gorgeous man in front of her hadnât noticed. Two seconds later, after sheâd managed to comprehend what he had just asked her, she was desperately fighting to keep her mouth from doing the same. Was he actually asking her out on a date?
Officer Mac had been so focused on work, that sheâd forgotten how long it had been since Addison had actually been asked out. Sheâd been trained how to handle so many emergency situations, but nothing from the police academy told her what to do when that cute sandwich guy you almost gave a ticket to asks you out.
Finally, and with an embarrassed laugh, Addison managed to get herself together. âYeah, umm, that would be great.â she replied, trying to keep her response as short as possible to keep herself from rambling stupidly about just how great it actually would be. She reached forward and grabbed a flyer that was placed on the counter right beside where his elbow rested. Glancing shyly up at him as she reached forward with the other hand, she also took the pen that he had been holding to take his customerâs orders. Trying very hard not to grin even more stupidly when her fingers grazed his.
Quickly, she wrote down her number and then pushed the flyer back towards him. Looking up at him, she offered him a one-shoulder shrug and a small smile. âCall me sometime and maybe Iâll leave the taser at home.â she said, offering him her best imitation at a seductive wink. She then placed the $4.79 that she owed for her sandwich plus $2 extra for tip on the counter beside him and headed back towards her car, using every ounce of self-control she possessed to keep from skipping away. Was she really going to go on a date with Teddy Morris?!
guys, please donât hate me for being an unproductive little shit the last few days! i promise iâm whipping my ass into gear! also, donât hate me for bringing even more trash bbs into your lives when i still have so much other stuff (i.e. replies & starters) to do!Â

Teddy had moved around a lot. His mom had passed when he was little, before he even had a chance to remember her face, and his father was an active duty military man who had done his very best to protect him â even if that meant he had to uproot their life every year and move to a different state or even country for work. He had started growing tired of the wandering at the age of about seven, but luckily Theodore had developed a set of self-deprecating humor and his own unique skills that made the moving bearable because, unfortunately, the moving never really seemed to stop. There had been a minor slip-up in Oklahoma City one rather boring summer when Teddy was about 20. As a wolf without a pack or even a permanent home, his father usually kept the beast in Teddy tame by investing in homes with basements and heavy duty padlocks. One accident had led to another and before Teddy knew it, he was on the run from wolf hunters. It was a whole thing. They hadnât bothered him in years, however, and when Teddy knew it was time to let some roots settle, there was no doubt in his mind that it would be in Naperville. It was his motherâs hometown. From culinary school in Chicago, Teddy knew he wasnât too keen on working in a restaurant. He wanted roots, of course, but not too many. His investment in a food truck had sort of been a random purchase, but one he didnât regret too much. No matter where you parked, hungry people would come â that was always a given. One of those hungry consumers? Addison Mackenzie. She was stunning. Sheâd actually been one of the truckâs very first customers â completely by accident. Heâd come back from a bathroom break to find her yelling at one of his employees, a kid heâd hired straight out of high school, about being parked too close to a fire zone. His employee had been scared shitless. He found it pretty amusing. He shoved his sunglasses higher up on his nose, leaning over the truckâs window, shooting her a smirk as she got out of her car and walked over his direction. âOfficer,â he greeted in what appeared to be a teasing tone but was actually just pure amusement. âLooking lovely as usual. Iâm not in a fire zone again, am I?â If it wasnât so outrageously illegal, he probably would have done it just to get her attention.
There were few instances in life that could make Addison Mackenzie act like anything other than the professional, tough, cop woman who would tackle a man to the ground without a second thought that she was. And unfortunately for Addison, Teddy Morris was one of those few things.Â
Things between them had started out normally enough. Sheâd almost arrested him for being parked in a fire zone but ended up forgetting the ticket completely as he swept her off her feet with those blue eyes, tussled hair, charmingly crooked smile and amazing BLT.Â
The rest was history.Â
Since then, sheâd lost any sort of self control or dignity really, as she came up with any sort of excuse that would end up in her getting to visit his truck on a weekly basis. It was like watching a train wreck. It was tragic and painful, but you just couldnât look away. She was watching herself make a fool of herself in front of him over and over again, and yet she couldnât seem to help it. When he smiled at her, or god even worse, when he made her a sandwich with those secret magic tricks of his... she couldnât help but turn into a blushing, giggling, little girl with a crush.Â
It was humiliating.Â
And yet, she found herself, once again, heading to his usual spot on her off day for a late dinner. She probably should have worried some about how ridiculously obvious she was being, but as she stepped out of her car and was immediately greeted by his usual smirk, all ability to think rationally disappeared entirely. âFlattery when Iâm off duty isnât going to do you any good when I am on duty next week, Teddy.â she replied, stuffing her hands into the back pockets of her white shorts as she approached his truck, grinning up at him.Â
Honestly, how was a girl supposed to not drool all over him when he looked like that? With his sunglasses, and perfectly messed up hair. It was just not fair on so many levels. âBut if youâre lucky, it might just get you an extra quarter or two in the tip jar.â she teased, or at least tried to tease right back. Everybody knew she always left at least two or three dollars more than the usual customer whenever Teddy was working.
When History Comes Back to Haunt You | Addison & Jace
Jason had been crashing since 10am - fatherhood was still something he still hadnât entirely gotten used too. Back in the day he was able to stay out with his friends until the sun came up, catch an hour or two of sleep before making his way to the garage and working a full nine hour shift. Now that he had full custody of Abel, he was used to waking up at the crack of dawn and not heading to bed untilâŠwell, whenever the four year old would let him - by noon he was taking power naps in the backseat of customers cars. Despite the constant reminders from his terrible sisters, Jason Kenway was definitely not past his prime. Fatherhood was justâŠrough.
But not rough enough to keep him from heading to the bar with a few locals from the pack.
After a long day at work, the eldest of the Kenway children managed to get a sitter for Abel - that sitter being one of his sisters. Jace and company had been at the bar for nearly an hour discussing a variety of subjects from current pack issues (despite the offers, Jace still hadnât agreed to return to the pack), to the current college baseball playoffs that were taking place. Although the bar was packed nothing too exciting had happened yetâŠbut the night was still young. In fact, the group had started taking bets on who was going to start the first bar fight of the night; personally, Jason was going with the guy at the end of the bar who was currently swaying as Bon Jovi played loudly in the background.
And then out of no where, things got really interesting.
âHoly shit,â he stopped mid conversation, his green eyes suddenly locking with those of Addison Mackenzie. It was like something straight out of the movies - the pair had been sitting across the room from each other and despite the huge crowd and blaring music, they had managed to find each other. But what the hell was she doing here? The last (and first) time Jason had seen her they had met at some bar in the cityâŠwhat were the chances of them running into each other again, and in Naperville of all places? âIâll be back,â the werewolf told his friends, getting up and not bothering to answer where he was going.
Jason made his way through the crowd of people and in record time was standing at the bar beside where Mac was sitting; she actually had yet to see him. âHey,â he spoke, causing the brunette to jump slightly. He held back a chuckle. âI thought we were having a moment there,â he teased, a grin on his face and a hint of mischief in his green eyes. Of course Jason saw nothing awkward about running into a former one night standâŠeven if she had secretly been more than that to him.
She was doing her best to keep calm. She was a police officer for Christâs sake! Running into a one-night stand shouldnât freak her out as much as seeing Jace Kenway currently was. Â Her heart was hammering in her chest as she focused on her breathing. Maybe, he hadnât noticed her? Maybe the jolt of energy she had felt when she thought their eyes had locked, had simply been on her side and hadnât been anything more than an adrenaline rush from seeing him.Â
But as she reached for her glass to take another drink and realized her hands were shaking slightly, she knew it was much more than that.Â
A few moments passed and Addison started to calm down a bit, maybe it all really had been her imagination. Maybe she could slip out of the bar without further incident. And then, out of nowhere, he was beside her. Nomrally, Addison was extremely observant and even with her back turned would have been able to sense someone approaching her. But somehow, heâd managed to sneak up on her completely unawaares.Â
Jumping slightly, she sucked in a deep breath, steeling herself, before turning to face him. She hadnât known what exactly she had been expecting, but considering sheâd been the one to sneak out on him the morning after, she definitely wasnât expecting to find him grinning down at her with those gorgeous, mischievous, green eyes of his. She let out a sigh at his joke, and turned back to face her drink before glancing up at him again, âI was hoping you hadnât seen me.â she admitted with an embarrassed chuckle. âI suppose I owe you a drink for trying to avoid you, huh?â she asked, offering up a timid smile in apology.Â

OK IM BACK!!!!!! And instead of being a responsible adult and replying to all the replies I have backlogged in my drafts, like I should have... I created two new babies for yâall (yes, the team I was coordinating was from Nashville and Iâve actually started saying that word bc of them -.- ). Anyways, love them and letâs make new plots as I try to get my shit together and get caught up again!Â

OK so I owe everyone so many apologies itâs not even funny!
1st apology goes to anyone who mightâve texted me over the weekend and I didnât reply to. My phone has been all SORTS of weird and either waits a zillion hours to alert me that I have a new text or I have yet to even get them (bc apparently my friend texted me on like thursday night and i still have yet to receive her text). So UGH! thatâs annoying!!
2nd apology goes to everyone for how far behind I am on replies/starters/new characters/EVERYTHING rn! (Iâm like 9 deep right now and itâs absolutely ridiculous!) But for hte last, at least, 7 months Iâve been preparing for, coordinating and planning for this team who partners with my organization and is coming over here to see some of our projects and figure out ways we can partner in the future. Iâm literally in charge of 22 americans in a foreign country (well, to them at least) for a week and itâs FREAKING ME OUT!!!!
3rd apology is actually an apology in advance. I KNOW Iâm super way behind already, but Iâm going to continue to get behind because this team arrives tomorrow night and then a day after they arrive Iâm taking them to a really remote part of Kenya where most of our projects are and will have little to no access to internet, or if I do, it only be for work related stuff. SO! That being said, Iâm going to try to catch up some before tomorrow night, but Iâm really sorry if I donât get to all of your amazing comments!
I love you and all of our beautiful trash bbs SO much and literally canât wait for this team to leave so I can stay in bed for 3 weeks and spend some real quality time with Naperville! <333
ooc;
hola beautiful wonderful ppl who make my world go round!
just wanted to stop by to apologize for the lack of activity on my side the last few days. thursday night a friend of mine stopped by to spend the night on her way to the coast where sheâll be doing some research for her masterâs degree. long story short, by friday morning she had convinced me to go with her, for the weekend, to the beach! it was a whirlwind, super spur of the moment thing but it was SO great! anyways, iâm back now and thoroughly exhausted BUT i missed you all and our trash bbs! I plan on recovering tonight by going to bed extra early but iâll try and get caught up on everything tomorrow! love you all!!Â
twoâs company | cam & mac
âStarve,â Camila immediately answered Macâs inquiry of what she would do without her neighbor â and honestly, Cam didnât think she was tooting her own horn or even exaggerating. Cam lived by a very specific code when it came to living her life: Shoes, food, and friends. Or food, friends, and shoes. Either way, necessities such as paying her bills on time or work came dead last in the eyes of Camila. Thatâs why it was so important to keep her little workaholic neighbor fed, obviously. Cam brushed past her with a swift kiss ot the cheek as Mac let her through, and she let herself into the kitchen where she placed her retro floral tupperware set down on the counter and began to unload the contents. âYou canât live off of coffee and shakes, Addison Mackenzie,â she scolded very gently. Like a polite old grandmother. As Cam pulled out some plates and silverware, her eyes caught sight of a desk littered with paperwork and her gaze narrowed at her new friend. âYou were working, werenât you? I can smell it in the air. Donât you know what it means to take a day off??â Cam practically guided her into a seat at her kitchen table, arguments to be made about whether or not she forcible shoved her down into a seat and pushed her chair in for her as well. Cam, being as lazy as she truly was on the inside, almost always moved like that of her alter ego; stealthy and quick with purpose or as laissez faire as could be, not unlike that of a fox. She swayed around the kitchen, very much with purpose but with just as much ease before finally setting up two plates in front of the brunette and filling up a glass of ice water for her as well. And then she definitely made a face that promised that if Mac didnât pick up her fork and start eating she would probably angrily throw furniture and possibly cry. Maybe it was smart of her to be a teacher. She could be pretty forceful when she wanted to be.
She laughed as the small brunette very bluntly, but very accurately, pointed out what would happen to Addison if Cam were to disappear on her. She was right, and though Addison had a hard time ever admitting she needed people, she definitely needed Cam. It was funny how the girl had so quickly squeezed into an irreplaceable position in Addisonâs life.Â
She closed the front door and followed Cam into the kitchen, not even bothering to shake her head at how easily her companion made herself at home in someone elseâs house. Sheâd given up being surprised at that at least a week ago.Â
âI dunno about that, Iâve managed to survive on them for the last twenty-eight years.â she replied with a cheeky grin. But the grin quickly disappeared when she saw where Camâs gaze was pointed to. She had just opened her mouth to explain when Cam spoke. Addison had made the mistake of telling Cam that Wednesdays were technically considered her âday off.â The brunette had taken that very seriously and always scolded Addison for working on that precious day. But Addison was literally like a drug addict when it came to work. She couldnât stop thinking about her cases, they consumed her until she solved them. And until then, everything else came second. Even self-care.Â
âCam, you donât understand. Thereâs so much to be done right now.â Addison tried to explain as Cam forced her to sit and then placed the plate of food in front of her. âItâs like the department had done nothing before. Iâve got to start from ground 0 and until I start to make some headway, I canât stop!â she let out a sigh as Cam finally looked at her, giving her a look that told Addison trying to convince her new friend was pointless. Slowly, she turned in her seat to face her place and grudgingly picked up her fork, taking a bite. God damn it! Why did it have to taste so good?
twoâs company | cam & mac
Camila hadnât known her new neighbor for very long. She knew she was some sort of cop or a detective by the weird, often late hours she came and went and also her badge (duh). She used her very own (quite shitty) detective skills to deduct that her beautiful new neighbor was probably really badass and could kill a man with a look which Cam appreciated a lot because sometimes spiders would crawl in through her windows at night and Cam needed somebody to kill them for her and Addison looked like her new go-to (her old neighbor told her he was going to call the cops on her if she called him at 3am again â here was her chance to eliminate the middle man!) Cam also knew her new neighbor liked mint chocolate swirl shakes from Arbys â and while Cam found it very hard to resist such a delicious treat as well, this precious cupcake couldnât live on such treats foREVER!!!! She needed sustenance if she was going to be fighting crime and staying up late. (Ironically enough, she gave this same speech to her third grade art class.) She packed up her Wednesday afternoon lunch âtwo chicken enchiladas and a healthy southwestern salad recipe â slid on her new sandals, and took the short stroll to her neighborâs door and knocked three times, swaying and humming softly as she waited.Â
Addison had sort of fallen into a routine of sorts since moving to Naperville. Well, more like she took Wednesday mornings off (read: she just didnât go into the office, she still did any/all work, just from home). It was nice to have time to think about things away from the office, away from the constant surge of people coming in and out and needing her to do this and that, it enabled her to breathe and look at things (mostly just her case) from a fresh perspective.Â
Today was no different.Â
She was sitting at her desk, her paperwork and files sprawled all over the surface of the table when she heard a knock on her door. She was fairly certain she knew who was at her door before she even reached it based solely on the way they knocked and the creaking of her porch as the person swayed back and forth, but a large grin came to her lips when she opened the door anyways.Â
The detective couldnât really tell you exactly how she had befriended her quirky, but insanely lovable neighbor, but the woman had showed up at her door the day after Addison moved in with a shake from Arbyâs and the rest had been history.Â
Truth be told, Addison was grateful for Camâs friendship. While her main priority was and always would be her job, and she liked it that way, the loneliness of moving to a new town a couple weeks before her partner joined her hadnât exactly agreed with the brunette. Just because she put her job first didnât mean she was completely heartless, after all. And though sheâd never admit it, Cam had become something of a breath of fresh air for the workaholic detective in Addison.Â
âOh Cam,â she gushed with a smile as she stepped sideways to allow room for her new friend to enter her house before closing the door behind her. âWhat would I do without you?â she asked, her eyes trained on the bag that she was fairly certain contained some sort of treat. It wasnât until the thought of food was literally forced upon her, that Addison realized sheâd forgotten breakfast again and was quite famished.Â
