Well, I just quit my job...
Oh wow. Was your job really horrible? I hope you are able to find another job soon.
Honestly, it wasn't. It was more the customers that were horrible. Some guys are just total douches.

I got propositioned to become a stripper today.
So...that's a thing that happened. Jesus, I need to find a new job soon...
◊ — Liv blinked at the girl, trying to decipher just how she could be so happy, so bubbly. It was strange, and a bit overwhelming, but she didn’t not like it. It was…refreshing, and it made her wish that she could be more like that. Being like that would make Alex happy, so maybe she should start taking notes or something.
So lost in her thoughts, she zoned out a moment, not even realizing when she began to walk. “O-Oh, yes, thank you…again.” She nodded, beginning to walk along with the girl. “I’m…um, s-some of my art is being showcased there, and they wanted me to come down and look at the place before then.”
”W-Why are you going there? If…if you— I mean, it’s none of my business. I—”
Always patient, or at least she tried to be, Addison continued to smile at the girl while she went about studying her again. Addy knew she wasn't exactly what most people considered normal -- hell, half of her family thought she was weird as hell -- but this was a whole new level of marvel for Addison to experience.
As they walked, Addison pulled the sleeves of her thick sweater over her hands and hooked her thumbs into her pockets, looking at the ground as the girl spoke. "It's not a problem, darling! Always happy to help!" Turning to face her, Addison grinned. "Really? That's incredible! You must be really talented! Do you mind if I ask for you to show me? Or would you rather I wait?"
"Oh, no! Please! Feel free to ask me anything! I'm an open book!" Which, wasn't entirely true. Addison preferred to keep things to herself, but with someone so drawn into themselves, Addy was willing to make and exception. "One of my professors wanted us to go and see a show and then write about the experience. I'm actually really excited about it because I love theaters and writing is my passion, so it works out well!"
Well, I just quit my job...
What happened, love?
It wasn't exactly the healthiest of environments for me. You can only get grabbed by so many drunken douche bags before it's too much...
Well, I just quit my job...
Ohhh!
Ahhh, machigaetta. How embarrassing~!
N-No problem! I-I’m not so sweet or anything….
Yes! It is a Japanese style Maid and Butler Cafe!
-chuckles- Oh, no! Don't be embarrassed! I'm just a total weirdo! -smiles- It's really a mistake anyone would make.
Oh, stop! You are! And cute to boot!
M - maid and butler? As in, I'd be the maid?
Tomorrow is my first day at the new school,
Yeah, no, it’s gone. They told me I’d have to go and find it myself. How rude can you be. And I thought Londoners were supposed to be nice…
Seriously? Jerks. I'd be happy to help you look for it, if you were up for the effort? But seriously. I've met as many jerks here as I knew in the states, so I'm not sure where that really came from...
Is London really this freaking loud...all the time?
Ah, well thankfully I’m past the school phase. I do like writing though, so that could get in the way. Ah, you too then? I saw we riot but then again I have a feeling they wouldn’t believe a bunch of Americans. Well Addison, it’s nice to meet ya too. I’ll try to be better with names and remember, I swear. Oh, and I’m Riley.
Oh, I've got about six more years to go, so I, unfortunately, will be dealing with it for quite a while longer. You do? What do you write? I only ask because I want to teach composition and writing theory. -chuckles- Probably not, but hey! At least we'd give them as much of a headache as they give us, right? Likewise, Riley! And don't worry about it. Half the time I forget to tie my own shoelaces, so I really can't blame you.

The dresses… Honestly, I could talk about the dresses all night. Oh! And the hair, and the pearls. You and me both, mon amie. We should start our own revolution and force society back into the 20’s.
They were kind of fabulous, right? Ugh. It was just so extravagant and elaborate and I love it. If someone could teleport me into the Great Gatsby and into one of Jay Gatsby's parties, I would die of happiness. Yes! Let's do it! I'm in if you are!
Music & Lyrics || Sam & Addy
Sam arrived at The Red Couch about ten minutes earlier then when he told Addy. He always arrived early one) because he had to sign in as a participant and two) because he wanted to get to his coveted couch before any one did. Okay technically it wasn’t coveted but it was Red Couch and out of all the La-Z-Boy’s and beanbags and couches and cushions scattered about the cafe, the bright red couch centered in the middle of the place was certainly the most comfortable in his opinion.
Whilst he waited for his company to join him, he ordered himself a drink, a pumpkin spice latte to be exact, and sipped on it delicately. It was homey, Sam had always thought so, especially with the abundance of little trinkets and knickknacks and picture frames placed less than strategically about the tables. The smell of delicious baked goods, coffees, teas, cocoas, and the subtle scent of a warm heart wafting through the air only added to the ambiance.
Sam tucks his feet underneath him as he watches the employees set up the stage. Off to the side there’s a couple of guys in a circle strumming their guitars, trying to out riff the others. The chime is louder than normal, or maybe the cafe is just quieter, but the tinkling of the bells above the door catch Sam’s attention. He turns his head and smiles when he sees Addy enter the shops. Calling her name he waves her over to the couch.
Karaoke was something Addison had done a few times in college, but it had always been done with a group of her friends from work or school, never by herself, or even with just one other person. Even up in front of a large crowd, singing some crazily cheesy song, Addy had a chance to hide. Tonight, she wouldn't be able to do that, nor would she let herself. It was about time she put herself out there again. Like she'd said to Sam when she'd agreed to this, she was willing to go pretty far out of her comfort zone.
Checking her watch, Addison groaned as she stood in front of her closet -- she was going to be late if she didn't get her ass moving. But what did one wear to a poetry reading/open mic night? Dressy? Casual? Dressy casual? The life of a girl was rough. Sighing, Addison finally grabbed a pair of nice skinny jeans and a deep purple blouse, with leather shoulder patches and breast pocket adorning it. Tousling her hair quickly, Addison slipped her feet into a pair of black, suede booties and bolted out of the door.
As she walked down the street, Addison slipped her arms into the black leather jacket she's grabbed before leaving, quickly wrapping her arms around her petite frame. Fall was upon them and fallen, burnt orange leaves crunched beneath Addy's feet. A sense of calm washed over her as she walked, the brisk autumn air quelling her nerves from earlier that day.
Walking into the cafe, Addison searched for Sam before she heard her name being called out. A smile spread over her features as she spotted Sam on the cafe's namesake and waved, making her way towards him. As she walked, Addison did another quick survey, taking in the other artists dispersed among the cafe. "Sam, hi! Sorry I'm a little late! I didn't mean to keep you waiting, but I got in a fight with my closet." She chuckled, taking a seat and crossing her legs over one another. "So! Are you planning on getting up there tonight or just here to spectate?"

Well, I just quit my job...
F-Furry children?!
I’m not sure what that means, but—I hope all goes well for you!
Ah—my cafe is hiring; if maybe you want to see it?
-laughs- Oh, God! Sorry. My pets! I have two cats and a dog. I call them my furry children.
Thank you, sweetheart! It's much appreciated!
Cafe? I'd definitely be interested in checking it out! What kind of cafe is it?
Is London really this freaking loud...all the time?
Ugh…so much joy. But thanks, I think I just might. God knows I’d need them anyway…apparently I have loud neighbors as well.
Right? It's especially hellish when you're trying to study or do homework or anything that requires focus, really. Oh? Well, I know the feeling, if it helps. They seriously suck. I'm Addison, by the way.

Celebrating prohibition and indulging in all the wronged desires. Sounds beautiful, and intoxicating.
Oh, hell yeah! Not to mention feminism and flappers. The 20's were all about breaking the rules. I'm determined I was born in the wrong time period.
Well, I just quit my job...
Feeding myself and my three furry children at home should be interesting...
Finally got a new tattoo
Yeah, sure. I got flying birds at the back of my right shoulder, and I already have a few words tattooed at the back of my head and it looks like the birds are flying towards the words. It looks really cool. I would actually show you but the bandage is still on and I don’t want to take that down just yet.
That sounds awesome! And yeah, yeah! I totally understand! I'd love to see it all healed up! How many tattoos does this one make, then?
