"That was a terrible line. Ari is much better at death threats, please practice because you try that one someone else.“ Alaric said, hoping she didn’t go out shouting threats at anyone else since it could get her in trouble. Personally, Alaric found it easier to feel for her when she was being honest instead of trying to intimidate him, but it wasn’t his place to judge how she vented her anger and frustration. "You have a list of my crimes, I’m sure.” Maybe they should compare notes sometime, Alaric was sure he felt guilty about several things that Adelaide Boot wasn’t aware of. “You know, I’d offer you my arm so we could walk together, but I’m afraid you’d simply cast a severing charm.” Now where would be a good place to get her out of the public eye? A dead end? A deserted alley? He could just apparate away, of course, but venting was probably good for her.
Adelaide tensed at the mention of Ari. She loathed Alaric, but Ari terrified her as much as they turned her stomach in anger. Ari had no shame in themselves, worse even than their brother. “I don’t care about lines, Alaric!” She narrowed her eyes, fighting the blush on her cheeks. She wasn’t used to this, everything that came out of her mouth lately had been impulsive, not thought through in her mind. “I don’t need a list of your crimes. We haven’t got enough time to go through them.” She huffed, arms crossing over her chest as he walked with her. She kept pace, not finished with this “conversation” yet. Far from it. She needed to let go of some of the rage inside her chest before it cracked open and made her spill her guts. “I don’t care about walking with you. I want you to--” Her voice trailed off. What exactly did she want from him?
“I want you to own up to your cruelties!” She decided, nostrils flaring. That was pathetic, but it was a starting point if nothing else.
