     The sleigh-rides looked like a wonderful opportunity to feed the eyes with beauty. Having found a quiet moment to herself she slips away to recharge. Even Queens need to cool their social battery.

     However, when she climbs into the next sleigh she finds someone already sitting there. Gasp.

     “–Oh! I am so sorry, I did not realize this was already occupied by someone.”

               Curiosity had called upon him to investigate this so-called social gathering, skeptical of their authenticity because of the city’s sinister premise. Yet when he arrived, he found the place not unlike that of Ul’dah’s exquisite banquets. Alphinaud’s skepticism ebbed away, slowly but surely, enough to try one of these sleigh rides just outside the main hall.                To his surprise, a young woman, around his age it seemed, climbed into the sleigh with him, catching Alphinaud off guard. Yet, he was quick to regain composure, smiling gently at the other.

               “Pray, do not apologize my lady. ‘Tis sleigh can surely hold more than one occupant.” The young elezen shifted slightly to one side, giving even more room for the young woman, before introducing himself. “Alphinaud Leveilleur. ‘Twould be safe to assume then that you mayhap be out to enjoy the ride?”

They can be a cat, a lizard, even some can be arachnids. Remnant can be questionable, but I would like to believe the majority of people wouldn’t stand for it. ❞

               “’Twould appear we share a commonality in that regard. Indeed, we have a handful of races, of all shapes and sizes living together in relative serenity.” Peaceful beast tribes included. But alas, not all was well back in his home star.

               “...Unfortunately, prejudice still exists within my world. Strife amongst our people, discrimination sewn within society through the years. Some worse than others. But I share your sentiment--that the majority of our people stand for the better--despite our differences. If Ishgardians are able to go beyond their hatred of dragonkind and make peace with them, then I believe anything is possible.”

               Linkpearls were so much more convenient. Enter the rather perplexed Alphinaud, fiddling with this so called ‘cellphone’ device. A communications device, to be precise, though one of foreign make. Now, the young Scion was familiar with lost Allagan technology and how advanced they were, but he never dabbled in them. That was more of Cid’s forte. Carefully, his fingertips touched the screen, scrolling through with perhaps an overestimated amount of caution.

               “Rather intricate, aren’t you?” he commented as he curiously tapped at the screen. “Sleek, compact and easy to use, though the latter is up for debate. But if I can master the lexicon my grandfather bestowed upon me, I am quite sure I can conquer this device. Hopefully...”

   This world was different from the one she came from. There were no Titans, no Blades and no species she had seen when she was there. Each thing it had was somewhat rare for the Aegis due to be unknown. That didn’t mean it was bad, though, because she found herself curious about them. She didn’t know what was happening exactly, but she could say that it had its merits, whoever the creator was.

   ❝This place is really lively and interesting.❞ She let out her thoughts, without knowing that someone could heard them at the moment.

               Indeed, her comment was heard, picked up by the telltale pointed ears of the young elezen. An interesting observation, thought Alphinaud, though not without its flaws, as he would soon point out. “--But rather sinister, is it not?” he chimed in. “True, this world has a myriad of people, their culture and beliefs along with it. Yet the manner in which we were sent here and the entire premise of it all... ‘tis unnerving, to say the least.”

               He nodded however, in understanding. “Were it not for that, ‘twould make such a gathering on a massive scale impressive indeed. And pray, forgive the intrusion. I overheard what you said and simply couldn’t resist.”

My home star had inhabitants and creatures that spoke our tongue and then some, their appearances far from being humanoid. With how the Hive works, ‘twould be safe to assume that everyone and everything should be capable of speech of any sort, yes?”
