Moon had no reason to actually do anything with the information. He couldn’t meddle in things, that’s what his family told him. The least he could do was listen and maybe offer some insight. “That sounds like a thread. Either he has come up with an elaborate story or it is the truth. I think that you should watch very carefully, see what is going on. It will help you figure that out.”
if anything, the jingol’s frustrated pout only G R E W with the reply ; though no fault of the vendor’s, hansung was disappointed with the lack of interest. it was his boyish nature that kept him hooked on gossip for the longest time, and he wouldn’t rest until he had unraveled the lie his hyungs had so carefully woven.
“ i’ve been paying such close attention already though ! ” hansung was inconsolable, though it wasn’t his fate that rested on the news being found out. “ and someone must have said something in passing about him -- the street vendors are the best people to ask ! ”

Ready for the upcoming lesson, the faceless king could care less about his mates surrounding him, still gossiping about the banner with the message that potentially threatens his safety inside the Hwarang House. Best remain neutral about the whole matter, for he has a high suspicion that Sun Woo is putting two and two together in regards of his identity.
A certain tug on his robes shake him off his thoughts as the youngest Hwarang decides, for some strange reason, to catch his attention. Jinheung can feel the boy’s nails digging in his biceps through the fabric and he frowns, but makes no attempt to push him aside. He hasn’t been blind about the way his brother has been pushing him to improve his sword skills. Can’t be hard with him all the time.
Finally, his arm is released and with a deep sigh, the young man raises his chin slightly, hoping that the matter at hand will be quick and painless
“Borrow me. I don’t like the sound of that. What is it?”
he pouted at the seeming lack of interest, bottom lip curled over &. jutting out as he stared up at the elder ; all for show, evidently, because his expression brightened just as quick as the pout had appeared ( and in any case, hansung had been expecting ji dwi’s refusal -- he wasn’t known for his wits, but even he could tell the true bone was one who preferred to be left alone ).

without a second thought the previously unoccupied space at ji dwi’s side is taken, whether unbothered or uncaring of the older noble’s disposition left as a matter of little importance -- the overhead heat was s e a r i n g underneath the layers of robes hansung wore, and he had been kicked from the gazebo he usually inhabited on such afternoons by an exasperated ban ryu after begging one too many times for a quick lesson.
( which, with hansung’s swordsmanship skills or lack thereof, wouldn’t be an easy way to wile away the time. )
beaming the signature grin that could only mean he wanted something, tanned hands grabbed at the sleeve of jinheung’s robe -- it was only after that he remembered his place in the order of things, removing his hands with a sheepish l i g h t to his eye ( after living within seokmoon without a bone rank for so long, it was hard to return to the real world ; it was harder still to believe that his to whom had been the king had been wrong ). “ i need to borrow you for a minute ! please ? ”

What a relief it was that he understood. It was clear her vocabulary could have been better, however, she was glad that there was not a complete language barrier between them. The woman nodded her head with a smile to show she was willing to follow him. Yùlóng took note that she would have to find a way to thank him later.
“Seok… Hansung?” She did her best to repeat his name hoping that it was correct. She pointed to herself, “Yùlóng.”
“ yùlóng.” hansung tested the name, how it rolled off of his tongue with ease ( the short, sharp syllables made his pronunciation easier, for he had always struggled with drawn - out vowels ) before a broad grin crossed sun - kissed skin. he would have offered his hand for the foreigner to take, deciding against it only for the reason that the contact might be unwelcome ; there was no shortage of pushy strangers in the shopping district, especially to a jingol family heir fallen from grace.
he only hoped she could keep up once he set off.

even in his sleep - addled mind hansung knew what an honour it was supposed to be, receiving a compliment ( though it seemed the slightest patronizing ) from a higher noble -- even moreso, if he considered the noble in question was that faceless king the country had lusted after for so long. ah ro had done more than her share of keeping the poisoned jingol alive, giving news and company when she hadn’t been busy ; eventually the other hwarang he’d treasured came trickling in to visit, bearing gifts and condolences, and yet he’d not once seen either his self - appointed mentor or we hwa’s supposed nephew.
now, looking upon the hyung draped in royal robes, hansung understood w h y.
“ ji dwi - ssi ! ” it had slipped the boy’s mind to address him as anything else, sitting straighter in his cot with his back leaning against the wall in support ; his head inclined downward in the smallest bow -- all he could manage without nausea setting in and prickling under his skin, otherwise he would have stood and given a proper greeting to the king --, dog - earing his page and setting the journal to the side. “ you came ! ”

She became even more worried with Hansung’s sudden change in face color. Perhaps she had missed something and now the boy was getting sick because of it. What was it she could have failed to see? What could have caused him to become ill?

“ ani, noona ! ” hansung was quick to protest her mother henning, hastily holding up his hands in surrender as he scooted further off the bed ; socked feet hit the floor, and surely any more mention of leeches and needles would send the youngest hwarang scurrying to the door with his tail between his legs.
“ i feel fine ! i haven’t been ill since i was a young boy. ” it was a fact he boasted with pride, though its truth could be debated -- his family was poor despite their former status and, as such, medicine was hard to come by. “ i’m sure you have more important things than me ! ”

For someone who held the honor of being the last ‘True Bone’ among nobles the princess was rather disappointed in his first impression. He seemingly lacked the poise and raging egotism that resided in so many of the courtiers and their offspring. It wasn’t terrible that such things were absent, yet more so harmful to him if that lifestyle wasn’t acquired later.
Still she was left aghast by his demeanor, blinking back the shock she narrows her eyes at the restless Hwarang and begins to speak,
“Have you seen your Chief recently? He’s not hiding in his office nor is he stalking the grounds per usual. —- I find it rather odd.”
hansung took a moment to consider her query, head bowed ; enough that carefully - shaped eyebrows were hid behind strands of hair that had fallen from its tight bun, yet held high enough that he could see clearly the unadulterated shock that left her eyes w i d e.
the hems of his robes crumpled amongst the dirt as he knelt to pick up his discarded book, tucking it safely into his satchel amongst his arsenal of brushes before he replied ( harabeoji would have his head if he lost another one to carelessness -- or rather, dan se’s -- and he didn’t want to think about the consequences that came with it ).
“ i haven’t, actually. ” now that he truly thought about it, the disappearance of we hwa was unusual ; the elder was usually everywhere, knowing exactly the perfect moment to turn up and dole out punishment to the misbehaving party -- usually, he mused to himself, the hyungs he so favoured. “ i can help you find him, if your highness wishes it ? ”

Yùlóng took notice of how he seemed to light up at her reply, the boyish smile was contagious causing the woman’s own lips to slightly curve upwards. To her surprise he other continued to speak to her, and luckily for the dragon she understood a few select words. Able to piece them together she got what he was asking her. Yùlóng let out a hum as she racked her brain for the right words.
“come alone,” she began, then gestured to herself and mimicked the motions of playing an instrument, “play entertainment… um, music? for queen.”
the importance of hand gestures wasn’t lost on hansung -- in any case he relied more on using his hands to speak more than his words. grand gestures as he retold a story weren’t uncommon for the seok heir, and he used them so again to explain more clearly than what his words could.
“ i can take you ? ” first gesturing to himself &&. the stranger, then sweeping his arm in a grand arc to point at ( where he thought, for he had never been to it himself ) the palace ; his free hand rested over his chest, enunciating slowly, for he was never one to pass up an opportunity for companionship. “ seok hansung. your name is ? ”

The doctor’s eyebrows furrowed in worry for the young Hwarang. Surely his ailments would’ve alleviated by now– Unless, maybe, she had done something wrong? Thin lips pursed in fret before she spoke once more.
“I once heard of someone using leeches to get rid of the bad blood in their arm, after that they felt just fine. Maybe that would help you more than my needles.”
“ leeches ? ”
the blood d r a i n e d from his face, and no leech was at fault ; suddenly, as if cured only by the thought of treatment, hansung went back on his earlier complaints ( it was again at this moment that he questioned if faking illness was worth being poked and prodded -- needles were enough to send him away, and leeches crossed the line. he could live without ).
“ maybe i’m only overreacting ! time on bed rest and some stretching will make it better, i’m sure ! i wouldn’t want to trouble you for too long. ”

Moon truly didn’t understand what the curiosity was about when it came to what the other was saying. He never really meddled in affairs of the royal family ( that was his brother’s job ) and kept to his little store. He heard stories, often traded things with a story behind them. He enjoys a good woven tale, but this is one that’s going on. It made a good plot for a story. “Perhaps. Is that all he has said? Give me details and I will give you something I got just recently.”
it seemed that hansung had forgotten that whatever happened in seokmoon, stayed in seokmoon -- but really, what further harm could it cause ? the people had already heard of what happened in baekje between sun woo and the crown prince, though he was always ready to relay the story he’d been told.
“ it’s what everyone is saying, ” he acquiesced, mulling over what had been rumoured. “ and even ji dwi - hyung said that sun woo - hyung said he was the king ! but miss ah ro’s abeoji was never a sacred bone and her eomma was a servant, so sun woo - hyung can’t be either. ” hansung was pouting, he knew, but he was unable to help it ; he enjoyed gossip, but even this baffled him to no end. “ so he must be lying about being the king, or about being ah ro - noona’s brother. and i can’t figure out which ! ”

“ but do you not think that it’s strange ? ” hansung was persistent, the matched bracelets he’d been considering ( because, even though his harabeoji had told him it was inappropriate for men to buy each other jewellery, dan se deserved to get more than just a half - hearted birthday wish ) forgotten in favour of gossip ; he rested his chin in his hands, leaning his elbows on the wooden countertop. “ sun woo - hyung says he’s the king, but he also says that ah ro - noona is his sister ! aren’t you at least a little curious which is true ? ”

Yùlóng had a habit of wandering aimlessly, often finding herself in places she had never been before. However, she remembered coming here with Xiáng a long time ago; while he was still young. She was always fascinated by how vast the land beneath the clouds truly was. Perhaps that was why the dragon was always restless, finding it next to impossible to stay in one place for too long. It also did the being no favors that her curiosity was insatiable. Caught up in her own thoughts Yùlóng had not notice the other approach her until he spoke.
“Huh?” neat brows pulled together in confusion as she turned, blue gaze meeting brown. It took her a moment to process what had been said, which in turn caused her to glancing at their surroundings. The woman concluded her feet had managed to carry her off somewhere unfamiliar.
“ That is possibility…” came her broken reply, though she did not seem too worried about the realization.
a boxy grin found its way upon the boy’s tanned face, promising only that he wanted to help ( it also didn’t help matters that he had been right about her -- the heir had only met people from his province, and the excitement of meeting someone foreign was catching up &&. bubbling away ). hansung remained at arms length, brows creased as he focused on forming a basic, coherent sentence that he could reply with ; worrying his plush lower lip between his teeth, he then spoke slowly ;
“ are you here with someone ? ” though unsure of how much she understood he carried on, careful to enunciate &&. separate the usual flow his words came as. “ foreign envoy ? meeting with the queen ? ”
