so. i just learned that my entirely me-written resume flags as being AI-written by automated HR systems for a few writing quirks and the fact that i followed all the rules of good resume writing, which is apparently a telltale sign of AI use in this fucking hellworld. i've been desperately applying to jobs that i am massively overqualified for for months with no response, not even an interview, and now i find out that at least part of the reason is because some fucking moron decided that following the rules every career advisor has given me for a decade means i cheated and should be disqualified. the ai bubble cannot pop soon enough. what the actual fuck.

Went to a reptile meetup today at a local mall where there were plenty of big snakes and iguanas and other big intimidating reptiles and this girl was just watching the whole thing in silence with her hands closed up (as if she’s holding something) then one of the hosts saw her and pointed at her asking her if she had any reptiles, so she just quietly looked down at her hands and opened them up and there was the smallest most adorable yet ugly little baby leopard gecko just one McDonald’s sauce big everyone (and I mean everyone) erupted in awwwwwwwsss

I think ultimately the thing that frustrates me the more I read Werewolf the Apocalypse is that it assumes the world is doomed. The earth is dying and nothing can stop it. Humans are a blight and need to be culled.

But that's a lie, that lie only sells more for the big corporations. It's never too late. Things can always improve. Humans are a part of the environment.

Then again White Wolf is now a decently large company so...

that’s was the message in older editions and the intro comic of 20th made it clear that the world is still worth fighting for and that the fight to prevent the apocalypse is very much possiblr

but they changed it in 5th edtion cause they wanted to throw the gouro down at their lowest. But fucking failed to do so specturally

their is an actual line in the Werewolf5th core book saying “ not all cropations are evil” That is how low we are going.

W20 still has the issue of "humans are evil!!!" But it was noticeably better on the hope front. W5 threw that out the window with gaia being dead.

The corporations thing is especially frustrating because that was the one aspect in universe that was interesting and nuanced- like yeah Pentex is evil but the average Pentex employee is just a guy so going to their offices and committing murder like the garou loved to do was wrong! Creating a difficult quandary for the supposed warriors of Gaia.

Werewolf has always had the most problems, even W20 had issues, so it doesn't surprise me.

theres definitely a line of thought ive noticed in liberal circles and in media and stuff where they think that bad stuff works and is true but is just bad for some moral reason.

but the thing is that this stuff is just factually wrong. eugenics doesnt work. race science isnt true. theyre morally wrong, yes, but theyre also factually incorrect, ideas that are deployed in service of monstrous ideology despite the fact that they simply arent true.

and its a major impediment to effectively combating these ideas, because if you concede their premises, you have already given ground to your enemies.
