YA Lit Meme: [3/7] Friendships » “The F-up Five” First Gen (Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta)
“Who are they?” the Cadet sitting next to him asked. Jude looked at Webb’s face, the grin stretching from ear to ear. “They’re my best friends. I’m going to know them until the day I die.”

The cover of Winter by Marrisa Meyer.
It’s real. Hot off the press, the first UK proof of The Rest Of Us Just Live Here, out in hardback 27 August. The U.S. version has a different (and fab) cover and is out in October.
I am flooded with thousands upon thousands of memories that contain Loren Hale. In each one, some part of our bodies touch. Our hands. Our legs. Our hearts. Subconsciously, he guides me to the rooftop where he waits.
lily and loren from addicted after all by krista & becca ritchie.
I spent my Sunday afternoon in my favourite bookstore and brought back one of the prettiest book hauls so far.
Give Me My Sin Again, a playlist in for Leisa Rayven's contemporary New Adult romance Bad Romeo.
You terrify me. But not enough to make me think you won't be worth it.
~
Animal Love I ~ Charlene Kaye I fully know this is dangerous / But I've never been too good at control / 'Cause when I look at you, baby / It's like looking straight into the sun
Treacherous ~ Taylor Swift I'll do anything you say / If you say it with your hands / And I'd be smart to walk away / but you're quicksand // This slope is treacherous / this path is reckless / this slope is treacherous / and I, I, I like it
Fools ~ Lauren Aquilina I want you more than I've wanted anyone / Isn't that dangerous? / The anticipation before the kiss / Mirrored in my shaking lips / Oh god I feel so unprepared / The two of us are out of place / My feelings written on my face / Got what I want but now I'm scared
Flaws and Ceilings ~ Frank Hamilton with Lauren Aquilina I wonder what he's thinking when he lies in bed / 'Cause when I wake up he's in my head / And I'm thinking in a few years' time / Will I still be yours? / Will you still be mine? / But we can't build our walls / Unless you knock down yours / So let me in
Romeo Must Die ~ Gabrielle Aplin You and I are passed our dancing days / I said it's not your fault, I lied / I don't have time to watch you cry / And I'm thinking Romeo must die // Did you think I wouldn't notice? / As if I wouldn't pass an eye / Did you think that you could hide it? / All of your violent delights
I Almost Do ~ Taylor Swift Oh we made quite a mess, babe / It's probably better off this way / And I confess, babe / In my dreams you're touching my face / And asking me if I wanna try again with you / And I almost do
If I Could Change Your Mind ~ Lydia Cole If I could change your mind / I would hit the ground running / It took time to realise / And I never saw it coming / Forgive my lying eyes / Gonna give you all or nothing / If I could change your mind / I could make you mind, make you mind
Romeo and Juliet ~ Lisa Mitchell 'You shouldn't come around here, singing up to people like that / And anyway, what you gonna do about it?' // Juliet, the dice were loaded from the start / And I bet that you explored in my heart / And there's a place for us / you know the movie song / When you gonna realise that it was just that the time was wrong

Hey gang, I’ve almost finished the Addicted series and I’ve discovered that maybe new adult is a genre I want to check out a bit more intentionally...
I’ve got one NA book to add, which is Holier than Thou by Laura Buzo
I’ve actually read this one! I actually reviewed it here, and I second this recommendation. I picked it up to reread just the other day. I first read it about eighteen month ago, when I was 21 and nearing the end of my first degree, secure in the expectation of going on to postgraduate study (read: not needing to worry about facing the real world just yet). It’s funny, reading it now that I’m closer to Holly’s age and situation, it hit much closer to home (and I only read a couple of chapters). You know what they say about going back to reread a book and learning how you’ve changed? It was a bit like that. Maybe I’m closer to the model New Adult reader now that I’m approaching the end of my postgraduate degree and actually have to start thinking about job hunting.
oh wow! its just one of those books i assume no one else hs read :p did you ever read her other book Good Oil? i really enjoyed it, though its definitely not NA.
No, I wanted to after I like Holier Than Thou but I put it off because isn't it about a romance between a teenager and a guy several years older than her? I wasn't sure about that... Worth checking out?

Thanks lovelies,

SOPHIE BABE I read practically no NA but Addicted series this year I just realized that lol but anyway
maybe check out Colleen Hoover? I really enjoyed Slammed and Hopeless.
Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A Tucker (the companion novels suck tho)
& of course; Amour Amour by the twins.
Cora Carmack’s Losing It series is pretty nice. The first book is just meh okay for me but the following books in the series are gr9 (my fav is the third book)
& Christina Lauren’s Wild Seasons series (I think it’s bordering Adult tho; meh I’m not good with genres)
Jumping in with a few more NA suggestions:
Sophie Jordan’s Ivy Chronicles Series (there are 3 - Foreplay, Tease, and Wild). I’ve only read the first one, but it was pretty good.
Wait for You by J. Lynn - (this is Jennifer L. Armentrout writing as J. Lynn)
Easy by Tammara Webber - This is one of the first NA books I read and I remember really enjoying it.
Thank you! I do hear about Easy a lot. I think I read it but I don't really remember it, so I might give it another go.
