The massive expanses of blinding white, the majestic, soft plumes of gold, the way Arioch's fingers brushed over the feathers, the kiss they'd share when they were alone, like the softest secret in the Above. He'd had Ari, and Ari'd had him. They'd had each other.
But Arioch betrayed him; unfailingly loyal to his parents and to The Heavenly Father. It hurt when he learned that his lover was the one who helped cast him down from the Above.
It hurt.
