okay not to ocpost again but the worst thing about having an oc is sometimes they become The Character to you. and you need to talk to someone about it like wow I can’t stop thinking about The Character… but in order to do so you have to like sit them down and explain everything about your oc first. and then it’s just you explaining your writing ideas. i need to talk about them the same way i would talk about any random character i love to someone.

updated successor gameplay roles:

hayleigh: on-field dps

liorit: speed-focused support

brutus: brute force tank

watchmaker: targeted healer

lian: ranged backline sub-dps

nadia: movement-heavy frontline sub-dps

zeina: flighty debuff/nullification support

liber: aoe healer

zero: distraction support/sub-dps depending on how they're played

romeo: tanky shredder dps

dominic: fast on-field dps you're meant to play up close and personal

celine: glass cannon

since adminverse is a rougelike, i've been considering different gameplay elements to keep things interesting. my current idea is that every 5 floors/levels/whatever you go through, there is an option for one party member to activate a temporary buff for the team. for example: watchmaker increases healing; dominic makes damage and speed increase linearly; romeo increases crit probability cuz she's a shredder dps...? unsure about specifics atm but it's an idea!

i find hayleigh not thinking brutus is intimidating really really interesting. it's not because she doubts his ability like lian does, or because she finds him reckless & foolish like watchmaker does, she just… knows he cant really hold power over her. she firmly views them (as well as all the other successors) as equals, and that's why he can't truly pressure her into doing what he wants.

nearly everything about brutus' character comes back to toxic masculinity, in all honesty. and in this case, the fact that none of the successors allow brutus to assert true dominance over them wounds his masculinity badly, even before he finds out what doombringer was doing with telamon.

romeo is literally so polite but he's nerfed by the fact that he was never supposed to exist as a human person or know how to smile/cry/express emotion period. for a long time he just Lets people dehumanize him or view him as being the exact same as (or literally just Being) 1x1x1x1 because he doesn't know how to assert his personhood. this is what he fights for now, when his creator is gone and he truly has reason to prove himself as more than just its creation

used to think it terribly silly (and kinda funny) when fantasy or sci-fi stories would have people refer to major recent historical events as The Flood or The Incident or The Revolution, and im sure historians fucking hate that because it's not helpful or descriptive, but we sure do be calling it The Pandemic
