‘ You start at the very beginning. Becoming a photographer for a newspaper is actually a hard career. You need to build a portfolio and people need to want only you for their shots. But I know you are talented and I think you would be a great photographer. So perhaps aunt Phoebe can help you get in contact with Elise for a job at the newspaper. ’ Paige spoke. ‘ Or you could indeed help around your mother’s restaurant. Or get another job as a waitress. Or become a pizza delivery kind of girl. The sky is the limit sweetie. Except for dangerous things. Your parents would not be into that.’

THE BABY SISTER, PAIGE:

By hurting her younger sister she wouldn’t get any further. A deep sigh escaped her lips as she moved up the second she orbed away. ‘’Paige!’’ it took her a few seconds to realize where Paige went – after all, Paige was just trying to help. It wasn’t hard to figure out she went to the attic – she just hoped she was right and able to apologize properly. As the middle sister arrived at the attic she flashed her a apologetic smile. ‘’I shouldn’t have said that, it’s not fair. I’m sorry. And you’re right, you know loss just like the rest of us and I know it wasn’t easy for you. I’m sure you and Prue would have loved one another if gotten the chance to meet.’’

Paige was flipping through the book like a maniac. When Phoebe entered the same room a loud sigh escaped from her lips and without looking up from her family heritage she spoke ‘ Not now Phoebe. I am busy. ’ Although Paige realized she was being hard on her older sister right now, she didn’t want to talk. But she should have known that wouldn’t stop the other witch from talking. The younger woman looked up and listened to the apologize and Paige knew she could not stay mad much longer. They had to find Piper first and be angry at each other later. The burden that comes with the Power of Three is to actually be close to your siblings. Turning on each other could cost them all their lives. But Paige also understood Phoebe’s pain. They had lost their sister about a year ago and Paige had been dealing with the death of her adoptive parents for a much longer time. Which didn’t mean she missed them less or was less affected by their deaths, she just had been able to give it a place. Something she would not have been able to do without the help of her sisters. ‘ Thanks for understanding Phoebe. I do think I would love Prue just as much as I love you and Piper. I’m sure we will be able to summon her in the future and I can meet her as well. But first we have to find Piper.’

Paige heard a voice. One she did not recognize. Which wasn’t unusual since Magic School was taken over by demons. Paige wasn’t even supposed to be here, but she needed books. Wyatt was in danger and they needed to understand why and keep the threat away from him. Her brother-in-law remembered a book from Magic School retaining more information about these demons. Yet Paige didn’t believe this voice was from a demon. It sounded too scared and insecure. The witch opened the large doors and saw a young girl standing in the hallway. ‘ What are you doing out here? Quick before they see you. ’ Paige quietly shut the door and looked at the brunette, who vaguely reminded her of someone. ‘Who are you?’

Tam grinned. As much as she loved her brother and sister, it was nice to actually be able to have her mom to herself. Even if it was only an hour. She almost never got to hang out with her on her own, and she planned to capitalize on every opportunity.

“Hmmm, well I’ve probably had enough coffee to give me a heart attack,” she said jokingly. Well, mostly jokingly. She’d had five cups and her hands were shaking a little, but in her defense there had been a lot of studying to do before the cute boy had come and spilled water all over her notes.

“How about an early dinner? We can bring some back for Dad and Junior and they won’t even complain that we ate without them. I’m pretty sure Kat has other plans anyway.”

‘ Early dinner is perfect. ’ Paige answered. ‘ As long as we are back before the game begins and your father and brother have food. ’ It was one of those weird habits the man in her life had, but they always needed food when watching a football game on their weekly father-son bonding moment. ‘ So what is up with Kat? You must tell me everything about that.’ She asked. Although she respected her children’s private life, she was always curious. But well, could you blame her?

‘ So where do you want to go? We can go to Piper’s or Quake is around the corner. Or we can go to china town and get some chinese. Whatever you want sweetheart ’

‘I know, I know. I don’t want her to find out. Especially if I get into a bad wreck. I don’t want her to get that call.” She wanted to quit racing, really she did. But she loved the thrill it brought. She wasn’t that popular in school so she didn’t have many friends. Racing was something that made her feel free. She did take her parents into consideration. But if she wanted to have money to start up her own shop, this was the way to go.

Paige couldn’t help but smile, but she was still worried about her niece. ‘ Well you have to promise me your mother will never get that call. ’ She said once her smile faded of her face. ‘ She won’t survive it and neither will I. Besides I know all about weird jobs, been there done that. Perhaps you want to try having a normal job. You might be surprised how supernatural that could be.’

She HAS to be. ‘’You don’t understand, you haven’t been with us for that long yet. I can’t lose ANOTHER sister Paige. You have no idea how that feels!’’ snapping at her younger sister wasn’t something she was proud of, and she regretted the words right after they left her lips. It was unfair, she knew. ‘’Paige I-‘’

‘ No I don’t know what it is like to lose a SISTER. But I do know what it’s like to lose the people you love most. And I know I wasn’t around yet when Prue was alive, but she was my sister too. And I am not ready to lose another one. ’ Paige said, but it was very clear she was hurt by Phoebe’s words. Although she knew what Phoebe meant, it still felt like a stab in her back. Without another word the younger witch orbed upstairs to the attic and started flipping through the book while trying to hold in the tears.

A memory flashed in his mind, and his stare turned blank for a second, but he brushed it over quickly and regained focus on the issue at hand.

Paige’s question, however, managed to catch him off guard for a split of second. Chris tensed for a short moment, blinking a few times. He knew a question like this would happen sooner or later, but he had hoped it wouldn’t be so soon. Shrugging lightly, he sent her a short glance. ❛ You know I can’t tell you anything about the future, RIGHT ? Even the smallest knowledge can have disastrous consequences. ❜

Paige sighed at his answer, which seemed to be his standard answer about anything involving the future. He would only share information when he wanted to and at this point the witchlighter was very annoyed. She also noticed the change in his behavior and concluded she must be on the right track. Future boy was hiding something. ‘ Isn’t it why you came back here? To change the future? I know, Chris, about future consequences and all, I really do but you can not keep repeating that same answer. I know you are hiding something. ’ Paige stated and didn’t pay any attention anymore at the potion they were talking about before.
