Hearing Adrian admit that she was right was something that never got old for her, it’s not like he always said it to her for her ego because half the time she was in the wrong and Sabrina was aware of that. But when it counted it was nice to have him see her efforts, the softest of smiles spread across her features as she nodded over at him. “It’s really not but I know you just wanted a distraction in the event it got too much. So an A+ for trying.” She teased trying to lighten the mood. She couldn’t blame him for not seeing sleep as something he could do right now. Let alone want to do with everything that was swimming around in his head of things he had to get done. She had been in a similar state the night her father was officially sentenced to jail, but Adrian had been her voice of reason that eventually convinced her that she had to take care of herself first if she wanted to succeed in whatever half baked plan she had intended on completely. That memory and support he had shown to her through her darkest times had been the reason why she had fallen for him completely. It was the kind of love that people could only hope to have at least once in their lives. “I know, but I’m just advising you like a very, very wise person did for me a long time ago. Because when I actually listened to him I think I had one of the best sleeps in my life, just saying. Maybe I should call him for you, I’m sure he wouldn’t mind making a house call he loves to talk and talk. It’s no wonder he’s that obsessed with his own voice that he made a career out of arguing with people.” She continued to tease him in hopes of getting him to smile a little. Her hand absentmindedly reaching over to cup the left side of his face lightly, the pad of her thumb grazing over the apple of his cheek. “Yeah, you’ll be okay.” Her hand drawing back from his face as she dipped into her bag to fish out her wallet.” Hmm, fancy side of town. That’s good, it’s probably not that far from here then I assume?” She asked, waving the bartender over to tend to their bill. She paid for his tab before he could protest and turned back to face Adrian when it was all covered. “ Do I have to walk you home? Because I can if you want.” She offered not really sure what to expect now from him but she was hopeful that maybe he’d like to have her company a little while longer. Even if it was just walking in silence.
“Yeah.” He snorted, agreeing with her once more. It was useless to try and say something otherwise, or try to make her see things the way he wanted them to be seen. She was correct in some way, today was just too much for him to handle, but that was probably not the only reason why he decided to look for a gateway. Either way, he was glad he did. As she mentioned something that happened years ago, Adrian remembered it like it was today. The way she got when the news of her father broke, how he was there by her side and was actually able to calm her down. Even how that particular event brought them closer, more in love than they had been before. And that made him wonder if events would repeat itself or not. When she quoted him and the things he used to do, all Adrian was left to do was laugh at the situation and how she brought it up. She was right in some ways after all. “Maybe you should call him, because I probably need someone like that right now.” He shrugged. The simple, tender and caring gesture was something he wasn’t expecting in that particular moment. The whole ordeal getting him by surprise making him freeze on his spot as his eyes locked on hers, again. Her hand against his cheek felt warm, welcoming, comforting, and the words that were left from her mouth really felt like true. So comforting that when she pulled back he instantly missed it. Adrian wasn’t fast enough and before he knew, she was paying for their tabs, but he was simply too tired to argue. Sleep deprave, a little too boozed and missing too many things as he was in that particular moment, he didn’t have in him what was needed for creating an argument. He would let her have that one, at least that time. “Hmmm you can come if you want. I probably shouldn’t be on my own tonight. Who knows, which bar I might end up at after we part ways.” He joked, not being too serious of that fact.
viviennegardner:
“Don’t have a reason to make one about you yet, but I’ll probably will at one time. You being cute is on the pro side, don’t worry.” she joked. “I promise I won’t stay too long.”
“No reason? I don’t know if I should be upset or not about that fact. I am confused and the fault is all yours!! At least I have a pro side, so not all things are lost.” He chuckled. “No biggie, come on. You can stay for as long as you need, ok?”
sabrinacarlyle:
It was killing her that this was the circumstance that had brought them together but she really was glad that she had decided to come in tonight and mend the small bridge they had between them after she had blown it a few days ago. The more he let go of his bottled up emotions the harder she dug deep inside of her to keep it together for him and just be there. He was her guy and always will be. All of this just reassured her that the feelings she had for him never left and were still as strong as ever. The feeling of him starting to pull away from her brought her out of her nostalgia only to replace it with that void she’d been carrying around again. She was already missing him and wanted to move back into his arms again to erase the void again. But she had to accept that she didn’t have the luxury anymore and it was just luck that she had managed to get a moment with Adrian again. She gave him her best smile as she let him have his moment to gather himself again. Her hand quickly spot checking her own cheek to make sure he wouldn’t notice her minor break not that she really cared if he had but she didn’t want to make it about her and her feelings. She cleared her own throat and nodded over at him. “Course. I’m always going to be here for you to talk or whatever you need. We have too much history to not be able to do that for each other.” She said her gaze on him for a moment before trailing over to the paperwork behind her. “You should probably pack this all up, get some sleep. Maybe even eat?” Sabrina suggested bringing her gaze back to him. “You had a long day. Where are you staying?” She asked, still really concerned about him her gaze not leaving him.
Adrian was glad to have Sabrina with him on that particular moment, but at the same time hated the things her presence being there brought back. Being in her arms only made him realize how much he missed it. Bella had her own particular way of treating him and none of it compared to what Sabrina could do or even bring to him. What he and Sabrina had was true love and that was proven in every single little moment shared. He was silently thankful for her giving him the space he needed to compose himself back once more. The last thing he needed was to start a scene in public like that. The mention of their past and history only brought back that feeling deep in his stomach of all the things they shared, had and could have if this was completely different. Too much history indeed, so much more than many different people in his life. “Yeah. You are right.” He nodded, quietly, his gaze moving to the pile of paperwork around him. “This is probably the last place I should be looking at this all, isn’t it?” He snorted, head shaking as he looked at her. “I don’t think sleep is something I’ll be doing soon. I’ll be okay.” His gaze still fixed on her, eyes locked like in the past. “I rented an apartment in the north side. It’s...closer to everything.”
viv--oliveyay:
“Usually I would mind, but you’re doin’ me a favor so I guess you can know I’m from Georgia, darlin’,” Viv explained, drawing on the overly exaggerated drawl that she used whenever it suited her. Wisteria was an odd destination for her, but she had her reasons. Breaking the routine, she laughed and shook her head at the idea that he’d get in trouble. “You’re fine, I’m not setting you up for trouble. If Gary Grabass over there tries again then I might ask you to kiss me—or let me kiss you, but I’m not asking you up to take a fall for anything.”
“Come on, if we are about to join each other in this adventure, we might as well get to know little facts.” He shrugged, offering her a small smile. “Why Wisteria of all places?” He questioned, trying to make some sort of conversation with her. “Oh, I might get myself in trouble for reasons completely not related to this. But okay, if he end up causing some sort of trouble, we embark in that adventure together.” He nodded.
sabrinacarlyle:
“Maybe.” She said not truly confident in herself to make something out of her life. She was young but only for so long could she use that asa motivator to push her along. She really needed to find herself and reel in that passion that once burned so brightly for her. The girl she used to be seemed so out of reach for her but she had decided that it was worth trying to fight for that version of herself again. In the back of her mind though was this sense she wouldn’t get anywhere near that goal without Adrian. He made her a better person and even though he hadn’t said he had someone else she could feel it. There was no way that someone hadn’t found out how special he truly was let alone pass him up like Sabrina had five years ago. It warmed her heart that he had okayed her visit to his grandmother’s gravesite. She hadn’t meant to trigger his emotions the way she had with her consoling, she was speaking from the heart and wanted to give him the support he deserved. They had been through a lot together phases of good, bad, sad, and ugly times and even with the distance and lack of communication she promised herself that she would always be available to him if he ever just needed someone to listen. She felt guilty but she knew he needed a safe space to just let go of everything he was feeling so she continued to soothe him, feeling the warm tears of his trickle along her skin. “It’s going to be okay. I got you.” She reassured softly, holding him closer to her body as she kept quiet letting him have his moment. A single tear rolling down her own cheek feeling for him and wanting nothing more but peace for him.
Adrian hated the fact that all it took was to be in her presence, be in Sabrina’s embrace to let everything he was truly feeling come crashing down. The blonde always had that effect on him, she was always able to make him show his true emotions, his real self and even after all those years, that fact hand’t changed. The way she soothed his feelings, kept her hold on him allowed him to simply let go. For him to feel as comfortable, welcomed as he could. So he did, he relaxed in her embrace, letting her calm him down while their emotions mixed together for a brief moment before slowly pulling back. Adrian knew that if he continued where he was it would be completely difficult, if not impossible to let go or even not allow feelings and memories from the past come barging on them. Clearing his throat, he wiped his eyes while not looking at Sabrina, before taking a sip of his drink to try and compose himself. “Thanks for....you know...” He quietly said, before looking at her and offering a small, sad smile. They used to share so much with simple gestures, looks and silence and he hoped it all continued the exact same even after everything.
viviennegardner:
“Lists are there to prepare you what’s next so they’ll help me with that.” she made a serious face as he basically insulted her lists. “You know what… I’d actually like to take your offer and live with you for a couple of days.”
“Okay, fine. I won’t be a dick about your lists. Carry on making them, just make the one about me pretty nice. Deal?” Adrian said, offering her a soft smile. “Yeah? I am glad to hear it. Welcome to my crib?”
marcusmillstone:
“Aaron Keller is like his father. His father being a powerful man with mafia styles for getting problems fixed taught that ass how to cover himself. History just repeats itself with generations and I’m positive you know about the funding that goes undetected between these two families? If not, there’s my favorite one about Ellie’s dad having to bail Aaron’s sister out of some prostitution ring. She liked to call it her escort business but that wasn’t the real deal. Ellie just knew way too much about everyone. She had enough dirt to get anyone she wanted in trouble.” Marcus said. “I remember she scared the crap out of her boyfriend’s sister with all a false story about her once. I personally like Sabrina but she was gullible and too easy of a target for Ellie to not mess with.” He yammered on. “New York is home now? I like it there, Ellie took me once. We did a day in Central Park on horse carriage. It was horrible sitting there with the poop stench but she had fun. it was a good day. I’m just trying to be the person Ellie wanted don’t really have anything in mind for the time being.”
“Really? I had no idea about that...” Adrian nodded, listening to everything the male was telling him, paying attention to all the details so he could work all of them in his case, or at least, find any good reason to have it help him out where he needed to. “So you think the Keller’s might have something involved in it? That is one big accusation to be making.” Adrian mentioned, wondering if there was much more to it than he was telling. At the mention of Sabrina, Adrian’s interest peeked up, knowing that if his ex-girlfriend had something to do with this whole story, things would become a lot more complicated then they already are. “What kind of story?” He frowned, leaning a little forward to hear more about it. “Yeah, it is home now. It’s been for awhile. I really like it there. Oh so you two did a whole romantic thing? Nice, that is really nice, man! It is never too tired to start over again, reinvent yourself. Take this as an opportunity to start over. A second chance if you believe in the whole cliche thing.”
liv-fisher:
“Ehm, I own an online jewelry shop, so if I’m not sending out orders with my small team, I work part time at the diner.” Olivia smiled then moved a bit in her seat when she was told he was a lawyer for a case. Her suspcions grew a tiny bit could it be that he was working on the Ellie case, Olivia figured it would be best to just ask. And if he was working for it she knew she needed to be careful what she says, the last thing she wants is to put herself or her friends in more trouble. “Ah and for what case if you don’t mind me asking.?” She blurted out.
“Really? That is actually pretty cool. What is the name of it? I might check it out when I need to buy something. The fact that you are always busy with it is a good thing, though. Means what you are selling is pretty good! So, kudos for you.” Adrian nodded. He knew the mention of his profession and the potential reason of his visit to the town would cause some sort of discomfort in those habitants of Wisteria, something he absolutely didn’t need at all right now. “Just some family feud of sorts. I mostly only used the case as an opportunity to come and take care of a few family business of my own that were left unsolved. I pretty much joined work with private life in this whole thing.” He shrugged.
liv-fisher:
“It was a really cute movie, I’m a Disney lover so high or not high I will love it more than most movies. But yes I will need to watch it soon I never have time to relax since I’m busy with work.” She explained then nodded at his words. “Well that’s true family is family, love them or hate them they’re the ones who will always stand by you no matter what. But we don’t have to talk about that, what was your job offer?”
“Disney is childhood. Even I that probably should be all about not Disney movies actually like them. Their movies are getting better and better with the time, there is no way to be a hater. Yeah? And what is it that you do that keep you so busy with life?” He wondered, trying to get to know her a bit more. “Thanks. I am a lawyer and got offered to work on a case. The law firm I work at in New York got the case and they offered it to me, so I took it and now here I am. That is pretty much it.”
sabrinacarlyle:
A coy smile appeared on her face as she watched him nervously tip toe around the unknown. He was right though because life really did have it’s own agenda and she hadn’t found a way to make it work for herself after all the hiccups she had made for herself. “True, I did have higher goals for myself but I lost hindsight and well I’ve under goals in mind now. Adulting instead of dreaming mostly. But things are okay with me, not perfect but I’m alive even with the curse my last name bears in this town.” She sighed out not really sure if her response to his questioning would be enough but it would have to do for now. The news of the service actually being today saddened her more because she knew he had probably been there pretty much alone outside of the few friends his grandmother had made over the years. The composure he had to portray at the service probably weighed heavy on him and she knew that if she were in his shoes she’d be absolute mess. He had always been the stronger one emotionally and she had admired that about him. Always eloquent and fearless in the face of misery. “I really wish I would’ve known it was today. I would have loved to pay my respects to her but if it’s alright with you, do you think I could bring a bouquet around sometime?” She asked finally breaking her silence once she felt the warmth of his arms holding her back. The way he relaxed into her petite frame felt like she had retrieved a piece of herself that she been without since they went their separate ways. She missed feeling complete. She had missed him more though. Her hand continuing to soothe his lower back as she whispered to him. “Yeah, good thing you’re a lawyer so you can handle this. Always one step ahead.” Sabrina joked back. “She’s proud of you, I know you don’t need me to tell you that because it was obvious but I’m proud of you too. She did good with you and you’re going to be just fine thanks to her.”
To see Sabrina in this situation knowing very well she could be a much better person upset him. Even if they were no longer together and she decided to take a very different path than his, he always wished her the best and that she, somehow, had managed to find her own happiness. But maybe that wasn’t the case and she was now stuck in their old hometown. “You are still young. A lot of things can happen and you can surprise yourself in the end. I don’t know.” He shrugged. “I am glad you are okay and that is a pretty good reason why you definitely need and should’ve left this town. You deserve more, that is all I am saying.” Adrian really knew that her answer was the perfect indication that she had no intentions in carry on or going too deeply with the subject. He almost knew that Sabrina was honest on his words and that she was upset about missing the whole thing and not knowing about his grandmothers death. The least he could do was allow her to have a moment of her own, it wasn’t in his shoes to stop her after all. “Sure. You are free to do whatever you want.” He quietly said. The hand on his lower back was calming, actually capable of bringing peace and calm his thoughts and emotions. Like always, she had that effect on him. In the past he would spent hours in her arms just taking in her tenderness and he be completely happy about it. To have that feeling now, was home. Her words, though, were the ones that really set him off. Burring his face on her neck, he inhaled deeply and tried to hold back the tears that started to fall. Everything he had so gladly managed to put back inside was now trying to surface.
liv-fisher:
“I’m sorry, teach! Please don’t fail me on my poor movie skills the last movie I watched was Finding Dory and that was because I was high. Oopsies.” She laughed as she cut another piece of her pancake. “That’s awesome about the job offer but family issues ouch that can’t be fun.”
“That will simply and only depend on how well you do on your report. Your last chance of making up for such a terrible, terrible impression. Come on, Finding Dory is not a bad movie, it is actually pretty touching, but I have no idea how it can be interesting, or not, if you are high.” He wondered, scratching the stubble on his chin. “I guess, not an ideal but it is a good one, or so I hope. Yeah, well...but it is family and I think you can’t run too much from it.”
liv-fisher:
“Nope never seen it or atleast I don’t remember!” Olivia laughed. “Oh boy guess it’s a movie that I need to look up and watch so I can give you a full report on it.” She smiled at the male and nodded. “Nice to meet you as well Adrian and I am sorry that my movie game is off. Good that is my job so what brings you to Wisteria?”
“I am incredibly disappointed in you right now. Deeply, deeply.” He sighed. “You definitely need to watch it! It is one of those movies that will definitely, most certain, change your whole life. And please do! I request a full report on it and won’t even demand you watch the sequences.” He jokingly said to the woman. “It is okay, you are excused from such a unfortunate situation. I am sure you can totally remedy it later on. Well, it’s...family issues and a job offer. Nothing too exciting.”
alice-williamson:
“ yeah.. i can’t really comment, this is my first week in this town but i imagine it hasn’t changed much. i had a similar reaction to my hometown back in the states.” she mused, arms folding over each other.
“Oh. A newbie?” Adrian questioned, sitting straighter in his chair. “So I guess you really have no clue what I am talking about. Welcome to Wisteria, I suppose?” He friendly said. “What brought you here?”
liv-fisher:
“The one with Lindsay Lohan right? It’s been ages since I have seen it I must’ve been like 8 the last time I saw it.” She smiled softly. “True, so I guess I should probably introduce myself not everyday a nice guy can talk to me like a normal person. I’m Olivia and sorry I am keeping you from enjoying your food.”
“Wait. What? No!! That one with Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller? Come on! It is a classic. You can not tell me you have no clue what I am talking about here.” He exclaimed, a bit excited. “Oh I even get the nice guy card, this must be my day of luck. Nice meeting you, Olivia. I am Adrian and you don’t bother me, you are keeping me good company.”
sabrinacarlyle:
Sabrina hadn’t expected that he would have admitted to what he had just said about thinking about her. Truthfully if felt really good to know that she had crossed his mind every once in awhile, she was sure that her cheeks were displaying a soft rose tint but she could easily blame it on her drink over his words having an effect on her. “Well I’m still here and up to nothing special, sounds like deja vu right? Stuff?” She asked not really sure if he wanted to hear the truth with how vague he was. Could he really be that uneasy with the potential that she had moved on from him. She was about getting validation that he was gone for good for her but she’d be okay with asking him she thought. She had just brought the glass in her hand to her lips again for another drink when he started clarify what all of the work in front of him. The news of his grandmother passing and the break in his voice caused her heart to drop to the pit of her stomach. “Adrian…”She said softly, surprised by the news and shocked she hadn’t heard about it. She was too caught up in her own troubles to even know what was going on around her. His grandmother being a light she had often sought out advice from when she was younger and the kindness that was always present whenever they had interacted were always going to be strong memories for her of the woman that had raised the man she was crazy about. “I had no idea, I’m so sorry. Sincerely, wow I’m so shocked right now. If you need anything I’m happy to help you out. I’m so sorry.” She said with a heavy heart, her gaze eyeing him cautiously as she spoke to him. She wanted to comfort him because she knew losing his grandmother was probably crashing his world right now. So with little warning the blonde got up from her seat to embrace him giving him a light squeeze. Being this close to him bittersweet as she just lightly rubbed his back in silence.
His words affecting her till this day surprised him and he honestly wondered why that was. Even after everything, why she still felt something whenever he said something nice to her? He wanted to ask, but knew better than to do it. “I wouldn’t call it a deja vu because I never saw you as becoming someone like this. But I guess life has a way of its on, I don’t know.” He shrugged. “Yeah, you know. How you’ve been and all of those things...life and time and all of it.” He admitted slightly nervous about it. Adrian wasn’t so sure how Sabrina would react to the news, but the shock in her expression and softness in her words was comforting in some way. Every since he found the news no one was capable of comforting him quite enough. No one knew how it was to be raised in this town, to have lived the life he had or how actually important his grandmother was, besides her. So to see the compassion and sadness in her, felt good. “It’s fine, I didn’t expect you to know. I took care of it. The service was actually today so...all I have left is this paperwork. Good thing I am a lawyer now, right?” He snorted, trying to lighten the mood around them. “But thank you for the offer.” The way she looked at him was crude, honest, real and it only made him feel so much more. The feel of her arms around him, her body pressed against his was unexpected, but welcomed, and soon his own arms were wrapping around her petite frame, his face was buried on the crock of her neck while his arms hugged her tightly. Sabrina was being able to give him the comfort he had been seeking and he would gladly take it. She felt warm. Safe. Familiar. And above else, she felt like home.
