“I care. My doctor cares. We are people. Detention for your incorrect usage of the word, literally.” He grabbed a pen and paper “What’s your name?”

Lacey walked into the class to deliver a note from “another teacher” when Adrian spoke up. She stopped in the doorway and blinked, “Is this question directed at me, sir?”

Adrian raised an eyebrow and looked down at the note. Trying not to grin in front of his other students, he nodded. “Yeah she mentioned she couldn’t be in the library tonight. Yeah, I will be tutoring there later.” smooth. He tilted his head. “I don’t know... do girls get pee shivers?”

“Right, so I know this seems more like a survival of fittest sort of school. But would you mind giving me a tour? I’m terribly lost. And in exchange, you can have a few minutes of me telling puns to make the situation less awkward.”

“I would. Actually. I charge three dollars and twenty seven cents per tour. I don’t just give my services away! How dare you assume so.”

“Does anyone else get the pee shivers?” He asked the class during their dead silent study time. “Or am I just a medical marvel and possibly the cure for cancer?”

If he could do one thing without fear of retribution, what would it be? Why?

He’d stab a guy from the past for what he did to him and his family and for putting Adrian on the wrong path. Or he’d go take his daughter back. He is convinced he could be a good father if given the chance.

Does he see his situation with Lacey as anything more than for fun? Or does his fear related to past relationships prevent him from doing so?

He is hopeful. However he fears that their age difference will end up dividing them. He is afraid she will move on to someone more exciting and less troubled. While they are definitely having fun, he is not willing to admit that there is more there in fear of running her away. He will take whatever she will give him.

Would he consider marrying again?

Adrian has never been married. He knocked up a waitress. Knowing he would be a father, he attempted to make the relationship work between them. When it didn’t, they had to go through numerous legal battles for custody of their daughter, which Adrian lost. He sees her a four times a year for 48 hours each. Although his ex is trying to make it so that he has no parental rights. He is afraid of marrying for reasons like this. He feels that marriage is just another way to get people suckered into the legal system just to get screwed over.

“I didn’t realize birthdays were supposed to be a celebration until I was sixteen. I don’t hate them so much as I’m completely indifferent to them. It’s the day I hate, it just happens to also by my birthday,” she almost leaned into him except he started trying to tease her. With a fake gag, she pushed him away and moved to the other side of the room. “I want to punch you, and that’s the next thing I’m going to do,” she rolled her eyes. “Uh, how was I suppose to assume you wanted one?”

“Well it’s a celebration now. Let’s make this day all about you. What would you like to do? I could... give you a little spa day. Cheesecake, presents... come on.. let me make it awesome.” He smiled as she shoved him away. He instantly ran up to her and scooped her into his arms. “How about instead you just slap me around a little when we get home?” He teased before kissing her and setting her down. “Because I am a breathing male. I want a lap dance. Everybody wants lap dances.”

The longer they stayed touching, the more tense Eve grew. “I-I-I…I do not do much. Uhm…some days I have gymnastics practice…or I am with Jonah…or Levi. O-Or wandering the halls b-b-because M-Max locked m-m-me out again.”

Adrian tried not to groan hearing Jonah and Levi’s names. Ugh. UGH. UGH. Those two were the worst. Trying to get him fired simply for sleeping with their sister. “You need hobbies too. And maybe some new friends. Let’s find something to do.”

“I hate birthdays, I thought that part was pretty clear at the very least,” she teased him for seeming oblivious. “I’d never deny that I think you’re sexy, it’s just admitting to it in such a fashion. That’s too…cutesy for me.” She waved her hands in front of her face, “I’m actually surprised you haven’t already asked. Although, now I’m a little rusty…might need somebody to practice on.”

“Yeah but see now you are older and wiser. And why would you hate birthdays? Let’s just wipe the slate clean. Give me a chance to redeem birthdays for you, okay?” He smirked and kissed her quickly. “OH MY GOD YOU THINK IM ADORABLE. You want to be so romanced by me. What are you gonna do next? Bring me flowers?” He laughed a little and nodded. “Hey, i just figured you’d give me a dance when you were ready.”

“Okay…” she rolled her eyes but smiled. “Not…not average life, but just boring” she chuckled. “Uhm…I’d rather not talk about it, if that’s okay” she asked with a pleading smile. She really didn’t want to talk about it. It wasn’t something she would tell a stranger just like that unless she felt threatened.

He sighed. He understood that feeling. Since he quit drinking he had a lot of free time on his hands, and he didn’t want to end up bugging Lacey. “Blegh. Well now yOu just made me bored with your boringness.” He sighed and slumped over like a child. “Let’s go do something fun.. Are there water guns here do you think?”

“That’s me. Why? Need help with your homework. Because there is someone in the library for that.” He looked down at the brunette. “Netflix and chill... like the PG kind? Or the X rated kind. Because.. well I guess it doesn’t matter. I do enough of both as it is. Can’t really do either right here..”

the blonde reacts instantly- adrian’s arm thrown away from him roughly as antonio steps away. “fucking touch me again;” he all but growls. “and the next thing you’ll be doing is taking a ride in an ambulance.” this is the fourth person he’s threatened in the two days he’s been here- the second teacher he’s threatened since he arrived here.

“Easy there, Danny Devito. You paying for the ambulance?” He smirked and looked down the hall. “I take it you are no fun. Like at all. God, I feel bad for the girls you date.” He raised his eyebrows. “Wanna go shoot some hoops?”
