Alaya simply followed the shouts of other elven healers, who scattered around but regrouped with worried faces. Heading in the direction of one of the very few rooms she often visited today, inbetween breaks of healing. Worry painted on her features, as she followed suit. Almost freezing with eyes wide as she rounded a corner and saw her fiance standing there. Alone in the hallway, unstable and wounded, doctors approaching in order to get him back into bed as soon as possible. They weren’t fast enough, not even close to it. To her, they were like snails who weren’t even trying. Lifting her skirts from the floor, Alaya simply ran towards her fiance. Not caring about simple ruled and etiquette.
“Are you mad?” she spoke, not as loud and angry but her voice filled with worry and pain. She couldn’t deny it hurt her, seeing him like this. Carefully, she raised her hand to his face. Caressing below torn skin with her gentle hand to calm. “Adrian, you shouldn’t be out of bed. You could have hurt yourself, or worse.” Her hand lowered again, reaching out for his instead. Ready to bring him back to his private chamber, for walking around the halls like this was far from an option. “Come with me, please? I need you to stay in bed, to rest. To get better, for me. For all of us”
Adrian’s mind was a haze. The last thing the elf could recall was the grin. An evil, malice grin on an elf’s face. He had never seen such a thing. He tried to clear his mind but couldn’t. It only cleared when he heard Alaya’s voice. Such a soothing tone made the male smile. He leaned into the gentle touch. It was the first time Alaya had touched him in such a caring way. It felt nice and reminded him why he loved her. Everything about Alaya was intoxicating. She was a tall refreshing taste of wine and he was thirsty. “Normally a woman nags a man after years of marriage. But we haven’t seen our first moon together as man and wife.” He teased.
“I’ll come back to bed. I just wanted to know you were fine.” Even thing happen so fast, he wasn’t sure what happened to his beloved. The only thing he knew if anything had happened he won’t forgive himself. He took her and firmly squeezed it. “Lead the way.” Adrian managed to weakly smile. He slowly limped through the corridor. “I’m glad you made it without a scratch.”
