thinking about “you haven’t met all the people who will love you” and like!!! you also haven’t found all the things that will make you happy!!!! there will always be new authors and musicians and artists whose work you will one day discover and love!!!! there will always be new hobbies and skills for you to learn and feel fulfilled by!!! there will always be new things around the corner that will bring sudden and unexpected happiness!!!!!!!!!!!
I never liked those posts that reduce the Disney princesses to “girl who overacts about something and dramatically flings herself down and bawls” (super popular in the early 10’s and somehow that’s how a shocking majority view the classics now) but after an Aladdin (1992) rewatch, it’s especially egregious that they ever included Jasmine in that.
This part. This is the part I’m talking about
This is not a woman falling to pieces because her father won’t let her marry a man she just met.
This is a woman born to a life she has very little say in. She has never had a genuine friend (besides a tiger). She is facing a marriage to a man she doesn’t know and doesn’t like but duty (and the law) demands it. So she took a risk, ran away, ran to a world she doesn’t know or understand and when she landed in trouble (serious, serious trouble) a stranger came to her aid. She finally (finally!) made a real connection with someone but they didn’t get much time together before the guards showed up and she had to reveal who she was.
This moment when she’s crying her heart out? It comes after she’s been told that the first person she ever connected with, the first person to be genuinely interested in her for who she is and not what she is, the first real friend she has ever made, was executed… because of her.
She believes a good, innocent person has lost their life because of her actions, and what’s more, it brings home the reality for her that she cannot have a normal life or normal relationships, because see the consequences one little attempt wrought?
Motivational Sebastian Stan for all the artists out there [ x ]
She'd laughed, and if he could have bottled the sound and gotten drunk on it every night, he would have. It terrified him.
The first of 4 endpapers I got to illustrate for Illumicrate’s special edition of Six of Crows!! So happy I finally got to draw this scene!!

Andy Barber vs. Steve Rogers
the fact that John Walker used the shield to murder someone has so many layers, the metaphors of a bloody shield are top tier
Pristine and tainted vs. filthy and clean
Captain America's symbol being a shield means he's DEFENSIVE. his main weapon is one of de-escalation, of protection, of harm reduction. He stands for what's right and protects the weaker
One man doesn't have the power to judge and prosecute at will, he doesn't get to decide who lives or dies. America is a country built on blood and Steve Rogers stands for what real freedom should be, including opposing the very government that maintains the oppression of its people. It is always better to accidentally protect the wrong people than to hurt the good. If Steve stands for America, he stands for the ones who need protecting, not the authorities or aggressors
And then John Walker gets ahold of the same power and prestige and turns it into a weapon. A killer. A symbol of protection used to take life
He so quickly violated everything Captain America stood for, physically painting it in blood
America's downfall was when they chose a man to represent them who does so with violence and rage instead of justice and peace
"When we first met him, he was a counselor. He was a counsel of soldiers. He was a humanitarian. He was a helper. Now we see him grow into all of those principles and all of those fundamentals that he had; he's taken those with him to become Captain America." — Anthony Mackie 🪽
Your significant other just revealed their true form to you. You knew already, and are trying to hide the fact that it was a big reason why you were dating them.
