“The audience I want to cater to is hot babes,”  Finlay commented, a small smile forming on his face. “What audience are you trying to cater to?” He asked missing the entire point of the conversation. “Oh-’ he paused not quite sure what to say. “I guess it’s not everyone’s cup of tea,” and he wasn’t here to judge. “Hell yeah, mate. Maybe I’ll just hire you as my agent.” 

“ i’m generally more used to catering towards the audiences royals need to win over. you know, the ones who are a little less interested in memes and a little more concerned about the political wellbeing of their country. it’s not nearly as exciting, i assure you. ” adrian let out a light laugh at the remark, knowing his job wasn’t always one that could have been considered thrilling, but he did what he could, always the dutiful employee. “ i’m sure the valois family might try to fight you on that one a little bit, but who knows? maybe we can work out some kind of double deal sorta thing. ”

sébastien always favored conversations that lead to this, he liked the REWARDS of them since his mind was always there no matter the situation. plus, denying that he’d thought about his pr manager like that would obviously be a lie, “that is amazing to hear, i’ll be sure to make it extra enjoyable for you.” and at this point, the prince didn’t know if the conversation was even a joke anymore. STARTING off like that at first, but for some reason he couldn’t tell. “and if i was talking about you— how would you feel about it?”

to say that adrian was slowly tiptoeing his way out of his comfort zone the longer the conversation continued would have been an absolute understatement, the brunette nearly entirely out of his element. “ oh, i wouldn’t doubt that either. i’m sure all the rumors and stories i’ve had to hear over the years have at least a shred of validity to them. ” dark hues rolled to the ceiling, but the smirk still remained, his playful demeanor not changing, still not certain how serious to take the conversation. “ flattered, ” he started with a shrug of his shoulders. “ curious. ”

“ not being the best father that i could be to brendon. that little boy absolutely deserves the world and i want to be the best that i could be, but i’m just terrified that i’m going to let him down one day. ”

where do you picture yourself in ten years?

“ i’d like to think i might be married by that point. sure, there’s no guarantee on that sort of thing, but that’s about the point in my life where i’d really want to start getting settled down if i wasn’t already there. i wouldn’t mind having a few more kids in tow, but i’d rather have a stable relationship again with that first. i don’t want to do to another child what brendon has to go through. ”

“ not to brag, but the tsar of russia once allegedly told me that i gave great compliments. of course, i can fully corroborate the story, because it allegedly happened when i was three, and i’ve only heard that story once: from my mother, after she accidentally had some wine after having taken her sleeping pills, ” she replied, sighing at the memory of her mother. she’d always loved her, deeply, but there were things children just weren’t meant to see. her mother’s bizarre nighttime cocktails were one of them. “ mhm, i’m sure that you need to do a little more than just pimp out his ride to make sure you don’t end up with a full-blown diplomatic crisis every other wednesday. ” she mentally kicked herself for still feeling so angry towards sébastien. she’d gone to therapy, she knew the drill: holding onto anger meant you still cared about how things had ended. people who had moved past things felt nothing. they’d let go. they felt free. “ is margaux any easier to deal with? ” she added, turning to face the other.

“ oh, i wouldn’t doubt that for a second. i’m sure the tsar of russia has a major soft spot for three year olds attempting to pay him compliments. it seems like a personality trait entirely up his alley.  ” although the remark was slightly snarky, in no one way did adrian mean it maliciously, nor to sound attacking, bordering on playful more than anything else. “ like i said, for the younger crowd, he’s not that. you know, the type that every girl wants to be with and every guy wants to be. they’re not a particularly difficult group to win over. but, yes, it’s a little more difficult the older the audiences get. it’s all about knowing what to say, when to say it and becoming extremely good at making up excuses for people and turning things back around on them. ” was it a little bit of a shady career field to be in? absolutely. adrian had had to manipulate information more than he’d  care to admit, tearing apart the supposed character of those who questioned any choices the french royal family made. “ the girls make it easy enough. sure, there’s the cattiness that happens from time to time, but they don’t quite share their brothers habits. at least, not as far as i’m aware, so if they do, they’re doing well enough covering it up on their own. ”

He could think of several group chats that were greatly improved by the usage of memes. “I mean don’t you think memes are extremely lit?” he questioned with a smile chuckle. “You’re a genius, mate. “ i think we might be attempting to cater to different audiences here. ” adrian laughed, running his fingers through his hair. “ i do think they’re entertaining, don’t get me wrong, but i wouldn’t quite go that far with it either. ” a conversation that adrian never expected that he would be legitimately having. “ hey, just make sure to float me a small portion of the profits every now and again, and we’ll just call it even. ”

camila had been fortunate enough to learn the many different sides of the male standing before her . knew that this did not classify as typical adrian behavior . under normal circumstances , and a bit less liquor , maybe she would have called him out on it , demanded a real answer as to why he had decided to grace her with his presence so suddenly . letting the door fall shut behind her , she retakes her position on the bed , dark locks a stark contrast to the white of the pillow . ❛ friends : the dvd collection . do you you want to join me ? ❜

adrian should have known that he was risking the stability that he’d managed to achieve with camila by showing up on her doorstep, drunker than he cared to be. he’d always lauded himself as a professional, a professional the best he could be. “ why am i not surprised? ” adrian teased, arms crossing lightly over his chest as he glanced over at the tv again. “ but, of course, it’ll be a nice change of pace to watch some fictional drama and not deal with the real thing. ”

the male’s smirk MATCHES the other, “i can ask extremely nicely and let you decide if the latter part is true.” though, the prince was not a gentle person in bed, though, he was sure the other had known that. “but just between you and i, i never play nice, mon cher.” sébastien winked, playing into this GAME as much as he could. “cute, short brown hair, pretty lips, beautiful brown eyes, wears glasses sometimes.” the words he was speaking obviously geared towards adrian, “yes, i know, you’re a bit slow.”

adrian wasn’t certain when the conversation had started to take the turn that it did or how they’d really even gotten to this point, but the pr manager absolutely was not complaining about the idea of it all. “ how generous of you. ” dark hues rolled to the ceiling, clearly playful. “ i wouldn’t have it any other way. ” after all, what was the fun in keeping things altogether vanilla? “ you know, if i didn’t know any better, i’d almost think you were talking about me. ” arms crossed over his chest, the smirk across his lips growing, the playful banter something he had needed.

“ brendon. regresa aquí! now. ” the pr manager called out, muttering a string of unmentionables under his breath as he took off over the toddler who had momentarily and apparently decided to have an absolute mind of his own. adrian had known that the days of reckless independence and refusal to listen were soon to be upon him, but he hadn’t expected them to hit quite like this. in the middle of chasing after his son, however, he found himself nearly running into someone. “ fuck. lo siento, i’m so sorry. ” he apologized quickly, reaching to grab his son’s hand, not quite looking up to see who he’d nearly run over just yet.

“It’s not for the profits mate, it’s for the memes,” Finlay explained as he playfully rolled his eyes . “I don’t know if I could commit to every single episode- I have a thriving social life, and booty calls that sometimes last into the late afternoon. That’s away to much commitment,” he felt a small twinge of stress as if this was a real job offer. “Maybe, I could do like two episodes, then go back to just chillin’ like a villain,”

“ i can’t decide if that’s better or worse. ” adrian shook his head, a light laugh passing his lips. the sentiment was half genuine, half joking, the pr manager otherwise incapable of figuring out just how serious the scottish prince was being. “ you could be a recurring guest star or something like that. you know, pop up for a few episodes at a time, run off for the next two and a half seasons and then just spring back up out of nowhere. ”

there is a certain understanding he has..sensitive meetings are for sensitive ears, no matter how small the information is— can’t ever be too careful. “hey, lo ottengo, I get it, you want to protect and shield him from the big bad cruel world for as long as you can…can’t say that I blame you.” had his daughter survived, he’d probably be equally if not more overbearing towards her. “it is, and I do enjoy my work, despite how serious I may act,” his arrangement was often too good to be true and he often wondered how he got so lucky in life ( minus the unlucky parts of course ). “grande ! I’m sure you could use a bit of a break and some more time with your son.”

“ it’s certainly a rough time to be raising a child right now. ” he admitted, a sad look in his eyes. “ i’m just fortunate that he has both my mother and i here. we might not be on the best of terms, but it’s certainly better than any other alternative. ” and it was. brendon wasn’t only safe there on the island, but he was in the company of his mother and his father, never fully separated from the other for more than a few hours at a time. it was a solid arrangement, one he’d never complain about. “ you’re speaking my language there. it’s been a bit since i got to sit down and actually have a snack or a meal or something with the little one. ”

“I’ll be the Scottish, twenty-seven year old version of the Cash me Outside Girl then.” This desire came partially from the fact he had always wanted to be made into a meme. “I could be like Dr. Phil’s sidekick, or some shit,” The Scottish prince ran a hand through his hair, as he pondered the options. “We’d be the Batman, and Robin of American daytime tv,” 

“ again, i’m truly sorry to have to break this to you, but that sounds significantly less profitable than an angry preteen. ” truthfully, adrian didn’t know much of the american girl, only the bits and pieces he’d caught through social media prior to everyone being shipped off to the island. “ see, that sounds like a much better option. the added bonus being that you’d get to be on every episode then rather than just a few here and there. ”

“I’m positive. I want to reach Cash me Outside levels of being problematic,” finlay teased, a small smirk forming on his face. “Yes. Dr. Phil is my man crush Monday every week, I think deserve to live out my dream of being on his show.”

“ as much as i hate to break it to you, you’re neither thirteen years old nor an american girl, so you might have a little bit of trouble getting to quite that level. ” at least, for the sake of everyone on the island, adrian certainly hoped so. “ maybe you could get some sort of gig as a special guest or something of the like, rather than, you know, someone who actually ought to be on the show. ”
