@rvland
it’s been long enough now since their breakup that adrian no longer finds himself forgetting they aren’t dating anymore when he’s in ryland’s bedroom, not even when he’s still coming down from the high of an orgasm and clothed in nothing but an oversized sweatshirt--his own, of course. they’re long past the time when adrian would steal ryland’s clothes to sleep in, especially considering he won’t be sleeping here. he’s always given the option of staying for a little while, however, and although he doesn’t always take it, tonight he’s decided to. it won’t be intimate company--there’s certainly not going to be any cuddling--but adrian supposes he’ll always have a tiny soft spot for ryland and at times when he’s feeling lonelier than usual, even his emotionally detached presence is better than nothing. he’s even decided to push his luck by going out to the kitchen to make tea, and when he returns to the bedroom ( with a mug for each of them in hand ) there’s a movie playing on the flat-screen. ryland himself seems as utterly aloof as ever and adrian wonders sardonically if his brief absence had gone unnoticed altogether. “unless your preferences have changed, it’s your favorite,” he says as he gets carefully back onto the bed, folding his legs under himself and offering one mug out to ryland. it’s stupid, perhaps, that he’s held onto such a silly bit of information as the way ryland takes his tea, but adrian’s always been one for sentimentalities when it comes to the people he loves--or has loved, more accurately. “you’re out of honey, by the way. i took the liberty of using the last of it.”
