The art of Christopher Shy: John Carpenterās Escape from New York.
Escape from New York is a highly enjoyable, expertly directed thrilling ride that helped establish Carpenterās reputation as one of the most skilled filmmakers of his generation. 35 years since its release, the film is still a visually strong exhibition of the talent of a man so knowledgeable in his field, so inspired and ahead of its time and at the same time so modest and down-to-earth, itās a shame he doesnāt get the right opportunities anymore.

anxiety.
Or, you know, you could just stop saying sorry.
I take it you donāt have anxiety.
You canāt ājust stop saying sorryā. You do something, something so little, like accidentally bump into someone. You feel horrible about it. Your brain starts panicking and you have trouble trying to breathe. You stutter an apology. They say itās okay, but you accidentally do it again, and you apologize again. They just say āAha, you can stop saying sorry.ā And you feel horrible that youāve probably made them angry or upset, so you mutter out an apology for the third stupid time, and they just say to stop saying sorry.Ā Stop saying sorry.Ā
You canāt just tell someone to stop saying youāre sorry.
i find the best alternative to āstop saying sorryā is ā no need to apologizeā it takes a lot of pressure off of that word and helps reassure them that there is no need to feel bad.
This might help me a lot. Iāll try it.
Omg I hate when people tell me to stop saying sorry, because it just goes in this really embarrassing circle~ or just, it seems super harsh and makes me feel really awful for trying to apologizeā¦

While cleaning out my room I found a paper that my therapist gave me some time ago to deal with obsessive and intrusive thoughts. Sorry the paper is a little crinkled and stained, but I figured Iād post it in hopes that it will help someone like it helped me.

That thought isnāt helpful right now.
Now is not the time to think about it. I can think about it later.
This is irrational. Iām going to let it go.
I wonāt argue with an irrational thought.
This is not an emergency. I can slow down and think clearly about what I need.
This feels threatening and urgent, but it really isnāt.
I donāt have to be perfect to be OK.
I donāt have to figure out this question. The best thing to do is just drop it.
Itās OK to make mistakes.
I already know from my past experiences that these fears are irrational.
I have to take risks in order to be free. Iām willing to take this risk.
Itās OK that I just had that thought/image, and it doesnāt mean anything. I donāt have to pay attention to it.
Iām ready to move on now.
I can handle being wrong.
I donāt have to suffer like this. I deserve to feel comfortable.
Thatās not my responsibility.
Thatās not my problem.
Iāve done the best I can.
Itās good practice to let go of this worry. I want to practice.
A brilliant way to respond to dick pics (x)

Stephen Colbert pens hilarious and important feminist op-ed
Who runs the world? If Stephen Colbert could have his way: women.Ā In an op-ed for Glamour magazine, the future Late Show host pushesĀ for equal rights and treatment of women in the workplace and the media, all while mixing in a healthy dose of humor. But despite the hilarious jokes, his extended quotes make some incredibly crucial points.Ā
I have such an incredible respect for this man. He works hard to earn it, too.
