shoutout to this tweet for making me think about in the first time in years how much i fucking absolutely hate bioshock infinite with every fiber of my being
I can't remember the last time finishing a game made me so angry. The funny thing is, I was still giving it the benefit of the doubt, up until the final minute. Even despite the unfinished rebellion subplot where they just say "Well I guess the revolutionaries are just as bad as the establishment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" and then just drops the whole subplot. I made excuses for it like "Ok the social commentary was fumbled, and not integrated well into the game, but I don't think that's the main part of the plot, I think it's about something else." I was still completely on this games side, believing it still had something meaningful to say. But then when it dawned on me that THIS is where we're ending it, on a plot twist I had already theorised for a while, and then finding many voxes that reconfirmed it to the point I was already completely certain that he was him by the time we got there, and then the game throws it in my face like it's some massive revelation and thinks its so smart. Every now and then I'll just remember random things that never got properly explained and be like "Hey wait a minute, what was the point of... Oh nevermind none of it fuckin' mattered."
