Here’s a sort of state of younger-than-genX slang as far as I can tell from texting, conversations, and ig comments. Comment if you have any to add or change!

ratchet lives on out of love and necessity
12 / fuck 12 (for cops, guys - shout it if someone busts your party)
not capitalizing or punctuating for emphasis
empathy builders / self pastiche like "___ probs," "when you..." (related to "tfw"), “be like” and posting a picture with the word "mood" or "me irl" to describe your emotional state abstractly
based / rare because even lil b's haters are his fans
Don’t get as much love, but they're part of culture still
turnt and bae aren't quite dead yet
swag is almost always used ironically now
we all hate "fleek" but it's still around
white people tired of bruh but too many Real Life Actual Black People use it for it to die — same w nah

"literally" is like an IQ-seeking eyeroll missile, but "literally me" or "literally u" is rampant
